I have always used Windows and think it's an amazing perk. I'm not the best looper and dealing with other team members who randomly throw pallets it's great to know my surroundings and what is available

I never really thought of it this way, but you're right. Windows is a good insurance perk for solo queue or making sure that you can account for lousy team-mates or in-the-moment-decisions that would add up if not for it. I never really noticed it until you pointed it out, so thanks.
Another thing is, that if someone is in a chase near you and drops a pallet you will see it. Which is nice on indoor maps like RPD or Midwich. You know where the killer is and probably where he could come from

most of my mates quit so my survivor gameplay is mostly soloQ, WoO+DH+kindred is pretty much my standard loadout with the last perk being based on what type of challenge/daily i gotta do
I've used it consistently ever since I got it, due to a really bad memory I always forget map tiles and where the best loops are so it's a real life saver
NGL I use windows a lot. 💗 With the layouts of the map always being randomly generated windows is the only way to get to the loops you need efficiently since that is the only resource you have against a killer in chase, and you run out of it quickly between 4 people even with the best loopers. Also nice to know what has been used already. It's a great perk to practice looping with as well and the killer can always counter with changing targets, defending gens and perks like bamboozle, blood favor, spirit fury, eduring, sandbagging survivor teammates lol, etc. if it is giving them troubles. Oh yeah, if a survivor is giving me a headache as killer, I try my best to ignore them and go after someone else. Good killers try not to fall for the sunk-cost fallacy. Changing targets and defending generators is the best way to deal with strong survivors. No perks can replace good game sense. Importantly, though, that goes for Windows of Opportunity, too!

As killer I do the same as you said, I don't mindlessly focus one survivor who is obviously running me very well. That just gives them the game and gens. I switch targets, pressure gens, and try to mind game a bit; not too much as well. Many times games like these are lost because of the killer or survivors mistakes.😁
I have been using windows with literally every single build for the last 8 months. I don’t take it off ever, and it makes looping killers so much easier. I know the maps, but knowing 100% where I’m going to go after I get done with my current loop helps sooo much, especially when linking multiple loops together Edit: also my go to build is iron will, lightweight, windows, and prove thyself

Wow incredible chain looping. I ran windows and went to a dead zone by accident 🤣 but I am growing to love it. I didn't run it for a while because all the lit up areas overwhelmed me and I couldn't focus. Now I'm more used to it. Well done!
15:28 It amazes me how long you can loop a killer with no stress on a teammate to do gens and 75% of the time nothing gets done. I can loop a killer for atleast 3 minutes most the time and i hate when it’s for nothing. Solo q d for 3 years and now i won’t get into a surv game unless i’m with atleast one swf 😵💫😵💫
This was a really great lesson in looping in general. Windows is one of my favorite perks, tbh; I like running it with lithe, vigil, and either resilience or adrena-win.
I run Windows of Opportunity for the most part and will occasionally switch out perks for different combos: ° Lithe (or Head On for surprise stuns), Quick & Quiet, Dance with Me (or Self-Aware/Fixated for inconsistent, fast fading scratch marks), and WOO - This perk loadout is good for confusing the killer during chase; the sound/visual cue after you vault a pallet or window is hidden and your scratch marks disappear for a bit. Killers will end up looping themselves a lot of the time, lol. Highly recommend.
I actually started using Windows of Opportunity after trying Zanshin on some killers - it works really well on Clown as you can see where survivors are heading and cut them off with bottles. They are both underrated perks.
Been using this perk for a few months now, defo one of those underrated perks! Its crack! Also running "Lucky Break" too, which is the best "hiding scratch marks" perks (used to run 'Dance with me/deception) but lucky break always comes in crutch exactly when you need it and it can be replenished with healing others.
I run Deception with Lucky Break sometimes for when I'm not wounded. I also love chaining those to Bite the Bullet with a Medkit+Styptic. Killers literally go blind when you're using BtB. Take a hit, circle a corner, duck behind something and just instantly begin quietly healing. It literally works 90% of the time, the styptic is for the other 10%. I have been really evil lately and also added in Diversion for some extra fun. I usually get accused of cheating. 🤣

We would usually be talking about maps where you cant take 7 steps without another pallet being there, perma loops that are linked directly to other perma loops, large areas with no cover to be able to protect from flashlight saves and or hook spacing like old rpd where if they brought boil over there was no chance of reaching a hook but you then get flamed and reported for slugging when there is just no other choice.
Honesty maps should not have randomness.Make it 1 to 3 variants of the map this way you can control tiles and nerf them / remove stuff when needed and it will still feel varied
And so many ppl call this a beginners perk. Don't care what anyone says, it's good no matter what. So many streamers and videos I hear "there should be a pallet here why is it broken?" You'd know if you had WOO. Keeps you from going to a dead zone. Awesome plays as always 👌

been enjoying Windows, Smash hit, Flashbang, Head On lately (might start using more Parental Guidance too). good times stunning and blinding the killer in drawn out chases, especially during latest seasonal events with additional firecrackers. love dropping my flashbang / firecracker at stun or pallet break
My personal favorite perk combination as of late has been WIndows of Opportunity, Overcome, Desperate Measures, and Kindred! I have been playing with it off and on for a few weeks and it has given me a LOT of success!

