1. Thank you for having a video about hooded eyes worth a model who had hooded eyes. Not having them, clients look at me like "how would you know", it's nice to have a knowledgeable video to reference 2. Thank you for complimenting your client, accenting her features. Rather than saying "you have a thinner bottom lip", you pointed out how her top lip was slightly bigger so you were cheating it out a smidge. 3. Thank you for listening to your client, and making her feel confident to ask questions. I've seen people treat their clients or friends like idiots for not knowing things we know through our education.
Stacha, thank you for being the model in this video. There are many tutorials on youtube concerning makeup for hooded eyes, but the artists rarely have a model who actually has hooded eyes to demonstrate on. It's so brave to appear in a video without makeup. But this look is wonderful for you and you look gorgeous.
Hi Lisa! I just wanted to thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I am a studio stylist for the ck One Color line and had a woman with hooded eyes approach me and tell me that, due to her difficult eye shape, she had not worn any makeup for over 30 years. I remembered this tutorial and put my best skills to work to mimic the look, and when I revealed the finished look to her she started to cry, telling me she hadn't seen herself look so beautiful for such a long time. Just wanted you to know how your videos have touched the lives of many women out there. You are truly an inspiration and such a beautiful person, inside and out. Best, -Andy
To have your make-up done by Lisa Eldridge must be such a wonderful experience! Not only will you look amazing afterwards, but she also always points out those speacial naturally beautiful features that she finds in each of her models and which they probably weren't even aware of before.
You gotta read the "About" section with Stacha's words in it. "What the media reflects as beauty and what actually is are two different things, very different, especially as what the media reflects is not actually real. It does not exist. That is what I hoped doing this video would convey. If you had met Kate Moss without her make up as I have more than on one occasion, you would see we are the same age. She is still beautiful, just different. Not unlike you. We all have great days and bad days with and without make up."
I loved the tutorial, the makeover was GREAT, but Stacha's own thoughts that were included were possibly the highlight. The world DOES look on the outside...all the more reason we must know and be confident in who we are individually. I'm happy to have found Lisa's site and this video in particular!
Great tutorial, and Stacha is beautiful- not only skin deep, but it's also reflected in her pleasant and gentle way of speaking and the beautiful words she'd written.
Wow she looks amazing! I immediately shared this with my mother; she is so self-conscious about her hooded eyes and overlapping front teeth. I am proud to show her a woman with her dilemma being used as a model and looking amazing and confident! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH LISA!
I've watched this video quite a few times and I love this look. Majority of hooded eye videos involve using different colours and complicated shading and highlighting . This is as effective and easier ! Love it
"A photograph is often a cheap imitation of woman, it should never be the other way round. Did I cry, of course not, I am blessed with a strong understanding of my worth." nicely said Stacha!
This is one of my favourite tutorials from you. Stacha is beautiful without any makeup but you brought out her lovely features even more. Her eyes and cheekbones are to die for!
You are the only makeup artist that has a light hand, which is how I do my makeup. The worst is the tutorial that teaches to lather on the foundation and concealer, especially. Beautiful!
Personally I am quite attracted to people with natural genetic hooded eyes. I don't have them myself but I just find there is something really intriguing about them. We should embrace variety more and not try to make ourselves look like a certain type because it gets boring. I know changing yourself up a bit can be fun and by all means have a go but I think too many today are becoming more and more obsessed with looking a certain way.
I know this is an older video but I would just like to thank you Lisa and your model Stasha. She was already beautiful before the makeup was applied but she looked even more amazing afterwards. Like another subscriber before me has wrote, she looks as though she is about to go to a night out at the Oscars. I can just see her now in a flowing satin black gown with her gorgeous makeup. I also have hooded eyes and I've struggled with them for years that like just Stasha said I avoid eyeshadows altogether too. I will be trying this technique next time I wear makeup though. I'm so excited to see the end results. Thank you again, from Sarah. This is my husband Ian's account. ☺
Beautiful woman and a fantastic job! I loved reading her comments in the description. It really reads of a well rounded and wise and overall secure person. I will be referring back to this tutorial over and over for your great tips. Kudos Lisa and a Big Thank You to Stacha for your willingness to do this.
