I feel the same feeling as you, unfamiliar sound like 2 different song combine together, but this song grow on me as time being and now I addicted to it.
Most YG songs have always been like that though, since Bigbang, they feel like 3-4 different songs combined into one but that's what makes them fun and interesting and makes you want to listen more after your first one. They're proven to be effective :)

The production team does a lot of naked switches (cutting out the bass/drums and then building back up) in this song. It's a lot harder to either pick up or feel the transitions when you pause in the middle. And some listeners only tolerate this once per song. One of my SM pilled friends said the transitions "weren't skillful". To me it's a completely different transition philosophy that relies on underlying beats and dance sensibilities to become cohesive. Fwiw, I didn't experience it as non-cohesive, even the first time, but others did (as you can see from the comments).
It's their best release so far. The mv was gorgeous. I loooove the chorus and rap verses were great. It's suck in my head already.