I thinkt that it would make more sense for windows to stay the same but have pallet and window density slightly decreased. If this can be done without counterplay by anyone based solely on having more knowledge then it's because the map is too strong

I’ve been using windows of opportunity for years when I used to play constantly. Getting back into the game recently and I’ve noticed that the killer meta has changed from what I remember back early 2021 when nemesis came out
People say Midwich is a killer sided map, yet my last time there was spent having survivors wiggle free from me because for some reason BHVR thought it was a good idea to have literally only 2 hooks spawn on the first floor, both on opposite hallways.
That has happened so ridiculously often on that map, but it is perfectly in line with BHVR "I think we have done a pretty good job so far" mentality. The maps are just trash really, and it is ridiculous that hooks break creating deadzones where the killer literally can not hook anyone if they go down there.
that's not because of the map, the hook spawn algorithm is just junk, it happens on all maps, sometimes you have no hooks in an area and another game there's 2 hooks 6ft apart from each other
Using windows of opportunity allowed me to be able to run loops really effectively and be able to string them together better. Now when coming to a tile like a TL or a Jungle Gym or even Shack its muscle memory. Changed the way I played in chase both as a killer and survivor
The whiplash i got when I saw this Kate outfit and thought it was me LMAO. It's the exact same one I wear as a Kate main to the point where someone called it my trademark skin because it's all I wear in dbd
As a killer main I believe running zanshin tactics is a super strong perk. As it may seem that it doesnt do much it can counter set pathing by wop and depending on the killer zoning is extremely easy to do.
I run Dead Hard/Windows/Deja Vu/Resilience in solo queue. Even if your team sucks you can get the tough gens done early, even quicker injured plus DH and a boost on vaults in chase.
windows is such a nice perk. was running it and open handed the other day and it enabled me to run a bubba for a 5 gen chase lol. died at the end when he downed and facecamped me but id say that was some good value
I run Windows of Opportunity, Lightweight, DH and Kindred without exception. With new HUD updates though I'll probably start to experiment with something other than Kindred. I swear Windows and Lightweight are criminally underrated perks.
I’ve been using this perk since day one before all the hype, it’s really good especially if you don’t really know maps very well and for maps that the pallets change positions.
One of perks with the highest pick rates, and yet so many people blow it off as a noob-tube type of thing. As though being experienced at the game gives you perfect map awareness of all of the procedurally generated escape tools you have.
Windows of Opportunity is a perk I didn't care for at first, started using it to actually try and learn tiles and stuff more, and eventually just started naturally running it so I always know what my options are even late into the match after most of the resources have been shredded. Not the greatest looper in the world but even still having that info means I'll last more than a few seconds because I won't accidentally run into an already broken pallet. Personally, I'm just glad to have an actually strong survivor info perk instead of second chances galore. Always preferred info and second chance perks are just downright unfun.
Windows, Circle of healing, prove thyself, deadhard/off the record. Build so unoriginal and picked by every tryhard that it hurts. Although it's more fun to see people say "prove is absolutely fine" or "offerings are ok" and then run into 100500+ of thoes every match against swf on cowshed because of their insecurity on smaller maps, getting gens done while you double back after faking to leave, not even in a chase.
This honestly explains a LOT of the really "sweaty" survivors I run into these days, you'd have to be a looping savant to catch a decent survivor with Windows
literally was just debating w myself to buy Kate or Vasquez and something told me to go w Kate and im glad I did. I've been wanting her since I started playing, mainly bc she was cute. I'll tell u my whole play style has changed. knowing the layout and where is safe has helped me so much during chase and im definitely more confident and want to take on chase. I don't think I want to play w/o the perk again
Thank you and exactly. Been telling people to run Bond or Empathy or just info perks in general to counter Eruption, but most people refuse to even try it. I literally never get hit by Eruption (like 4 times since it was buffed) because I tend to run info perks.
Lol I remember being obsessed with windows way back when it had a cooldown. Don't really use it anymore but good to see people are realising how strong it can be
Windows is probably the best Solo Survivor perk. Being able to see pallets and windows is not only handy to be able to go from one place to another without having to guess, but shows you how many resources you have left so you aren't running to a dead loop caused by another teammate. And if you run Open Handed? Oh boy, it gets even better.
I’m an awful looper and always used Windows as a crutch. It definitely helps in knowing as well when my teammates needed to use pallets prior to me being chased in the area
I love to go whole hog on the aura reading: Kindred, Windows of Opportunity, Open-Handed, and Visionary. Granted, Visionary and Open-handed could be left out for dead hard and adrenaline, but I mean come on.

