I got to meet him several times down in Jupiter. He lived a few houses down from my father as does Joe Namath and a few other icons. Both were super nice and funny as can be. My father has become good friends with Joe and my mother has painted murals at several of Burt’s homes over the years. It’s sad he is gone but what he has done at FSU and for our football players will live on. Giving them housing and a place to stay for cheap just shows how good of a man he was. If he was broke, it wasn’t because he squandered it, he gave away a lot of money to charities and scholarships for decades.

Burt Reynolds was the biggest star back in his day, he was also one of my favourite actors - he was so cool when he went on the Carson show. Gotta say Charles the neighbor allowing Burt to stay in his house was beyond generous...you may never know how much his fans appreciated what you did for him. Total class act!