I swear this is the ONLY video on TH-cam that uses a model with actual hooded eyes. Thank you so much, Lisa. Stacha, I love your look. The makeup looks fabulous. And your comments in the description are amazing.
OMG, what amazing results! I'm 62 years young and I too have hooded eyes that have gotten progressively more hooded the last 5 years and I seldom wear any eye makeup anymore because it seems to emphasize the problem. I see now that I don't have to avoid eye makeup anymore but just apply it differently. Thank you so much for such a great informative video!
I really admire your ability to catch the beauty of people using such easy tricks and the tiniest amount of makeup. It makes your looks look natural and pretty and everyone can do it. Thank you!
It always amazes me how you transform people without changing their essence. All your models still look like themselves. And you have such a kind air about you. There is no arrogance in the way you treat people - you never seem belittling. I admire you for your talent and your personality. It is a joy to watch you at work.
Stacha, thank you for sitting as a model for this tutorial, and thank you for your words in the "about" section. I think I may just print them out so that I can draw strength from them on the days when I am feeling down. Thank you, thank you, thank you. xoxo
please bring her again! Honestly, its easier to understand a look when the person who the make up is being put on to, is as curious about it as we are. That way, when she asks questions they would be exactly what we ask ourselves thousands of times when putting on make up ourselves at home. Hence, a more informative video! None the less all your videos are my favorites. Please never stop them!! xx
Stacha, I think you look lovely before and also after. thanks for sharing your thoughts ( in the about section) I think I'll keep those words in mind, especially on those days where I kinda just feel ugly and a little bit too imperfect.
Wow! She gets an A+ on how to explain what she's doing for the viewers and the model. Such a lovely tone to her voice and personality, and such a sweet model! Loved it! Adding to favorites!
Wow, amazing! I never knew I could do such amazing smoky makeup with my hooded eyes, I'm definitely going to try this out! Gorgeous model, she rocks the look!
I love how you don't just 'do it' for her. How you guide both her AND your viewers to help them bridge the fears they might have of going a bit 'too much'. Thank you both for a beautiful tutorial!
She has such wonderfully unique features. Great teacher and great student. And rarely does this happen, but I think this makeup made her look younger. Another fantastic job, Lisa!
I love the fact that you achieved such a sophisticated look using basically just one wash of colour, rather than laying down three or four colours that have to be artistically blended. This is really simple and could be done very quickly every morning - perfect for busy working women!
Bravo, not only are you very skilled at what you do, you are noticeably and unfortunately for here days, so very gentle and polite to the one on whom you are working. And for that I will try your products!
I so appreciate all of your tutorials Lisa! You are absolutely brilliant and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to learn from you. Thank you for doing all that you do! xoxo Christine
Stacha looks beautiful and her eyes are noticeably larger. Many gurus tell you techniques to do hooded eyes but they are not able to follow through with their techniques. You are the only one who is able to demonstrate it perfectly. I also love how you see the best in people thus making them feel good about themselves
Cried when reading what Stacha wrote...so gentle yet so much strength in it. I hope every woman can understand what you said and believe that the real beauty is in our heart.
Amazing tip and technique. She looks 10 years younger and her eyes look gorgeous. She bears strong resemblance to that actress Gene or Jeanne Triplehorn.
I have deep-set eyes but I used a few techniques from this and my eyes are popping! It means so much to me how you look at the diversity of beauty instead of always going about how to "avoid this" or "conceal it this way." It's a breath of fresh air and a bolster to my self-esteem! :)
Thank you so much for this! I have such strange eyes (they are large, round, kind of hooded, and the shape of my orbital makes winged liner impossible), so it's great to see so many tips I can actually use! I just love the excited/amazed look on her face around the 2:30 mark as you point out the definition it's already given her!
The only difference between our eyes is size... mine are small... but also partially hooded, rounded and I also can't do winged liner. I have to go full Winehouse in order to get the smallest flick to show! Thank Dawkins that I'm not alone! There's only one technique I haven't tried for winged liner, and that's a video for hooded eyes and winged liner by Sharon Farrell here on youtube. I'll try and report back to you!
