I’ve learned this solo by using your videoe. And now i got a fender stratocaster because my dad said that if i learned his favoruite solo he would buy me a fender stratocaster.
Thats so awesome. This is really cool for me to hear because my dad did the same thing for me when i learned the 'forbidden song' stairway haha. Keep on keeping on!
I think this song in general is very much a direct precursor to what would come to be known as Heavy Metal. Even today it's still an exciting, exhilarating piece of music and the guitar solo has such an elegance, swagger and sexiness to it.

You can hear this influence in Adrian Smith's solos in Iron Maiden :D
I love the way you present the lesson. You slowed it down enough so that an average joe like me can learn it, but not so slow that i get impatient, and not so fast i get frustrated. Thankyou for posting this video.
I like how if you put the video at 1.5x speed, its basically the original tempo . Just goes to show how good the slower tempo you decided to teach it at really is for people trying to learn this.
Thanks for the amazing solo Nikola, really appreciated it. I was trying to find a slow solo and I found your video. It helped out a lot. Please make more solos. Your guitar skills are really nice.
Hey Nikola! I'm so glad I found your channel, you're have easily one of (if no the best) the best guitar lessons on TH-cam. I would like to ask you: what speed are you playing in this lesson? Is it 66% of the original? I can accompany the video speed but the original record (atleast on the fast picking part) seems too far for me. Any tips on how to acchieve the 100% speed? Cheers.
just do the last part over and over and over again. Focus on very minimal and controlled tremolo picking so you don't get tired and slow down. Also, relax as much as possible in both hands for the same reason. The main difficulty is playing it fluidly so get it perfect at this speed and gradually increase as you perfect higher speeds.
Thank you so much for your videos, the most helpful on yt!!! I can approach these solos for the first time in my life. May I ask you how slower it is this one in respect to the original (in order to understand how much I should go faster)? Thank you so much!!!
Very well done, as usual. If i may suggest a solo for next month; I would love to see a lesson on the second solo of Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. :)
Very nice. Best I have seen. Always liked Richiie Blackmore. Only thing. I wish you put Small E on Bottom. This way works but is Different than I have ever seen. Upside Down. Can you do another version with it the other way around???
It's not out of your league. Take small chunks out of it at your own pace. Start with just the first bar SLOWLY! Just strive for perfection in the notes, clear and in time.
Skipped highway star, instead learnt White Lion- Broken Heart, Till death do us part and Firehouse: Here for you. Currently, Skid Row: I remember you. I suck when it comes to speed. Needs lots of practice.. Cheers and Keep rocking ya'll
I can kind of do it, but there is a moment which puts me off guard, on the 17 fret note there is a count start on 1i&a, and the 17 fret is on 1, then silent on "i", so then two empty string notes are always on &a count. at this speed making a stop for a split second is extreme hard. Try slowing it to maximum and play and count in your head until it gets in your mind perfectly, than try to gradually speed it up. Start on the part before 17 fret though to always know when the 17 fret kicks in. Of course first you need to "have" the speed and control and synchro in your hands to be able to play anything this fast. Sorry if you already can do this, but mby this will help someone. Keep practicing ;)

Keep on keeping on!
same thing happened to me xD thx dad
Your father must be so proud
This solo was ahead of its time. It honestly sounds like a metal riff. One of the best classic rock solos ever.

Deep Purple is considered to be one of the pioneers who laid foundation for future hard rock and metal so definitely checks out
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time. Awesome!
OMG THANKS!!! Finally a slow explanation with BIG tabs. This helps a lot.

Great news. Good for you. Now I'm gonna give it a try. Sixty-eight, and I was in high school when this came out. Hope it's not too late to learn.

I can't play the fast part, no matter how I try. I already tried to slow down the video and still nothing. Can anybody give me some advice?
Practice practice practice

👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
Is this a simplified version? Because other lessons show it to be much harder.
Maybe because I'm playing only one guitar. I think this solo has two guitars playing in harmony
@@nikolagugoskiYou did good job, mate, thanks.
Speed X1.50
Why are the marked strings upside down?
