Venture Bros is 100% a parody of old pulp adventure heroes. Doctor Jonas Venture is especially a parody of Doc Savage. Like Phantom Limb is a parody of The Phantom (who was a transition from pulp heroes to super heroes), as well as the French character Fantômas (who was a transition from Gothic novel villains to modern serial killers and supervillains). Jonny Quest is basically a whole pulp sci-fi fantasy adventure cartoon series. Venture Bros is a parody of a TON of things, but on the most fundamental initial level, it's VERY MUCH built as a parody of Jonny Quest, AND since Cartoon Network eventually realized they owned Jonny Quest, it's actually a canonical sequel to Jonny Quest. Like Brock Samson is a DIRECT stand-in for Race Bannon. And we even see that Race and Brock both used to work together as part of the OSI (Office Of Secret Intelligence). Race Bannon is clearly based very much on pulp heroes like Doc Savage. And then the OSI itself is a mash-up of SHIELD and GI-Joe. Their enemies are The Guild Of Calamitous Intent (VERY loosely of The Legion Of Doom, The Masters Of Evil, and HYDRA) and SPHINX (very clearly based on Cobra). Hank & Dean Venture themselves are a parody mash-up. He also started the hero avoids killing his enemies trope The Shadow and the Spider both gun down their baddies, Doc and his team would use sleep gas grenades, punching them out, or “mercy bullets” with were low powered rounds coated with a powerful sleeping agent. Johnny Quest, Fantastic Four, and even adventurous hero’s like Indiana Jones has a lot of Doc Savage in their DNA.

One version of Gridman, I think this one? Hyper Agent Gridman? (in the style of Power Ranger, VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, etc) was the basis for Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. The American show is also the basis for the name of the anime version of Gridman - SSSS Gridman. With the SSSS as a nod to the American Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad show.

Ive read all the doc savage novels when i was young . Pretty much a jacked up version of indiana jones .
there is a lore, the current columbia picture girl was modeled after a model coming out of grad because she knew a guy, she never had to work again after that.
The "torch lady of Columbia" is Columbia - the Goddess Of The United States. She's a Greco-Roman-style goddess, one of the national personifications, like Brittannia is for Britain, or "Mother Russia" is for Russia, or Marianne for France, Germania, Roma, Hibernia, Hispania, Helvetia, Polonia, etc etc etc etc etc. Columbia has been largely supplanted by Libertas (Lady Liberty, as in the Statue Of Liberty) as the personification of the United States, due to their extreme similarities, and to a lesser degree Uncle Sam, who is the personification of the US Government and military. I should add that Libertas is the ACTUAL Roman Goddess Of Liberty. Columbia, Marianne, and a few others are actually seen as incarnations of Libertas, or perhaps her daughters. Aspects of Libertas. And Libertas herself is an extension of the Greek goddess Eleutheria (whose name I can never remember).

Gotta HARD disagree on Batfleck. I think he was just awful casting and can't act (the closest he got to successfully acting is in Chasing Amy, and that's still like a 7.5/10 performance), and I remain baffled at how basically ALL of his Batsuits were SO BAD that they managed to make him look fat and out of shape (when obviously Affleck himself wasn't). I mean I don't think we can blame the batsuits on him, but yeesh. The Flash batsuit certainly DID look terrible in the movie, but I think the design itself was actually his BEST batsuit, if the Hot Toys figure is anything to go by. It looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better as an action figure, and it's the ONLY Batflecksuit that doesn't make him look like fat chungus Batman. With all his other suits I can just look at a still picture of him and HEAR his heavy labored breathing. >_> But, honestly, I look at that Hot Toys figure and I actually think it looks pretty cool.🤷♂ I think either something must've just gone wrong between taking the design from paper/model form and turning it into a full-blown practical suit, OR Hot toys did something to fix the design......because otherwise I really don't understand why it looks SO BAD in the movie. I have theories about what they changed, and why it looks different, but I don't care enough to make sure. Also, Affleck should get basically no credit for the warehouse fight. Let's be real, that was just stuntmen and CGI. They could (and should) do that with every Batman. Minus all the murder.