Its actually a decent counter to windows.

This feels like a perk where the issue isn't the perk itself but it accentuates how the maps themselves are unbalanced.
Yep, it's a perfectly balanced perk by itself. You trade a perk slot to improve your pathing, which all players get better at over time.
It's probably bad to take it to the game, since your entire screen would be filled with glowing yellow pallets yaknow?

It used to be 24m (not 32m) & had 20sec cd after vault or pallet drop.

this is one of my favorite perks! I love Kate! I run it with Lithe, Dance With Me, and usually a trade off fourth perk. Right now it's blast mine.

Using windows of opportunity allowed me to be able to run loops really effectively and be able to string them together better. Now when coming to a tile like a TL or a Jungle Gym or even Shack its muscle memory. Changed the way I played in chase both as a killer and survivor

As a killer main I believe running zanshin tactics is a super strong perk. As it may seem that it doesnt do much it can counter set pathing by wop and depending on the killer zoning is extremely easy to do.

I run Dead Hard/Windows/Deja Vu/Resilience in solo queue. Even if your team sucks you can get the tough gens done early, even quicker injured plus DH and a boost on vaults in chase.
I have bad eyes, so Windows always is a nice perk to have. I hope with its sudden spike of use it wont get nerfed somehow lol
windows is such a nice perk. was running it and open handed the other day and it enabled me to run a bubba for a 5 gen chase lol. died at the end when he downed and facecamped me but id say that was some good value

I run Windows of Opportunity, Lightweight, DH and Kindred without exception. With new HUD updates though I'll probably start to experiment with something other than Kindred. I swear Windows and Lightweight are criminally underrated perks.

I’ve been using this perk since day one before all the hype, it’s really good especially if you don’t really know maps very well and for maps that the pallets change positions.

I've always used this perk before they made it to see structures all the time and it's my favorite perk
One of perks with the highest pick rates, and yet so many people blow it off as a noob-tube type of thing. As though being experienced at the game gives you perfect map awareness of all of the procedurally generated escape tools you have.
The 3 v 1 against Legion may have been one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

Windows of Opportunity is a perk I didn't care for at first, started using it to actually try and learn tiles and stuff more, and eventually just started naturally running it so I always know what my options are even late into the match after most of the resources have been shredded. Not the greatest looper in the world but even still having that info means I'll last more than a few seconds because I won't accidentally run into an already broken pallet.
Personally, I'm just glad to have an actually strong survivor info perk instead of second chances galore. Always preferred info and second chance perks are just downright unfun.
Windows, Circle of healing, prove thyself, deadhard/off the record. Build so unoriginal and picked by every tryhard that it hurts. Although it's more fun to see people say "prove is absolutely fine" or "offerings are ok" and then run into 100500+ of thoes every match against swf on cowshed because of their insecurity on smaller maps, getting gens done while you double back after faking to leave, not even in a chase.
I used to run lithe and dance with me with windows! I’d switch out the forth perk for some variation, but it often was adrenaline or alert

This honestly explains a LOT of the really "sweaty" survivors I run into these days, you'd have to be a looping savant to catch a decent survivor with Windows

literally was just debating w myself to buy Kate or Vasquez and something told me to go w Kate and im glad I did. I've been wanting her since I started playing, mainly bc she was cute. I'll tell u my whole play style has changed. knowing the layout and where is safe has helped me so much during chase and im definitely more confident and want to take on chase. I don't think I want to play w/o the perk again
Windows with empathy is one of the most effective way to counter eruption but that would require giving up a meta perk so nobody will do that
Thank you and exactly. Been telling people to run Bond or Empathy or just info perks in general to counter Eruption, but most people refuse to even try it. I literally never get hit by Eruption (like 4 times since it was buffed) because I tend to run info perks.

Windows is probably the best Solo Survivor perk. Being able to see pallets and windows is not only handy to be able to go from one place to another without having to guess, but shows you how many resources you have left so you aren't running to a dead loop caused by another teammate. And if you run Open Handed? Oh boy, it gets even better.
I’m an awful looper and always used Windows as a crutch. It definitely helps in knowing as well when my teammates needed to use pallets prior to me being chased in the area
