    Hey James Trey Hendrickson is already one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Over the last 4 season since Trey became a full time starter he is 3rd in sacks. Garrett and Watt are the only ones above him. That’s why I always say that 3 of the leaves top 5 edge rushers live right here in the AFC North.

    Ideally this is how it would go. This year Bell and Stone are the starting safeties and Hilton is the starting nickel. Battle will play the third safety roll sort of like Stone did last year in Baltimore. In 2025 Stone and Battle are the starting safeties and Dax Hill is the starting nickel. 2026 Battle and Tycen Anderson are the starting safeties with Dax still at nickel. This is how I hope it goes down. I love Tycen Anderson he has the size and build of a small linebacker but is fast and quick like a CB. 6’2’’ 210 and runs 4.36.

    Gotta love guys like Trey. The thing is, he signed a good contract for a DE with 8 sacks. He outperformed it and it would be great if the Bengals could bump up his pay. Problem is, Burrows contract, Chase's upcoming deal prevents that plus - there's no guarantee he's getting 17 sacks this year. I do think maybe the Bengals could rework the contract with some incentives. At last check, the Bengals do have some significant cap space left for 2024. What are their plans for that? They need to reward someone so Tee & Trey should be the first couple in line for something. Maybe they are concerned about next year but they could front-load things.

    • @tmartin8888
      @tmartin8888 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There’s no way in hell the Bengals are going to redo Trey’s contract again, not after this crap. The Bengals already granted Trey a new contract because he did outplay the original contract, he had great production and worked hard, and he went about his business like a pro. The Bengals didn’t have to do that, they could have expected Trey to honor the original contract he signed with them, but the Bengals do reward players that earn their respect. After this unfortunately ridiculous and dramatic trade demand and threat to retire, they absolutely will not reward Trey with an amended contract. Whether this was Trey’s idea or his agent’s doing, the fact is Trey has won himself a label as a locker room distraction. The Bengals do not cave to player demands, ever, so Trey will honor the rest of his upgraded contract with the Bengals, and if he continues to perform well I’m sure he’ll get a new contract at that point, either with the Bengals or with another club. I doubt it will be in Cincinnati because by then he’ll be over 30 and still looking for a long term contract. The Bengals just don’t ever do that, ask Willie Anderson or Andrew Whitworth. I think the best case scenario is they offer him a two or three year extension, and I’m not sure he’d go for it.

  • @NathanDean79
    @NathanDean79 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I think they should bump Treys pay up to 20 mil a year. That’s around what Myles Garrett makes. Trey is on the same level as Garrett. He is a top 5 player at his position no doubt about it. So I would add another year onto his deal and bump him if not up to 20 then at least 3 mil per year.

    • @no2_justin
      @no2_justin หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t disagree that Trey is top 5 at his position and has outplayed his contract. But he is not on Myles’ level. He definitely should’ve been an all-pro last year, even if 2nd team, but he’s not Myles. Trey has had double digit sacks and tackles for loss 3 out of the last 4 years. Myles has had that for 6 STRAIGHT years. After finally getting his DPOY last year, I think he’s a HOF lock. Trey won’t be unless he strings together at least 3 more seasons like last year, which was clearly his best, and gets some all-pros as a result.
      And it’s not just the stats. The way Myles wrecks a game that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet, or the way teams have to gameplan for him, is on another level. He’s an athletic freakshow. Trey is athletic too, but not like Myles. Trey has a relentless motor though.

      Agree justin. Love trey and I too think he's top 5 at his position but I think Garrett's the best in the league. Trey to me is toward the bottom of the 5 best edges. Like 4 to 6. I actually think trey and watt are about even. I saw a stat not long ago that backed this up. Micah parsons is top 3 in my opinion. Kid from Detroit is really good too but he's young in his career and can't be considered top 5. Nick bosa is damn good but yeah Garrett is a freak. That's still damn good company to be in anyway. Garrett's really good against the run and trey isn't really that good against the run.

  • @NathanDean79
    @NathanDean79 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Oh NOoooooo!! Now the media will have nothing salacious to talk about going on in Cincinnati. No drama!! Trey is playing and so is Tee. I mean Tees options are to play and get paid 21.8 mil dollars guaranteed or stay at home and earn $0. That’s not a choice that’s a no brainer. Same think with Trey. I don’t know what type of cap gymnastics the Eagles had to do to get Hurts, Brown, and Smith all paid but it’s probably going to come back to but them. They are using multiple void years. They are allocation 107 million dollars for 3 players. That’s not a good idea. That’s 40% of your cap. Plus they have a guard who is the highest paid guard I. The league. So the Eagles have about 46% of their cap allocated for 4 people. This is a recipe for disaster.

