    Suzumi here isn’t necessarily strong or difficult; rather she has an incredibly difficult ability to keep track of. Suzumi fights you like a cat toying with a mouse so to speak using very simple and lackadaisical attacks by themselves, however with her manipulation of memories and time to a degree those attacks will force you to have to keep track of many things at once all the while still making sure not to get hit by the main attacks.
    Difficulty - Normal
    Team - Shrine Team: Tsubakura Enraku, Yabusame Houlen & Shion
    Stage 6 - Senri Shrine Road (far)

    Fun Fact: Apparently out of the entire cast it's friggin CLAUSE who knows the true nature of Suzumi's abilities (split personalities and all) and even picks up on her time travel before his boss fight (and taunts + laughs at her face since she can't kill him). FRIGGIN. CLAUSE.

    • @MegamanOmega184
      @MegamanOmega184  6 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      That was friggin' hilarious seeing their reaction to their ability not affecting Clause. Since it doesn't seem to work on both Clause and Yabusame I wonder if an ability like manipulating memories and whatnot just doesn't work right on someone that's an idiot.

      (senpai noticed!) Personally I think Yabusame's immunity may be due to her Dimensional Detatchment. Since she "moves" through dimensions "at will" and is "detached" from "reality". As for Clause's case it seems to hint that he knew about Suzumi's split personalities before Mugenri since he references it in Len'en EE. Also, it makes me think Clause is gonna be a future playable character (I think they originally were planned to be one so the chances are high). I personally think if we ever do get to see Suzumi defeated it'd be in a game where both Yabusame and Clause are playable. It'd be utterly hilarious to see Clause put an end to Suzumi's reign of terror! (Also if he ever does can you pick him just to mess with the editor?)

    Suzumi is a character that JynX really went all out to portray. He used pretty much every trick he could to make him as creepy as possible, especially considering what he did with Suzumi _after_ his debut.

    16:55 Oddly appropriate, considering it's Suzumi...
    Ironically enough, Koishi herself would be Gensokyo's best bet against Suzumi. Since it's been stated multiple times that her mindlessness makes her immune to most mental attacks.
    Speaking of KKHTA, I highly doubt there could *EVER* be a good ending, by now. Even the semi-last episode ends on an oddly conclusive note that could count as an ending if the final episode ends up never coming out... And it ends on a huge downer...
    Ironically, the series would've probably had a less bad ending with Suzumi since I doubt that even Hamee would be okay with the Lunarians' plans...

    Quick question, Suzumi ‘s ability to manipulate memory... that’s also count toward the memory of reality right? Being able to replicate event, and even manipulating it.
    In her hand, that’s practically the perfect weapon for psychopath.

    • @MegamanOmega184
      @MegamanOmega184  6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Yes and no. Basically the way I understand it is to imagine Suzumi's ability like time travel Assassin's Creed style.
      They can manipulate memories quite easily in the present both making you remember and forget things on a whim (be them their appearance or attacks or what have you). But Suzumi can also collect people's memories into books and can also travel "to the past" by going through said memories of multiple people.
      However said ability is only useful if history unfolds the way it did in the first place. Something happening to the person they're observing (such as Hooaka getting their arm chapped off) will cause it to mess up cause they'll remember what happened even after they rewind. "Deja vu" as they put it and it'll ruin the effort they put into it cause then they won't be able to predict what'll happen in the present/future.

      Battlewise Suzumi. The whole memory and history manipulation going into her attacks was _really_ clever and I'd never seen anyone do anything like that before this fight.
      Lorewise also Suzumi really. Though that's mainly cause of all the doors they opened with everything they did _after_ the fact.

    Suzumi, the one Len'en I would say I truly hate, and one that spoils BPoHC for me tbh. *sigh* yet loved by fans for what they bring lore-wise to the series. It's always like this with sinister characters like this.
    Just asking, and probably spoilers, but this Suzumi is one part of a whole picture right? I never bothered to read the story, but I do wanna confirm what scant info I have on the informant

