I have always liked the Pretty Marsh Picnic area. What I like about it is the fact that the trees have grown together over the road so much of the approach is through a sort of sylvan tunnel.
It has been a mess since they restarted work there. It does look like they are getting close to the end. I hope they get it finished and repaved before winter.
I always enjoy your videos Todd!! With this one, you took me to places on MDI that I haven’t been! That I can remember, anyway! 😊 So, I’m going to grab a map and watch again!! Thanks so much!! 🌊💙🌲💙🌊
It looked like the fog took longer to burn off over there. I drove through Seawall at about 10:40 on the way to the Dentist and it was still pretty foggy then.
had dinner tonight at peekie toes new place, found out why they were not open last year, but dinner was really excellent, and we will be back on friday.
I am not familiar with that restaurant. Good to get a report. I often get asked how different restaurants are and generally have no or only dated experience with them.
10/24/24: How is it possible to fumigate*** an abandoned cannery before you can turn into residential housing? And do the ghosts of the fish haunt the building after midnight? *** "mid 16th century: from Latin fumigat- ‘fumigated’, from the verb fumigare, from fumus ‘smoke’." Hence, the "no fumar" signs in the cannery, the exception being i the section where the fish has been preserved by smoking it.
It had been many years since it was last used as a cannery. However, I suspect that pretty much the only original part of the building is the brick outer walls.
@@todddunn945 10/24/24: Thanks. FYI, I recall that you don't have advertising on your YT videos. But those of us with AdBlock still get shut down nonetheless (easily evaded. So much for Silicon Valley "smarts"). Have a safe Halloween!
Thanks for taking the time to show us around, it's always appreciated!
My pleasure.
great tour, thanks.
You are very welcome. It was a very pretty day.
we went thru bernard today, on our way to seawall, from pretty marsh.

on the way back to southwest harbor from seawall, dtraffic was really backed up due to the construction.

Great video! Thanks for all you do!
I am very glad you liked it.

You are very welcome. Your comment makes me realize I should put in a map at the beginning of videos like this where I drive somewhere.
Thanks for the tour. Very interesting.

at seawall today, really hazy, around 130pm.

No parking = no tourist industry
Well to be completely honest we don't really want tourists in Bass Harbor.
@todddunn945 perfectly understandable.
seafood ketch is closed for the season, how is their food?
In my experience they are fine. Not gourmet, but good quality for the price. However I have not been there since the summer before the pandemic.
@@todddunn945 thanks, we were going to eat there, but they were closed for the season.
@@williamthawley9251 I saw that today when I stopped there.
