She's a professional makeup artist, I'm sure she knows that black on the waterline closes the eye. This tutorial wasnt about making the eye look bigger though, it was about creating the smokey eye look on someone with small eyes.
You both always pick the most appropriate celebrity inspiration for your models. And I love that you have showed people that small eye can line the water line and get away with it. So many people say not too line small eyes with black, but I think it looked sultry and great on Nicki.
Her model doesn't have really small eyes to begin with. But once she lines the waterline... That definitely makes them smaller. It's a shame, this tutorial just wouldn't suit most people with SMALL eyes.
What if someone has a small eye, like Nicky here, and a small amount of lid space? What are some helpful tips that would help me apply eyeshadow to that type of lid?
What I loved about this look is the lips without gloss. They looked so natural! It's not always necessary to put on gloss. I think her eye makeup is gorgeous and the overall transformation is quite lovely!
Another fabulous tutorial. Thank you! Love this look. I've had MAC tan pigment in my color collection for ages & have never been too sure how to use it. This is perfect.
Nic, I have been watching you and Sam for a few years now and I am always in awe of your talent. I don't know why, maybe it's me seeing things differently, but in this video it really sunk in how masterful you are. You are amazing with color matching and gradients. A really lovely look. Thank you.
I enjoy sooo much when you do make-up on there people, it is so interesting how you apply different techniques in different types of eyes and face shapes, and so on. I just love it! Thank you :D
Amazing! Although I love watching u and Sam, it's been a pleasure to watch u two apply makeup on models recently. I've learned a lot, and it's nice to see how u ladies work! Thanks xox
Love the look, it's really beautiful! a work of art! :) I have small eyes, and I've noticed if I use black eyeliner with matte colors on the lid, it makes my eyes much smaller, but if I use colors that have reflexion or a metallic shine, it instantly opens them up much more. And, folks, know how to use your mascara and really work it because with mascara and the right technique it makes all the differance in the world no matter what kind of make up you do.
Exactly like Atrobro said. The only time liner on the waterline would make your eyes look smaller is if you're not using black/dark shadows on the top. She used the black liner as a way to correspond with the drama going on at the top and elongate/drag out the shape of the eye. Job well done! She looks amazing!!
MORE of THIS! This is the best way to show the transformational power of makeup- by taking an average face and turning it into a stunner just by the artful application of cosmetics! This is the best way to learn "tricks" of makeup to enhance plain faces. To be honest I have seen enough of you and Sam as the models. You look gorgeous WITHOUT makeup, we need to learn how to use makeup to make average faces look gorgeous too! Surely you could find willing models. I love PIXIWOO!
Nic, I love that you've mainly used browns. Most people are too slap happy with the black and use dark black right across the eye lid making the eyes look smaller. I try to explain to my friends that this makes their eyes smaller but they still do it.
The black eyeliner on the waterline really brought out the color of her eyes! So unique and gorgeous! Beautiful face shape and bone structure and overall a really chic look (:
I love this, her skin looks absolutely flawless! My eyes are fairly round like nicky's so I'm always scared of filling the entire inner eye with eyeliner but it looks great! Defiantly going to try this!
I think this is one of the best videos I've seen on youtube. Your model/friend is naturally pretty with a very innocent appeal. Yet you were able to bring out her inner vixen (man that sounds lame, but it's true). Love it.
You just made her look like Christina Aguilera! Great job! You two sisters must be the best make up artist in the world. I enjoy your videoes every time. Love from Norway
Thank you so much this is so helpful! Generally, make up artists recommend to use light colors for small eyes which limits a lot the make up options, specially if someone with small eyes loves smokey look!!
My eyes are very similar to this model and so I found this vid VERY helpful! WOW! I loved the result even tho I dont end up looking like Julianne like the model does, I really love the way my eyes look! I dont know why, there is nothing more sexy than the look of lining the waterline. It just does something to the eyes and always looks better. I just wish it didnt smear but I just have to check more often! Nicki looks gorgeous!
I don't think people are understanding, the point is to make the eyes look wider not rounder. I can understand this because I have smaller/close set eyes and it really helps to elongate them. Also when you put dark shadow on the top and bottom it actually produces a widening effect.
I wear Nars Siberia, too. I purchased Illamasqua's Cream Pigment in Hollow after seing their recommendation on the Pixiwoo blog and have been loving it! The only contour I've found light enough for me and without an orange cast.