    • @MegamanOmega184
      @MegamanOmega184  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There's _a lot_ going on with Suzumi, but much of it is hidden under the surface.
      It's important to note that fan reaction to Suzumi and how Suzumi _actually_ is are pretty much two completely different things. Take the Zero Hour script I played before, where they tend to get _painfully_ flanderized. End result is I tend to see people depict Suzumi as some mixture of the worst aspects of fanon Flandre and Koishi.
      Not to say Suzumi's innocent by any stretch of the word, this Suzumi you see here is still quite sadistic and uncontrollable. However they're only one part of the whole and the more... uncontrollable member of the "team" so to speak. All three facets of Suzumi have it out for Tsubakura, but only one of them is maliciously sadistic about it. The other one for example is actually disgusted by this ones attitude.
      Long and short of it is that Suzumi and Tsubakura have some serious history together and might have even gotten along quite well in the past (somehow the two of them made Kurohebi for example) however something happened and now they're at each others throats. Suzumi seems to understand that the Tsubakura we've seen thus far is essentially holding back and could most likely get out of any direct confrontation. So the three facets of Suzumi have been concocting this grandiose scheme (that technically started now and all the way back in Len'en 1) to give them the edge they need to take Tsubakura out.

    • @korohacker
      @korohacker 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's quite the scheme tbh. And one of three facets huh?
      Hmm, can't say I like them any better after knowing this, but I guess it's because Suzumi's personality is how I was when I first experienced depression to the point of being almost bipolar, murderous and malevolent, and I do mean murderous with a side of sadism. It's unpleasant seeing it being played out here, when I've pulled myself out of that hellhole xD
      But thanks, you saved me a lot of time reading the story with this succinct summary

    • @MegamanOmega184
      @MegamanOmega184  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For what its worth Suzumi is less like "murderous, bipolar and sadistic" and it's more like two different people controlling the same body (and I highly suspect able to use different aspects of the ability as well).
      Blue eyed sadistic Suzumi you see in this video (who's known as Hamie) and red eyed Suzumi (known as Ardey) work together for the same "goal" but don't really get along _at all_ with the former complaining about the latters stiff, crude and unimaginative attitude while Ardey dislikes Hamie's flippant and uncaring attitude and how he keeps having to keep her in check to make sure she doesn't ruin anything (also interesting to note he actually feared at one point that all the rewinding they had to do has been causing her to get more and more murderous). As such it actually is quite entertaining to see these two bicker back and forth, especially when a third party gets involved. Like their reaction when Clause shown up and revealed that he knew their ability didn't work on him, but he also knew they couldn't kill him either.
      I don't think it'll really make you _like_ Suzumi any more, but it is important to note that there's _A LOT_ more to Suzumi than just "crazy, sadistic, murder, yandere" that I see a lot of people depict them as.

      Those first two attacks look like hot garbage but the rest of the fight at least gives you adequate forewarning if you are unable to keep track of it all. I do think you could have explained the final spell a lot better, though - you should mention that every "circle" of bullets moves one "layer" forward with the most forward layer moving to the back each time. It took a while to realize that was going on, so an explanation would have been nice.

    • @Flygoniaks
      @Flygoniaks 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe it's not the lore that makes them unlikable. Could it be the fights? The music? The personality? Would they be considered overrated by the fans? (I know jack about this series, sorry.)

    • @korohacker
      @korohacker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To me it's the character itself. Suzumi is such a dark and opposite character in a nonsensical setting like Mugenri that they stood out like a sore thumb. And fans noticed, and latch on to them because they are so interesting lore-wise.
      Having had some traumatic experience regarding relationships in the past where I was manipulated by a supposed 'friend', I hated Suzumi and what they brought to the series, an unnecessary dark tone with murders and mind manipulation and whatnot

    • @SackyBalls444
      @SackyBalls444 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      korohacker I find Suzumi's inclusion refreshing (rather than 'unnecessary') as it gives Len'en's story a bit of a different flavor than Touhou. Mugenri isn't obligated to be as carefree and nonsensical as Gensokyo, and I dare say it would simply pale in comparison were it simply to continue upon that route. Gensokyo is more interesting as a mostly-cheerful fantasy world.
      There are already darker elements to Mugenri; the winner of a spellcard duel may issue an order to the loser that they must obey, even if the order is suicide. Failure to do so will result in the world itself erasing them (JynX's words). There's also no law or rule against killing someone with danmaku. It's still a rather goofy series, but it was never completely lighthearted.

    • @Fulisha
      @Fulisha 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From a few that I know of, some don't like how Suzumi is handled, particularly his addition to the past 3 games. He doesn't exactly contribute much to lore other than his dialogue with Clause and Tsurubami being somewhat interesting (unless Clause is just talking big) imo I myself kinda expected to learn more lore with Suzumi memory diving, but it ends up being lackluster and kinda pointless because you don't learn anything new.
