- This is how you swap over a door / wing mirror on a renault trafic 2017 model.This will be the same for all mk3 models from 2014 to 2019. similar van models are the vauxhaul vivaro, fiat talento and nissan nv300.

My 2004 mk2 is still going strong but it is great to see some hands on work on a mk3 which would be my choice if forced since my mk2 is still really good with the exception of electrics sadly. If there is one item I have had to replace often on it it is the wing mirror! Only had to do it twice and on both occasions it fell victim to another commercial getting too close. Always tempted to put a bar in front of the mirror when it happens so the aggressor gets more damage. Great work fixing this up.
Just weld a spear on top of your mirror.It works for me

For the tape residue get a bottle or spray can of sticky stuff remover, it's only a few quid on eBay or if your near a B&Q they stock it to, works like a charm. P.s. Subscribed to your channel keep up the good work.
White spirit will get it off as well

Try the Autoglym tar remover to get the sticky tape off I had the same problem and it came off so easy
Auto Smart tar and glue remover you can buy smaller amounts but the 5 litres is good to have around.

Nice job , but should you have transferred the dust/ weather seal off the old mirror onto the new one to stop water ingress into the van in the future ?
As a bit of a van man.. I was shocked to see the state this came in. But it's good hands it seems because it's going to better than new when you're finished...Nice! :) These Vivaro things are more durable than the modern transit, an over bloated fiesta!
Try getting a tin of autosmart tar and glue remover will make life easy removing that glue residue
Quoted $1,450 for a new driver’s side mirror on a Trafic in Australia. Dealership service department has to order is from France lol would’ve taken months to get here 😆

Try some rubbing alcohol on the adhesive, I’ve used it to get sap off cars and it’s very effective
To remove the sticky stuff buy a large 5L ISOPROPYL ALCO#HOL. I get mine from ebay. I use it for cleaning almost anything. Cheers, Bob

Why on Vivaro the wire goes into the door panel???? I removed all the screws from door panel but it still doesn't come off...

One way to remove the adhesive is to spray it with WD40 and it should come off with a light rub with a cloth very easily.
Nice drop of unleaded petrol on a rag will get rid of that adhesive residue 👍🏻
A rag and some petrol works for sticker residue

Petrol is best to take sticky bit off but safer is turps pain remover
Iv used tons of wd40. It's done the job but took hours and hours.

@@Sparkplugsteve I normally use wd40 so must be a different type of glue. I wonder if isopropyl alcohol would have been better?
@@robthomas7232 it worked well on the signwriting glue but the adhesive from the wrap covering the windows was super tough to remove.

Use car pro tar x removes glue and tar from paint work
Some petrol on a rag will soften the glues and remove it Steve
methylated spirit will take the tape residue off no probs

We have loads of these repairs to pay for at work. The business I work for tells me this is a £500 job. My question to you Steve is how long did it take and what did the mirror cost off ebay compared to the main dealer price? thanks. Great video by the way, you could have been right in the shit if you lost those nuts.
Wow 500? I paid £72 for it and it's 15 mins work.

Driving in rain, my van suffers from collecting water on the mini windows on the doors. It comes off the mirror in streams and makes my wing mirrors difficult to see. Anyone else suffer this issue?

Put a blob of decorating caulk in end of socket to grab nut