I loved this video, her coloring is so very close to mine. I hope you have her back again for more tutorials :) I did have one question though...I was curious as to why you chose to line the waterline instead of the lashline for small eyes? It looks lovely, but I would have thought the lashline would have been used to make her eyes appear larger. Thanks again!
I have the same facial structure too! I would love to see a tutorial. I avoid dark shadows on the lower last line and always use a bit of illuminating concealer in the sunken-in area, but I would love to see if there's other techniques to try!
She's a professional makeup artist, I'm sure she knows that black on the waterline closes the eye. This tutorial wasnt about making the eye look bigger though, it was about creating the smokey eye look on someone with small eyes.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE using that brush to apply everything from primers to foundation to blush. THANK YOU, Sam for creating it!
Thank you so much! Huge help for me! Beautiful job as well.
Thanks Taylor.x
The transformation for her eyes is incredible! love it!
You both always pick the most appropriate celebrity inspiration for your models. And I love that you have showed people that small eye can line the water line and get away with it. So many people say not too line small eyes with black, but I think it looked sultry and great on Nicki.

Gosh she looks absolutely stunning at the end! Glowing!
i have 200x smaller eyes than this person.
Loved this. Illamasqua skin base is the most beautiful foundation. Never ceases to amaze me what great coverage and finish it gives! xoxo
What if someone has a small eye, like Nicky here, and a small amount of lid space? What are some helpful tips that would help me apply eyeshadow to that type of lid?
This is one of the most amazing transformations! Great video - admire how quick you can work on clients..
I just don't agree with the eyeliner on the water line. I think it makes her eyes look smaller. Compare @ 7:18
Wow she looks absolutely stunning! The skill you guys hold just amazes me. You are true artists.
im i the only one that thinks she looks like penny from the big bang theory ????!!!???
probably
Wow what a difference! Gorgeous and she has such beautiful glowing skin
Here eyes look normal sized to me.
What I loved about this look is the lips without gloss. They looked so natural! It's not always necessary to put on gloss. I think her eye makeup is gorgeous and the overall transformation is quite lovely!
You did a great job..just alil surprised you used black eyeliner and then called this video for small eyes..she does look great tho
Another fabulous tutorial. Thank you! Love this look. I've had MAC tan pigment in my color collection for ages & have never been too sure how to use it. This is perfect.
Never EVER put makeup under the eye if you have small eyes
Yeah it looks really weird.
Such a transformation WOW WOW WOW......she's got absolutely stunning eyes when you've made them up! Beautiful work.
She looks a bit like Ellie Goulding
I Love the before and After photos! The Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation has such wonderful coverage! I'm going to try this one for sure! Thanks Nic!
I say she looks like Kaley/ Penny Big Bang Theory
Stop lying to people
@@aikaterineillt9876 Who and/ or what are you talking about?
Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for using models with different eye and face shapes it really helps.
big downvote ! You miss pixiwoo made her eyes look smaller. Me as a small-eyed person did not like the ending result.
She did! I really noticed after you said that.
Her eyes def looked bigger and more pronounced at the end. Your "small eyes" are hindering your eyesight.
+Linda Suarez you are the hater everyone talk about. YOU make the nternet a shit place, by attacking on people.
I didn't attack you...calm down lol
The shape of the eyeliner and shadow made her eyes look longer, and thus, bigger. Maybe not really open, but that's not what this tutorial was for.
She is absolutely gorgeous, with and without makeup! good job nic!
she is so cute ,but why is she sad ?
Probably because she is basically being insulted every-time the makeup artist mentions her small eyes ..and her tan
you don't know how long i've been looking for a smokey eye tutorial for small eyes! thank you so much!
So beautiful. I loved the choral-pink cream eyeshadow with mulch. Cannot wait to try. Have to get a pot of that color...
I think your best videos are the ones where you guys do work on other people. Sooo interesting and it shows your versatility. Very nice work!
The foundation looks so healthy and glowing on Nicki's skin!
You guys are magicians, alchemists of the make-up world. Love it!
Nic, I have been watching you and Sam for a few years now and I am always in awe of your talent. I don't know why, maybe it's me seeing things differently, but in this video it really sunk in how masterful you are. You are amazing with color matching and gradients. A really lovely look. Thank you.
Wow, what a difference!!! Gorgeous! That foundation is amazing!
Yeah we are trying to get it better each video. xx
Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love a soft smokey/bedroom eye.
I enjoy sooo much when you do make-up on there people, it is so interesting how you apply different techniques in different types of eyes and face shapes, and so on. I just love it!