You are so talented. You can make any woman, of any ethnicity, nationality, age, and face shape, look fantastic. You're truly a testament of a talented artist.
what I love the most about Lisa is althought she is such a famous makeup celebrity makeup artist she isn't at all cocky and never forgets us everyday girls and our struggles with beauty. thank you
Stacha is such a lovely woman and I love the thoughts she wrote for us ! And I also love this makeup, I have same eye shape. This is life changing, Thank you Lisa !
I'm one of the viewers who has been waiting for you to do a smokey look for hooded eyes - I'm always stuck in "just eyeliner" land because eyeshadow just seems to get lost as soon as I open my eyes, as your beautiful model said. This technique is really so simple and makes so much sense - I can't wait to try it. Thank you, Lisa. As always, you make me feel more beautiful just by watching.
Absolutely stunning model, before and after. You've brought out the best in her, as you always do. So lovely. I know she must love the look. And it's not just her eyes, it's her entire face. Perfect look.
I love that your model is a beautiful, but real person. It sure is a joy to watch someone who looks more like myself and less like a model with a ton of training.
Amazing! I second what I've seen so many other people say already: you choose great models, you give practical useful advice, and you reflect that advice in the look you do and in the model you choose so we can actually SEE the results of your advice. It is so great to watch you work.
Lisa, you are very talented. It's so nice that you don't just do the makeup on your model, but you explain and show her how to do it herself. Stunning results, yet again ! 👩🏼
super cool tutorial! The model looks really amazing and cute like that! I really envy her! ^^ I'm afraid to really put make up on because i know nothing about it and it seems like such a far away world for me. so many products and colours! I don't know where to start! I don't even know what would suit me and I'm afraid to look like a ridiculous clown! :D I would love to have a really good pro like Lisa put some on me once, so I know what it would look like. It really is a beautiful art! thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you thank you thank you for this amazing tutorial. One thing I really love about your videos is that you allow the models to be themselves and interact with you, asking questions, rather than staying silent like a mannequin. Sometimes they ask things I'm already wondering about and most of all, it shows how much you enjoy helping as much as you love being an artist.
luckilly my eyes are not as hooded as this beautiful girl but they are hooded and it has damaged my dreams of being a make up artist, my thoughts where "if i cant do it to myself whats the point of doing it to others" Im now in level 2 of my Media make up course and this video has gained me a lot more confedence :) Thank you Lisa
You have just helped me with this comment. I've been despairing of late, believing I'm just talentless and I just can't do my own makeup, let alone anyone else's... same sentiment as you... I still can't wing my eyeliner and I'm beginning to think my eyes are just built so abnormally that it's never going to work... to get a noticeable flick, I basically have to go Amy Winehouse on my lids. The only thing I haven't tried is the tutorial for winged liner on hooded eyes Sharon Farrell posted. It's videos like this one and Sharon's that help bolster my confidence back up. I remember that I can work on others bc I've created some beautiful looks on friends with normal eyes. Thanks for reminding me that just bc you may struggle with your own makeup, it doesn't mean you can't do it full stop. Maybe one day I will make it to makeup school like you and perhaps get somewhere in the vicinity of Lisa's talent (never gonna happen but I can dream!)
I have hooded eyes and a low brow bone which makes it even harder to apply eye shadow. I can't make a crease because it looks weird with low brow bones.
i have hooded asian eyes and this tutorial is exactly what i'm looking for!! i am completely blown away with how she looks 10 years younger, her eyes doubled in size and her mouth is so much more balanced with just that little bit of lip liner to make the bottom lip more full. excellent tutorial!!!
Hi Lisa! I also have hooded eyes, it has been a problem till now ;) I am looking forward to try this look on me. But also I wanted to ask you something, PLEEEEASE PLEEEEEASEEEE, can you make a tutorial about apply liquid eye deliner on hooded eyes, I just love how it looks but I'm just fighting too much to learn how to make it propperly. Hugs from Peru. xx
What a surprise watching Captain Phillips at the cinema and recognising Stacha like in a millisecond after she appeared on screen. :) And of course when back from the movie I ran straight to my computer to check this video if others had already commented the same thing. :P
Thank you for having a practical range of models with unique features, Lisa!! Your channel is more than just a makeup tutorial one, it is a study on the variety of human beauty. "If everyone looked the same, we would get tired of looking at each other!"
