My favorite line from Doug in this review:
*I WANT MY… I WANT MY… I WANT MY M-16!*
it wasn't even an M60
Pretty sure he said M16
💥💥💥💥💥
It wasn't either the M60 or M-16. It looks like a G36. Still, the sentiment is shared.
What my brain thinks whenever I'm watching a really bad movie...that and wishing for alcohol to help erase the memory of it.
15:23, well congratulations we've officially found a creepier teddy bear than Teddy Ruxpin.
True fact: the software used for this was only meant for training and not commercial use. The producer Colin Slater is actually a bit of a conman who almost scammed the lost media expert who requested the episode for preservation until many called him out for it. He also released another special called dinosaur island that I believe never aired and Mark Hamill stayed to voice the main character. Saberspark reviewed if you’re curious to see how bad it turned out.
Was Mark Hamil on the flight logs or something and they threatened to release his name? Why did he stay?!
I know a pay check is a pay check, but seriously, standards!
@@geistgrace6452 no idea apart from stuff that was said by the lost media guy and the daughter of one of the people that worked on it, not much is known about the behind the scenes beyond the fact there no direction for it and Colin Slater never saw any of it until the team told him they were finished.
@@geistgrace6452 barely even did anything to justify it being him. Would have saved using commercial actors, but you know celebrities bring in the audience, but the fact that rapsitte was only aired once and never mentioned again says that even the network and creators knew this was bad for the time. Honestly, makes more sense if it was some cheap money laundering scheme made by Colin Slater.
From what I heard after watching Rebel Taxi’s video on it, Nancy Cartwright is the reason for those movies getting the cast it did. She was friends with Colin through The Church Of Scientology and used her connections within the industry to get the voice cast on board
@@mrcritical6751I can't tell if this is a joke or the honest to god truth.
The worst part is that Jimmy Neutron came out the same year as this movie.
And its a whole lot better than that crap!!
Oof, that must sting
Even Tin Toy looks better.
I actually met Page O’Hara at a Comic Con shortly after this review came out, and of course I asked her about this short.
😎
She told me she barely remembered her involvement in this production, but she was wondering why several other people suddenly started asking her about it!
😅
This movie is Nick's personal hell. Honestly, it's EVERYONE'S personal hell.
Whatever the amount of booze I had to forget after I watched this for the first time, *it's still not enough.*
Jesus, not since Movie 43 have I wondered "How the hell did they get so many high profile actors involved in this?"
@@chrisandrews1314 Scientology connections. Colin Slater seemingly met Nancy Cartwright at a meeting at one point.
Fun Fact: The reason why the Great Grandmother's voice was corrupted gibberish is because for some reason the audio track got damaged during recording and the producers STUPIDLY decided to leave it in and not re-record it.
Actually that was a rumor, it turns out that she was just asked to do that. She confirmed it in an interview, even did the voice too.
@@UnderTheUmbrella_ Wait... it was on PURPOSE????
This was indeed the final time The Critic had EXTREMELY over the top Christmas Intros where he blew up entire universes......Which was a shame because with the multiverse being a big deal in movies, I thought for sure he'd one day try to destroy a multiverse next
Maybe he will this year....
It sucks that Stardust Reactions had to shut down in 2021, because between 2017 to 2020, it was just such a fun time. It was the closest I got to be in a Nostalgia Critic review, with my reaction picked among others for his Home Alone 2 review.
This was a scientology production. This was a special created by scientologists. In case you don't Nancy Cartwright herself is a scientologist and has been since 1991. Which explains her producing credit. The rest of the voice actors probably agreed to this because they're friends.
*2002 CGI films/shorts:* Barbie Rapunzel, Ice Age, Jonah a VeggieTales Movie, The ChubbCubbs!, Santa vs The Snowman, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (mixed CGI with hand drawn), VeggieTales: The Star of Christmas, Pixar's Mike's New Car, and Rapsitte Street Kids.
These movies/shorts had superior animation compared to Rapsitte! I'll go cry now.
30:25 i love watching people's reaction to Grandma talking. Its so nonsensical and awful that I'm baffled that it even exists. This can't be real.
