@@Riaining7as bad as Riot is they always fix those kinds of fundamental code issues which limit their ability because they want to have those game breaking mechanics like when they introduce Sylas and after Viego.

@@kexcz8276 Nope, the other TF2, lol. The entire game's code is glued together using a file named Coconut.vtf/.vtm(that if exported to an image using some tools shows an actual coconut lmao), just like old Skarner here is carrying League's code on his own.
The last remnant of the crystal scar is gone.
It's such a shame the retcon happened. But that's why they made everything canon I guess.

I want a cinematic where Cho'Gath tries to devoure the world but Scarner and Malphite are going into a two vs one Kaiju fight against him meanwhile Zilean tries to make sure that this fight will not destroy the region by sending them into the past where the world was still just a rock in space with an atmosthere and raw magic.
Sorry, best we gonna get is another cinematic of Kaisa doing absolutely nothing and [insert female champ] doing also absolutely nothing

skarner wasn´t holding only the game code together but also the lore of hextech, i liked the idea of piltover exploiting another race. it was dark and showed that even with all their shine they have darkness in their back. Guess piltover will now be simple good guys

I like how a lot of people complain about the rework but no one played him. Just like with Aatrox.
Also they should make traditional skarner skin
Aatrox was quite popular just before his rework because they finally balanced him a few months before deleting him.
As a Skarner main, I think his rework looks fine, losing his crystal motif is meh, but not a deal breaker. The one thing I'm worried about is that it looks like he'll be weaker top lane, which is my preferred position for old Skarner, since he loses his E-R-E cc chain and the thing that I can't turn while using my ult anymore(which would have been a nice setup for the new E)
If I had to guess id say that the "referencing old code" may have been old champion interactions with the old Skarner pillar mechanic. That's something that all the champs would interact with, so I could see it.

I started LoL when Skarner first came out. This makes me miss the old LoL s2-4 era
My only issue is that they removed the "Dragging" mechanic from his R where you could change direction. Now you are locked facing in the direction you casted your R.

The only think I think I will miss was how fast you could make him and how awesome his laugh is. Now I feel like I actually might be able to get solo kills while playing him. Overall I agree, worth.

People are and was still solo killing. Why now you think you can easly do that? As a toplaner will not really work. We need to see the ad scaling but i doubt will fair any good due the meta and all

I'll definitely be playing some movespeed skarner before the rework goes live. Dragging people a full screen away with ghost + air soul is something that'll absolutely be missed.

He just gets a slow pin ability in Aram now. Or maybe he can still move a short distance through the side walls like Kayn can. It would looks so goofy seeing Skarner fly above the abyss. If Ksante could send a champion from one nexus to the other with his ult (idk if they fixed this), then skarner can fly at the Howling Abyss.

@@Drazard according to analytics websites the lowest pick rate champion in aram has been played 65 thousand times this season and the highest almost 400k, factor that it's random so neither of those 2 shows up every single or every 10 games even - that snarky comment doesn't work.
Unlike TwistedTreeline, Dominion or friggin One for All, Poro king and even URF - ARAM is a popular gamemode with a healthy and big playerbase
I love it. I hate they got rid of the crystal aspect BUT I think he is still very cool in design and mechanics
I hated when they gave him the crystals, it forced him into jungle when I loved him top lane.

They need to expand the kaiju skin line that urgot has with the big boys. Kaiju being : skarner, urgot, malphite, cho gath. Mech (Jaegars) : Nautilus, Galio, Aatrox(he already has a skin). The mech warriors are already kinda this but it would be cool to have a Pacific Rim inspired team.
Galio also have a mech skin in WR

The problem with ASol was his old mechanics were too difficult to handle for most people. That's why only some OTP's were able to manage and utilise his strength and weaknesses. I loved the old ASol where precise movement was key + his roams were incredible. The new one feels more like an AP Nasus that loves to stack and scale until he is ready to 1v9, while old ASol was build around winning other lanes early by his roams and wave clear. Yep they turned this champion by 180°
@@SmartyMcSmartsen you can't tell me he was hard mechanically when champions like Aphelios and Hwei exist. And there is much more harden then he was, he was just different, the feeling of playing him, around his W, was so much different than anything else. So what? That's no reason to do what they did to him. I have tried to play Aurelion Sol, but its just not the champ it once was. I lost a lot of love for the game the day they reworked him.

I think it's his R coding.
His R was the one constant since he released and never changed till now. Champions with "drag" abilities are far and few between but there are many champions that have skills which sort of "Force the target down" for the purpose of a displacement or CC effect.
Things like Pyke's Q come to mind, as well as Renata's Q2 or Darius E.

But as a SW undergrad trying to do functionality with not enough knowledge as I feel I need, I can definitely attest to the issues with having to rewrite my code while learning or attempting to design more maintainable code.

As a Skarner main ever since way back in the day when his E mark healed him.. This excites me that he will have so much to him, but now I gotta fight people for my champion and watch him be banned more than once a year. That'll take more adjusting for me than his kit.

I mained this champion way back when and after they ruined my other champs with reworks, now they finally completely ruined the last one. F*ck this game. This has nothing to do with the unique gameplay Skarner was providing before the stupid crystals in the forest.
