I know this video is old, but if you see this Southern Salt, this is the most fantastic informational video I have ever seen talking about trout patterns in Mobile Bay. I am a local and have fished the bay for years and I couldn't have said what you talked about better myself. The best part about this is that pretty much any bay or estuary in the south has these same trout patterns that anyone could apply to their home body of water! Once again, fantastic video my man!
@@southernsalt Anytime man! Also, I would love to see another video like this but talking about the tactics used to tackle specs during the summertime in the Mobile Bay area. Once again, great video
Glad to see a new QTT!! Also, I can't help but be enamored by the hydrology discussion in relation to trout migration. Sounds like someone needs to fund a study to test this ;)
Freddy Cimermancic I have not fished South Texas so I’m not sure what the estuary systems are like, however your Trout patterns will be extremely similar. In the Summer Trout will be in sandy salty water, in the winter the trout will head into the brackish water estuaries for the winter. In the fall the best areas to fish will be the mouths of those estuaries.
Fish the ledges where the water drops off or mouths of the springs and you will catch fish. You just gotta power fish until you find the most productive spot for you. About this time of year, start fishing deep holes or drop-offs near the mouths of rivers. Deeper points, grass flats, and oyster shells on bottom are also excellent features to key in on. If you need any more info, just let me know at my email: pvfisher05@gmail.com
Hey Bryan, thanks for watching! Wolf Bay is an awesome place to fish, even more so in the colder months. As it continues to get colder head to the Northern part of the bay. In the Fall and Spring times when water temp is around 70 the grassy areas just north of the west part of the ICW are loaded with Trout. As for the worms I have no idea, I find a lot of trout with them from time to time.
Excellent video !
Thanks!

Would it work the same way in south texas?

Any tips after a cold front (air temp drops 20 degrees, NNE wind)? Waters been warm, but fishing these cold days have been difficult
Man it really gets tough after a front passes. The fish just don’t feed much at all until the weather kind of stabilizes.
So I should look for off colored water near clearer water, with a drop in depth near by