    For the people who want to keep Tee on the team long term I always ask this question. Who do you want to keep, Trey Hendrickson or Tee Higgins? Can’t keep em both. I and most people who know anything about football would choose Trey because Trey plays a very important position and he is one of the top 5 in the league at what he does. Tee Higgins is good but he isn’t a top 5 WR. Or a top 10 WR. In fact Tee had a terrible season last year. He has never made the Pro Bowl or an All Pro team. If Tee would play for 20-21 mil a year we could keep him. Tee plays an important position too but we have an actual top 5 players at the WR position In Jamar Chase.

    • @louiseregan2498
      @louiseregan2498 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Why not keep them both ... both Tee AND Trey? Why don't the Bengals' powers-to-be look at their roster and see who's not starting and whose performance isn't up to par and try to trade or cut these players? Then use their salaries to boost Trey's and Tee's contracts. Or, why not ask Joe if he's willing to renegotiate his contract. Something the Chiefs have done several times with Patrick. Why is there always this salary problem for Bengals' talented players and key pieces on the field?

    • @no2_justin
      @no2_justin หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Trey is more valuable to the team right now in regards to his unit, absolutely. When he’s getting shut out, we have basically no pass rush. When Tee gets shut out or is hurt, we still have a solid passing attack. However… that’s not the only factor here. Age is a HUGE part of this conversation. Trey will be 31 when he hits free agency next. Tee will be 26 next offseason. So, I would extend Tee over Trey mostly for that reason. That being said, I personally wouldn’t extend either of them. The only exception to that is if Trey hits the market in 2026, doesn’t get what he thinks he’s going to get and is willing to come back here on a reasonable 2 year deal, keeping him through age 33.

    • @brandonwhodeyer8531
      @brandonwhodeyer8531 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trey won't be 30 till this coming Dec. So this is age 29-30 season and 2025 will be his age 30 -31 season. 2026 he will be 31-32 season.

    • @no2_justin
      @no2_justin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brandonwhodeyer8531 sorry, I just saw this. If this was in response to my comment, just wanted to point out that mine said he’d be 31 when he hits free agency, which is the 2026 offseason. That’s why extending him is tough, because we’re potentially talking about signing him through age 33 (end of 2027 season) or 34 (end of 2028 season). I don’t see the Bengals doing it, and I don’t blame them. He could start to decline by the time this current contract ends after 2025. We don’t want to be locked in beyond that, before we know what his 30s are going to look like.

    • @brandonwhodeyer8531
      @brandonwhodeyer8531 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@no2_justin I agree. I don't think they will neither. Bengals seem 30 plus hesitant after giving Dunlap and atkins contracts into there 30s. Personally I'd be good with giving trey a added year like they did last year because it would be a option year. No way they would add another year and they couldn't get out of it. Trey got a couple seasons in his prime left I think but he may start to slow down in 2025 or it could be 2026. Who knows but it's coming in the next hand full of years. Aaron donald was slowing down they year but was still really good but wasn't quite as elite as he was. Same will jj watt. It happens to all players

    I feel for Trey. He is a premier player and nearly had the sack title this year. Leverage or not in some sense he deserves to be paid like other top tier pass rushers. HOWEVER. Maybe this all works out somehow. Maybe the Bengals spend to cap and those extra dollars spent elsewhere help win a Superbowl for Cincinnati. There are other sorts of compensation.

    The Bengals finally get a break this year. They have like the 21st hardest schedule this year after the 2nd hardest schedule in 2022 and last year they had the hardest schedule that any team has had since the year 2000!!! Last year they played 11 playoff team. 11 playoff teams and 14 teams that finished over .500!! So it is truly remarkable that they finished 9-8 without Joe Burrow with that schedule. The Higgins situation is TOTALLY different than the Hendrickson situation. Tee is not under contract. The Bengals did not extend him. He has no security beyond this year. Trey just signed a deal last year and asked for a redo before its even legally allowed. Trey USUALLY is NOT participating this time of year and Tee usually is. I am pretty sure that Tee wouldn't be in Miami if he signed a deal last year and had had two years left. I don't get the comparison.

    I’m only halfway through the video, so maybe you guys address this later. But you seem puzzled why the Chiefs have a similar SOS this year, despite winning their the division and the Bengals placing last in theirs. It has to do with not only their own (weak) division last year, but the AFC West also plays the NFC South. That was by far the worst division in football last year by overall win %. On paper, a lucky break for the Chiefs. But this was of course decided way in advance and had nothing to do with how each team performed last year. That’s just the 3 year interconference divisional rotation.
