We finally got an actually rival (though not through actual gameplay cause they still had ehhhh Pokémon, but through personality) after so long, it’s great.

AvonZapper You can play the Isle of Armor before coming champion, so it wouldn’t fit in the storyline
Mustard hogs the TV and news is very limited via other methods. The last big news they heard was another gym challenge should be starting.
