Actually Almateria uses technically just sounds. This is actually Ar Ciela, a language Shikata-san sings in, and had a hand in making for, the Ar Tonelico series, specifically Qoga. Since Shikata-san did not sing Almateria and since Ar Ciela was not yet invented at the time Almateria was written and recorded, it could not have been used. Apparently the two lines that are in Ar Ciela mean something to the effect of "The World is divided, crying out for freedom. The World is divided, crying out for the Mother Will." The Mother Will is probably referring to the Tree.
I thought I heard a bit of Emotional Song Pact from Ciel Nosurge and Ar Nosurge, but it's probably just me since this came about before either of those games.
Aria Saeryen considering Shikata created both of those languages with Gust…I'd say it's highly possible that there is a bit of ESP in there. After all, Emotional Song Pact was one of the languages Hymmnos was derived from in game, so it could be a bit of the crossover you're hearing.
That song is so beautiful... I have to download it... I have the lyric in english and is ... really good... like an elf, like an angel, like an innocent soul.
@SincereFidelity No, it's not Italian. 'This song was made for Tales of Symphonia but it contains the same kind of language as the begin song from the first episode. And they said that that song is in the secret language of the angels (from Tales of Symphonia) so it must be a self made language... and besides when you look at the lyrics they've made you see that there are no lyrics... It would fit in the best.
@SincereFidelity I just looked online, and it said the title was 'Beyond the Prayer.' Sounds kinda like what you said, and it's still a very pretty song. i love it. :)
@SincereFidelity Because Kanata takes the possessive, "Distance" owns the Prayer, making "Prayer of Distance," or, to make it more sensible in English, "Beyond the Prayer." That's the title I normally see when I don't see Inori no Kanata.
since hearing akiko shikata's utsusemi and her other songs such as akakakushi, katakoi, umineko, etc, i've fallen in love with akiko shikata!!! (as a fan, i'm a girl :/)
My guess for the language of the song would be Latin, because i believe Collete Brunel's Angel Song in episode 2 of Tales of Symphonia The Animation is Latin, so it would fit with the ToS theme.
@21stPrimarch I correct myself, horrible inaccuracy. Inori is the possessive. xD "Prayer's Distance." ""Beyond the Prayer is still what I normally see (I think no can be an prepositional indicator too?).
I think it's latin because, the angels are originally from the Christianity religion. The Christianity Religion started with Latin speakers and the Bible was originally writed in Latin. That's what I guess.
I really like this song very very much. So smooth, yet relaxing while listening to it. It touchs my heart & soul. A rare talent to be found.

OMG her voice alone is a new instrument!
Who else feels connected with nature when hearing Akiko Shikata? Her music is simply magical.

Everything she's done is awesome excusing a few things. EP=NOVA and Concealed Blue spring to mind.

Distant Prayer or Prayer in the Distance. :)
It means beyond prayer
What is the language she is singing in before she starts singing japanese?
Thank you LastFM for helping me find this amazing musician!
My guess for the language of the song would be Latin, because i believe Collete Brunel's Angel Song in episode 2 of Tales of Symphonia The Animation is Latin, so it would fit with the ToS theme.
I want to get some of her songs on my iTunes but I can't find her anywhere and makes me sad:.(
@21stPrimarch I correct myself, horrible inaccuracy. Inori is the possessive. xD "Prayer's Distance." ""Beyond the Prayer is still what I normally see (I think no can be an prepositional indicator too?).
the exact translation is "Beyond the Prayer" so you SF you were basically right
What's the translation of the title ? I found the lyrics but I wasn't able to find a translation for the title. Beautiful song however !
@Vicleouflyon it means beyond the prayer based on what i found out.
beyond the prayer ;D
@midnightchaser113
Because anyone who's even a little familiar with Japanese can tell that it's not. At least at the beginning it's not.
tales of symphonia right?
Download? T_T
It's ending of anime TOS ?
I can't find the lyrics of the choir o.o
i wanted it so much
I want this video on my C1000 phone.

I think it's latin because, the angels are originally from the Christianity religion. The Christianity Religion started with Latin speakers and the Bible was originally writed in Latin. That's what I guess.

There's no sense in comparing apples and oranges.
@chibiYUE110 !lol guess were on the same path! (of conquering inventions that inflates the voices of screechy indian songs!