I'm asian and was looking for eye makeup tutorials for hooded eyes and found this video SUPER DUPER HELPFUL so I had to subscribe! YOU ARE AN AMAZING ARTIST AND AN OUTSTANDING TEACHER AS WELL!!! THANK YOU for uploading this video! I LOVE your videos!
Thank you so much, it is SO hard to find makeup tutorials for hooded eyelids, because often the artists use a model that has a slightly hooded eyelid, but still have plenty of eyelid space left. This model actually has real, honest hooded eyelids. Thank you.
That is a stunning look for Stacia, she looks gorgeous! I am 52 years old with hooded eyes and I literally just found out a few days ago that hooded eyes was even a thing and that this thing that I just discovered is a problem. Good thing I didn't know that when I was a young girl, it may have caused me some confidence issues. I love makeup and eye makeup in particular and learned to apply it as a teenager. The one thing I have never been able to pull off is a winged eyeliner look. I just chalked it up to the shape of my eye and never gave it a second thought. People always tell me I have beautiful eyes and I am asked repeatedly, even now at 52 years of age, if I can show people how to do their makeup, even much younger women. To the young girls and mature ladies alike out there, do not let a hooded eye erode your confidence or stop you from using eye makeup. Your eyes are beautiful and you can wear eye makeup just as successfully and look just as beautiful as anyone else!!!
wow this is so simple but yet effective. love it! i'm a beautician and have lots of customers with hooded eyes that ask me for tips to make their eyes look bigger and less tired. will keep your tips in mind! thank you.
1. Thank you for having a video about hooded eyes worth a model who had hooded eyes. Not having them, clients look at me like "how would you know", it's nice to have a knowledgeable video to reference
Lovely...thank you for using a model who actually HAS hooded eyes.

keep practising! Eyes open, looking straight ahead... and blend! X
To have your make-up done by Lisa Eldridge must be such a wonderful experience! Not only will you look amazing afterwards, but she also always points out those speacial naturally beautiful features that she finds in each of her models and which they probably weren't even aware of before.
I LIKE HOW YOU MADE YOUR CLIENT PART OF THE PROCESS AND LET HER DO IT HERSELF , VERY IMPRESSED, TKS
There is something about the model's face that I just cannot stop looking at her, amazing!
You gotta read the "About" section with Stacha's words in it.

I love that Lisa made the model use the brush and blend a little. So cute.
A) as others have said, thanks for using a model who actually HAS hooded eyes, and B) you do the best blush on TH-cam.
True
Great tutorial, and Stacha is beautiful- not only skin deep, but it's also reflected in her pleasant and gentle way of speaking and the beautiful words she'd written.
Beautifully said. Mor.
i love how you helped her learn aswell as teach us too!
Wow she looks amazing! I immediately shared this with my mother; she is so self-conscious about her hooded eyes and overlapping front teeth. I am proud to show her a woman with her dilemma being used as a model and looking amazing and confident! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH LISA!

nicely said Stacha!
This is one of my favourite tutorials from you. Stacha is beautiful without any makeup but you brought out her lovely features even more. Her eyes and cheekbones are to die for!
Finally a hooded eye makeup tutorial with a model that actually has hooded eyes
You are the only makeup artist that has a light hand, which is how I do my makeup. The worst is the tutorial that teaches to lather on the foundation and concealer, especially. Beautiful!
As a hooded eye gal I must say I agree a primer is essential!
This is so cute! Her confidence grew bigger by the minute! You are a true artist.
Personally I am quite attracted to people with natural genetic hooded eyes. I don't have them myself but I just find there is something really intriguing about them. Stacha is lovely! I like how she interacts instead of just sitting.
Wow - wonderful result. You have brought so much light into the model's face.
WOW, made her eyes look so much bigger. Wonderful. I have hooded eyes too and its a challenge!
Beautiful woman and a fantastic job! I loved reading her comments in the description. It really reads of a well rounded and wise and overall secure person. I will be referring back to this tutorial over and over for your great tips. Kudos Lisa and a Big Thank You to Stacha for your willingness to do this.
