Uranium Mining in the Grand Canyon

Sandy Bahr of the Sierra Club gives a brief history and status report of uranium mining in the Grand Canyon as of October, 2019. There is a bill that just passed with the Congress to protect the surrounding land from uranium mining for the indefinite future, but it still needs to pass the Senate.

There's also abandoned uranium mines under lake Powell (when it was still a river). As the water gets lower I can only imagine what this means for our drinking water