Worst thing is she was ASKED to do that, she confirmed it in an interview and even acted it out during it
I was silently waiting for this reaction, my patience has been rewarded. Wasn't expecting to see it be uploaded in August tho 😂😂
Dude I was hoping y'all would react to this at some point! Classic! And I thought Foodfight was bad
I'm offended so much vocal talent is attached to this disaster.
This film looks worse than Foodfight with a plot that makes Disaster Movie sound like an Oscar winner
The look on your faces when he brought up the cast.
I feel like Joshua and the Promise Land has more effort in the animation than this
At first glance it doesn't appear so. But when you look deeper and pay attention, you'll realize that Joshua is a better animated film. For one, 3D environments. Rapsittie environments are just 2D backgrounds with the 3D character models moving on top of it. Joshua has their characters in an 3d world where they interact with other characters and things and walk around. There's also more complex camera movement in Joshua than Rapsittie. Notice that the only camera movement in Rapsittie is zooming in or zooming out. Joshua has the camera following characters or doing 90 degree turns. The reason being once again the fact that Joshua is in a 3D world while Rapsittie is exclusively drawn backgrounds so the camera isn't allowed to move around freely like in Joshua. So yes, there was more effort and better Animation in Joshua and the Promised Land. Gah! I feel like a committed a cardinal sin praising Joshua.
Yes to the animation claim, but this had marginally better writing (not by much).
@@dragonmaster613, tbh, I think both Joshua and Rapsittie Street kids have boring and terrible writing
@@sarahhiversoeur3759 oh I didn't mean to say it was good, just I would rather suffer this than the other if held in a Saw movie style torture chamber.
16:05 the creator of this movie did make another movie called "Dinosaur Island" basically a time traveling Jurassic park adventure. saberspark reviewed it
"Anyone else getting a feeling this was a student's final project for an intro into 3D Animation class? One that had a great big *F* ON IT!!!"
An F and expelled!!!!
Well I did my final project in 3D Game Art recently. With designs, animations, and textures included, and guess what! I got a 92% ,which is an A-, my whole class grade for the semester was an A! I am such a better designer and programmer than the people who made this shit.
Speaking of Paige O'Hara, she sang this special's ending song with Peabo Bryson, who sang the ending song from Beauty and the Beast with Celine Dion.
The story behind this is fascinating and once I heard it, I actually had respect for the animators for being able to do even this much. Apparently the director found a program that was meant to be easy for kids and armatures to do 3D animation (Think Microsoft paint compared to adobe) and he was convinced that it was going to revolutionize the industry. So he forced the dev team to use it despite them saying again and again that the program wasn't meant for this.
*I did not make it, it's not true ! It's bullshit ! I did not make it ! I did naaaht. Oh hai, Door*
I hope they watch Doug's Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer review, 'cause that has the best Christmas song ever at the end.
39:55 Oh god it's the ice-cream bunny
10:17 I mean… to be fair, Grey DeLisle is more in the same league as actors like Tom Kenny and Tara Strong, who are pretty much unheard of aside from the cartoon fandom.
I keep thinking this was made on google sketchup and you know what I’m convinced whoever made this blackmailed the celebrities involved because there’s no way they would’ve said yes to this and this is something the cw wanted to work on the same network that brought you supernatural wanted this
It’s considered a confirmed fact that the producer Colin Slater likely met Nancy Cartwright at a Scientology meeting and that’s how talks to developing this got started.

Critic: “I want my, I want my, I want my M60!”
*Pulls out G36C
I watched this entire video just so I could see your reaction to the grandma talking. That was easily the funniest thing in the whole review for me.
I've been waiting for this!
Three other notables voices:
Clint Howard (brother of Ron Howard and voice of Hathi Jr. from the original Jungle Book) as Tug, the fat bully
April Winchell (Mrs. Finster from Recess) as Lenee's grandmother (not the mumbling one)
Jack Angel (Astrotrain from the original Transformers cartoon) as Lenee's dad
I love Grey delise she’s the voice of Lola Lana and Lilly in the loud house
33:28 I literally paused this video went downstairs and punched my punching bag for 8 minutes because I was so mad 😂
12:33 Perfect synchronisation.
Glad you at least watched this in the summer so it couldn’t ruin your Christmas season this year.