Thank you :D
WOAH. she looked AMAZING at the end...like a real model. omfg. shes stunning.
Amazing! Although I love watching u and Sam, it's been a pleasure to watch u two apply makeup on models recently. I've learned a lot, and it's nice to see how u ladies work! Thanks xox
The transformation here was very impressive. And lining her lips did indeed make them look fuller!
it is AMAZING how perfect her skin looks!
Love the look, it's really beautiful! a work of art! :) I have small eyes, and I've noticed if I use black eyeliner with matte colors on the lid, it makes my eyes much smaller, but if I use colors that have reflexion or a metallic shine, it instantly opens them up much more. Wow, Nicki is really pretty! I love watching you makeup others, Nic, the way you approach them is so delicate! Hope you are feeling well!
The black eyeliner on the waterline really brought out the color of her eyes! So unique and gorgeous! Beautiful face shape and bone structure and overall a really chic look (:
Absolutely amazing. What a wonderful makeup artist you are! Congratulations!
She is very beautiful and the makeup looked amazing. Well done as usual Nic
omg i just love what a difference make up can do!
very interesting tutorial, the small eye and making it elongated! simply amazing nic!
Excellent work. Its like an artist working on a canvas. Thats what your approach feels like.

The finished look came out so beautiful! :) Just gorgeous!
What an amazing transformation! Good work, and your friend is gorgeous!
Looks amazing! You completely changed her eye shape with makeup!!!
Amazeballs!! She looked simply stunning!
maybe a bit of an odd thing to say but my favourite thing about this look is the eyebrows. Amazing, they look so nice
I love this, her skin looks absolutely flawless! My eyes are fairly round like nicky's so I'm always scared of filling the entire inner eye with eyeliner but it looks great! Defiantly going to try this!
OMG!!! that foundation looks AMAZING on her!!!!!!!!!

I just love the videos where you do other peoples makeup the most
Wow, what a transformation! You're very talented Nic!
I think this is one of the best videos I've seen on youtube. Your model/friend is naturally pretty with a very innocent appeal. Yet you were able to bring out her inner vixen (man that sounds lame, but it's true). Love it.
Wow!!!! What a transformation!!!! Great job!!!!

Looks fab, great colour choices for her skin colouring
What an amazing transformation and difference. You wouldn't think she was the same person.
Thank you so much this is so helpful! Generally, make up artists recommend to use light colors for small eyes which limits a lot the make up options, specially if someone with small eyes loves smokey look!!
Nic, you nailed it! I had to do a double take when I looked the thumbnail for this vid because Nicki looks so much like Julianne.
This is what i love about the art of makeup. you can realy transform into a whole other person. What an amazing look! l
The makeup is stunning! She looks beautiful!
What a transformation, thanks for posting the list of products too!!
You look like an artist :) The way you hold your hands and apply the makeup is so chic! Like a painter :D
Wow... i love how you did the smokey part on the top lids.
Her eyes look so much bigger afterwards, even with a smokey eye! Amazing work as usual, Nic :)
I loved this!! I just put it into my favourites. Good job nic!!xxx
The before and after is amazing!! Pretty girl!
I don't think people are understanding, the point is to make the eyes look wider not rounder. I can understand this because I have smaller/close set eyes and it really helps to elongate them. Also when you put dark shadow on the top and bottom it actually produces a widening effect.
Wow the power of makeup she look really pretty
great, what a transformation, her skin looks amazing too!
Wow... That made such a huge difference! She looked pretty before, but that makeup suited her so well!! x
Thank you for doing a tutorial on a blonde (especially for knowing what to use on blonde / fair eyebrows!). She looked stunning! xx
Best smokey eye tutorial I've seen xx
I wear Nars Siberia, too. I purchased Illamasqua's Cream Pigment in Hollow after seing their recommendation on the Pixiwoo blog and have been loving it! The only contour I've found light enough for me and without an orange cast.
That's gorgeous! Nic, would you please show us how you put your hair up? Thank you! x
This is perfect! She has just my eyes! Loooove it!
she really is beautiful and this is a beautiful makeup! love it!
LOVE when you work with a model. Please do more!
I loved this video, her coloring is so very close to mine. I hope you have her back again for more tutorials :) I did have one question though...I was curious as to why you chose to line the waterline instead of the lashline for small eyes? I'm sorry but don't listen to these people I love your videos your information is fantastic please don't make them any shorter I appreciate it xxx
