People should use Italian and French more as a reference to teach Portuguese... I mean, EVERYBODY knows how to pronounce LASAGNA, why not use that to teach nh?

    • @fernando9260
      @fernando9260 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

I'd say Italian is even closer to Portuguese than Spanish is (depending on the region of course, I'm using North Argentina as reference since a good friend of mine is from there). I'm Brazillian and despite not knowing how to speak it I can understand Italian much better than Spanish. French is too far off tho, I tried to learn it and it's pretty damn hard and different from any other romance languages out there (I'm not counting Romanian).

her explanation of when Hs have sound in Portuguese made it sound as if it was randomic
    "LH" (/ʎ/)
The "LH" sound is a palatal lateral approximant, often similar to the "lli" in the English word million (in some accents). Languages that have a similar sound include:
Spanish: The "LL" sound traditionally represented /ʎ/, though in many dialects (like in Spain and Latin America), it has merged with the "Y" sound (/ʝ/ or /ʃ/). However, in some regions (e.g., parts of Bolivia and Paraguay), /ʎ/ is still used.
Italian: The "GLI" combination in words like famiglia (family) or figlio (son) produces a similar /ʎ/ sound.
Catalan: Similar to Italian, the "LL" sound is pronounced as /ʎ/ in most dialects.
Quechua: In this indigenous language of South America, the sound /ʎ/ is present.
Occitan: The "LH" sound in Occitan resembles the Portuguese /ʎ/.
    "NH" (/ɲ/)
The "NH" sound is a palatal nasal, often like the "ñ" in Spanish or the "gn" in Italian. Languages with a similar sound include:
Spanish: The "Ñ" (e.g., año, meaning "year") is pronounced /ɲ/, almost identical to Portuguese "NH".
Italian: The "GN" (e.g., gnocchi or montagna) represents the /ɲ/ sound.
Catalan: The "NY" sound (e.g., canya meaning "cane") is pronounced as /ɲ/.
French: The "GN" sound (e.g., montagne, meaning "mountain") is similar to /ɲ/, although French nasalizes vowels more prominently.
Guaraní: The /ɲ/ sound is present in this indigenous language spoken in Paraguay.
Basque: The "Ñ" sound (written as ñ or in depending on context) also corresponds to /ɲ/.
Quechua and Aymara: Both these Andean languages feature the /ɲ/ sound.
There is also CH, and that makes the same sound as SH in English.

@@extremeranking Very Nice, I will be anxiously waiting for the next video, I also think that some names that are not literal translations are even better than the originals (and I'm a guy who usually prefers direct and literal translations, 1 by 1), Pernalonga and Tico e Teco are great examples of that, but Vampira for me is the one who wins the podium, it's soooo much better than the original, its sound is extremely metal, heavy, alwasome as f*ck and it suits the character so much, the original sounds simply generic and plan.
Demolidor is equally badass as Vampira but unlike her his name has absolutely nothing to do with the character, in this case I would prefer a less badass name but one that makes more sense like "Demonio Vermelho", "Endiabrado", "o Audacioso" or "o Temerário".

@@extremeranking it was very good, I just think it shouldn't be separated into two videos, I completely understand the reason for this and I think it's completely plausible and valid, but I think it get weird anyway, the people in this video will have to remember what happened here when they watch the next one (I know I won't be able to remember everything, even if it was just a week) and it's even weirder for those who will get to know the channel by watching the next video, people will notice that he has to watch this video first, pause halfway de vídeo and maybe in this moment something else catch her attention and ends up leaving the channel without seeing either of them, but for a first video like this it's fine, the quality of the content remains good.