Sooo the reason the gandma's lines were so well that is from what I've heard some sort of audio glitch.
Funnily enough no, that was a rumor. She was ASKED to do that, she confirmed during an interview and even DID IT during to show she wasn't joking lol
when i watch nostagia critic i think of angry video game nerd, angry joe, angry black nerd which is part of a small shared universe while others are a separate version which is something like a youtuber who has friends that have channels too.
They’re being Drama Queens against Steven
Surprised I haven’t had nightmares after seeing this review…
I was wondering when you'd react to this video, I wasn't expecting it to be in August though. Hopefully you react to the Nutcracker in 3D video (during the season)
I honestly would like to see them react to Doug's dark toons
I second this.
Well now I want to see you with his Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer review. Particularly because his Christmas intro is at the end.
38:54 First time I saw this, I didn’t even know what this line has to do with Christmas, since it’s summer during Christmas here in Australia.
You know Bugsnax? The game that Caddy talked about in his PS5 video?
Crazy Grandma's voice actor is in that. I was shocked to see it.
Mark Hamill, Jodi Benson, Paige O'Hara, Grey DeLisle, Walter Jones, Debra Wilson, Nancy Cartwright, Jack Angel, Clint Howard and April Winchell.
ok, how the hell did a shitty low budget ($650,000) xmas special got such a great cast?!
May I suggest Bobsheaux's movie review of 'The Three Wise Men' as a mental detox from this travesty? It's a ride and a half, but FAR better animated
I watched this special from start to finish for Doug’s Stardust promotion. I had one tiny little smirk in the whole thing and unsurprisingly, it was from one of Hamill’s lines. Everything else was pain.
i think you should react to the nostalgia critic's titanic reviews i know you reacted to jontrons years ago i think it be cool if you could do the same for the Critic
0:00-3:36-4:18-6:48-7:17-
Saberspark’s video on this… thing… goes into more detail about a bit of the development of this product and shows even more of just how bad it truly is. Speaking of which, his video on Elf Bowling is VERY interesting with some of the jokes covered in that film (the frequency of some of the more mature jokes almost rivals Foodfight!), and talks about the kind of disturbing development process of it, like how bad Tom Kenny’s recording process ACTUALLY was and also covering one of the musical numbers that is just… offensive (Nostalgia Critic covers this very briefly, but chooses to skip over it).
12:47 that makes the most sense
Walter Jones and Mark Hamill say they barely remember starring in this.
Grey DeLisle says that if anyone asks her about it on Twitter, she just blocks them.
Those Joker audio lines were so good!
They gotta react to double toasted bad movie roast of this movie because they give more background details about the production of this movie and the bad movie roast is hilarious 😆
You guys may enjoy checking out and reviewing Phelous review of this same eyesore, which is even funnier. As for Bob Ross, he is an alternative to a sleep drug because art is boring as shit. I’d rather play classical music in the background than hear that painting or art bullshit.
Check out Phelous' review of this. He commented on the weird laugh animation.
I actually had a Christmas in July for my birthday, because I love Christmas.
Hoops and Yoyo is the best Hallmark Christmas movie, because it's nothing like the others. XD
SaberSpark also has a review of this movie, though I suggest his Gathors Pond review personally
Paige O'Hara voiced Nicole, so Belle´s VA the one who did the cackle after mocking her friend believing in Santa. That cackle the one thing I want to remember, because it is very reusable.
WhenNate sang "holly jolly Christmas", somewhere, a crack formed in Mariah Carrey's icy tomb
I have a theory that this was supposed to look different and everything was on a deadline, but the film got corrupted (which explains grandma’s lines) and everyone rushed to salvage what they could and this is the mess that was left over.
I’m so glad you guys were finally able to watch this review of a dumpster-fire of a movie. I don’t know if you are taking requests for that proposed 24-hour Nostalgia Critic react-a-thon; however I would love to see your reaction to his review for Rubber.
Nickelback and Creed rock.
Deadpool: "I've had it with all of this Nickelback hating, alright? Ya think that makes you cool with the cool kids in school, Fred?"
Fred Savage: "No, it just makes me right."
Deadpool: "It doesn't!"
Fred Savage: "They're overproduced, formulaic ear-garbage."
