Just a heads up to anyone watching this that I reviewed Rebel Moon: Part 2, but someone at Netflix blocked it. That's why you don't see it. If they ever do the right thing and unblock it, I'll make sure it's linked to here.
Thanks for watching and for saying that! I prefer going into detail to really explain why I love or hate something rather than just piling on general praise or pooping, so I'm happy to hear that my nuance came across here in a unique way.
Nice watch. Thank you. For me, the way I think Snyder "writes" a movie is he makes his storyboards with the scenes he wants to focus on, and those are usually the slow mo ones, as by doing that, he captures the images he had. The problem is he then doesnt know how to get from point a to b, and movie ends up long, because the other writers and maybe himself now have to connect what he thought was 1 hour worth of ideas, bubbling the thing to 3+ hours
Thanks for the comment! Yes, length definitely seems like an issue for him. Even if his director cuts end up better, you still wonder if he can tell a good story in a more economical way anymore. We'll see!
Thanks for watching, streamers! Time for the QOTV. What are you looking forward to most in the next part of Rebel Moon? I'm curious to see how the king's death is going to play out. My prediction was that Kora killed him or that there was a misdirect that she was framed for it or that it was an accident while she was trying to save the princess or something. That Jimmy was possibly involved. We'll see!
If they established "Arthelais" as the person who killed the royal family but kept the fact that Kora was them, then it could have made for a better twist, especially since it could have been one the audience could have pieced together themselves. Plus it could've given an interesting cliffhanger for part 2 AND played into the films theme of Guilt since being the secret architect of everyone's suffering would have made for an interesting relationship shift amongst the characters Also the fact that you only have like 100 subscribers is terrible. This is some well put together stuff. Keep up the good work.
Totally! It also would support the idea of her being a scargiver who leaves her mark on everyone's lives when the truth comes out. There were just so many ways they could have improved this story. Thank so much for watching. I appreciate the positivity!
Yeah, I suspect that Snyder didn't bother with the math. Apple's "Foundation" starts season one with Cleon XIII as emperor and ends season 2 with Cleon XVII. Four emperors over a 174 year period. And this is a scheduled succession due to the clone nature of each emperor; that's an average of 43 years per emperor.
Thanks for watching! How was Foundation? I wanted to see it when I heard they were making it even though I never read it, but I didn't hear much about it after the show came out.
@@streamcometrue In my opinion, it's fantastic. But it is VERY slow and very character driven and it can be a bit confusing for the first few episodes since there are a mix of flashbacks and flashforwards. They did real sets, location filming, physical models for their spaceships, great costuming, and the dialogue sounds natural for each character. Each 'side' gets plenty of screen time (and they did something clever here with balancing the number of central characters for each side). It really sucks that it doesn't get enough attention. OH! And Apple had the showrunner/producer map out the entire series _before_ they greenlit it. Meaning no GOT Season 8-type ending hopefully.
Yeah. Even bad movies have something I can appreciate. When I can't think of a single positive, that's when I call it terrible. I can't think of the last movie I saw like that. Probably because I forgot it.
Zack Snyder is really good with the scenes and images he creates but my God is he a bad writer. Or something just gets lost in translation between the screen and the scene. Either way He needs to stop writing.
I agree from what I've seen so far. If he wants to write, I think it's best to take a lot of feedback, but that can be hard for auteurs lol Thanks for commenting!

After watching around a dozen breakdowns of Rebel Moon, I have to say that this is probably the most nuanced take I've seen.

“Then when is there a divine resonance according to the subtitles, Issa?” That was gold.
"I did it.😁"
That sequence made me laugh.

Great channel, keep it up!
Thank you! I'll try.
I like the cut of your jib!
Woohoo! That's the business! Thanks so much for leaving a comment.
Damn you gave this show more mercy than most. Its shots look pretty, but it got more plot holes than a field in a well drilling school.

I'm not a plateau, I'm more of a mesa.
Sweet fawn Sofia with her teenage face, body and voice - stormtrooper-veteran...🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Snyder, what a funny joke!👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣💥
Haven't seen the word fawn in ages! Thanks for commenting.
Thank you for pointing out "Djimon" isn't pronounced "Digimon" so many mess that up.
Thanks so much for watching and acknowledging that in a comment! I'm bad with names, but I try lol
Is Rebel Moon 🌕 better than Madame Web🕸️😅?
I don't knoooow. I haven't watched Madame Web yet and I'm still on the fence about doing a review. 🤐
@@streamcometrue trust me, you gonna love it, in fact you gonna watch it twice as Dakota Johnson foresee it 🤣 It's Webbing Time!!!!

This movie was so stupid and looked ugly as hell.
LOL
@@streamcometrue A bit harsh I know but that's how I feel about it :D
No it wasn't 😢