Deadpool: "Oh, really? You know who might disagree with you on that? *Facts!* 50 Million Albums Sales Worldwide, 11th Best-Selling Musical Act of all time, Billboard's Most Successful Rock Group over the last decade, 6 Grammy nominations, 12 Juno awards- *those count,* 6 Billboard Music Awards, 2 American Music Awards, One People's Choice Award, Canadian, and a partridge in a f-king pear tree."
VeggieTales: The Toy That Saved Christmas came out six years prior to this. A direct to video CG animated video in the mid to late 90s with limited time and resources, and its animation still looks like Pixar compared to this abomination.
And to add salt to the wound, an earlier cut with incomplete animation was accidentally released beforehand. And even then, that version still looked miles better than this.
oof i was Expecting stadia. BUT THIS IS BETTER!!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just looked up this special on IMDB, and found this review somebody left after rating the horrendous POS a 10/10:
Just simple watching this movie isn't enough to see the true beauty and bliss this masterpiece beholds. I touched gods hand just from the first second of the flick. The fact that this has a 1.4 rating is worthy of a death sentence. I blew my load just hearing the soothing voices like melting butter down my throat. This movie, no... this masterpiece is the equivalent of black tar heroin. You're not a true movie buff until your eyes aren't bleached by its beauty.
To put it simple the rays of heaven projecting onto your unworthy flesh will send you straight into a coma if you aren't ready for absolute bliss. 11/10
From what I’ve heard, Jodie Benson blocks anybody who brings this up to her on her social media. It’s her personal shame
There is quite a story to this production. Mostly a scam on the part of one of the producers. The creator didn't know how bad the animation was going to turn out. And Grandma's VA didn't know her dialog would be mixed up.
It's like they spent the majority of the budget on hiring big name voice actors and had next to nothing left for the animation :/
Who else was happier not knowing this film existed?.....And I'm talking "Not even by much because you're battling with crippling depression half your life happier"
Want at least two palette cleansers...The Critic did retrospectives on both "The M&M Characters" and "Garfield and Friends"
It’s animations like this that are the reason why I’m more picky with my animated movies. Also, How much hush money did Slater offer to get so many big names for it? Even bigger question, Why was Mark Hamill willing to come back for Slater’s next movie Dinosaur Island? What even is this?!
Guess christmas came early
How about a reaction to Nostalgia Critic: Turtle Christmas?
This animation is on par with Joshua and the Promised Land.
To this day it still surprises me that this piece of garbage movie has quite a stacked voice cast. The VA's for Ariel & Belle from Disney's The Little Mermaid & Beauty & The Beast, respectively. Debra Wilson from Mad TV fame, and Mark Hamill.
16:12 Well, he won't because he's dead now
Another devilish Christmas animation since Eight Crazy Nights. Review Eight Crazy Nights. Shut that door!
Ok. After hearing everything from the comments, I'm convinced either The actors knew about this and kept it shut like radio silent because it's that bad *Hell, I wouldn't blame them tbh.* or they were bamboozled into the movie like they didn't know they were working with for whatever reason. It's One or the Other.
Please do Critic's Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer review as well.
3:43 you’re welcome
Thanks Caleb.
Thanks Caleb
This movie is great for younger members of the family!
when they cry and complain too much just threaten to put on this movie, they'll behave immediately
Great reaction guys. do you think you could react to Doug reviewing Christmas with the Kranks?
15:93. That rhe best part of the reaction
1:52 i'd rather watch any movie/tv special/tv miniseries made by hallmark back in the day, from late 90s to mid 2000s (Alice in Wonderland, Arabian Nights, Dinotopia, Dune/Children of Dune, EarthSea, Gulliver's Travels, Hercules, Jack & the Beanstalk: The Real Story, Jason & the Argonauts, Journey to the Center of the Earth, King Solomon's Mines, Merlin, Moby Dick, Snow Queen, Snow White: The Fairest of Them All, The 10th Kingdom, The Monkey King and The Odyssey) than watch another hallmark christmas special.
Whats funny I am one of those lucky people who saw this on live tv back in the day. I was like what the hell am I watching>?
8:41 what’s with the aquatic ambience?
Probably for nostalgia sake.