You had me at " soon as she open her eyes she cant see anything of it" i surely can relate to it.
I swear this is the ONLY video on TH-cam that uses a model with actual hooded eyes. Thank you so much, Lisa. Stacha, I love your look. The makeup looks fabulous. And your comments in the description are amazing.
there are other ways but smokey was by far the most requested .... second only to a cat flicked liner for hooded eyes. I'll try to do that one soon x
Wow - you took her natural beauty and perfected it!
Lisa SURE knows what she is doing! The model looks AZMAZING! This video didn't disappoint.
Aw! I loved it when you asked her to open her eyes and see where the shaded definition was, and she broke out into such a lovely smile!
OMG, what amazing results! I'm 62 years young and I too have hooded eyes that have gotten progressively more hooded the last 5 years and I seldom wear any eye makeup anymore because it seems to emphasize the problem. I really admire your ability to catch the beauty of people using such easy tricks and the tiniest amount of makeup. It makes your looks look natural and pretty and everyone can do it. Thank you!
i was enamored w/ her from how she was in this video, and now reading her words in the video description i like her even more
I agree. You can tell by the way she's speaking that she's very sensitive and gentle. She's probably a good actress.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. xoxo
3:22 - "What you need is generosity" - you said it all, Lisa. I think that's what puts you way above any other makeup artist I've seen at work.
At last!! Makeup tutorials with models who look more like me :)
please bring her again!
Please never stop them!! xx

I love this lady s face shape.very unique
Stacha's thoughts in the description are so beautiful and touching. She is beautiful both inside and out.
I loved it when you passed the brush to Stacha to let her try out the technique!
She has such wonderfully unique features. Great teacher and great student. And rarely does this happen, but I think this makeup made her look younger. Another fantastic job, Lisa!
Read the about section for Stacha's beautiful sentiment from a beautiful woman. Thank you Stacha! XO and thank you Lisa for bringing it to us.
You can tell from this video that Lisa is not only the best at what she does, and incredibly professional, she’s also very genuine and kind.
It's transformative, and it's artistry and oh my god Lisa, you are amazing!
I love the fact that you achieved such a sophisticated look using basically just one wash of colour, rather than laying down three or four colours that have to be artistically blended. This is really simple and could be done very quickly every morning - perfect for busy working women!

she's beautiful but you enhanced that nicely,. love it
Cried when reading what Stacha wrote...so gentle yet so much strength in it. I hope every woman can understand what you said and believe that the real beauty is in our heart.

You are so talented. You can make any woman, of any ethnicity, nationality, age, and face shape, look fantastic. You're truly a testament of a talented artist.
At the end, I could not see the hoods at all - just beautiful eyes. Very subtle and flattering.
what I love the most about Lisa is althought she is such a famous makeup celebrity makeup artist she isn't at all cocky and never forgets us everyday girls and our struggles with beauty. thank you
She looks very elegant and graceful.
Lisa you are my favorite "makeup guru" on youtube. In addition of being extremely good with makeup, you seem so professional and so down to earth!
Stacha is such a lovely woman and I love the thoughts she wrote for us ! And I also love this makeup, I have same eye shape. This is life changing, Thank you Lisa !

Absolutely stunning model, before and after. You've brought out the best in her, as you always do. So lovely. I know she must love the look. And it's not just her eyes, it's her entire face. Perfect look.
I could listen to your accent all day long
I love that your model is a beautiful, but real person. It sure is a joy to watch someone who looks more like myself and less like a model with a ton of training.
She's got a beautiful smile
Amazing! I second what I've seen so many other people say already: you choose great models, you give practical useful advice, and you reflect that advice in the look you do and in the model you choose so we can actually SEE the results of your advice. It is so great to watch you work.

Maybe one day I will make it to makeup school like you and perhaps get somewhere in the vicinity of Lisa's talent (never gonna happen but I can dream!)
spanglelime
totally in the same boat with eyeliners. can't wing them nicely either.
I really love how you got Stacha to use your brush and figure out the movement/blending for herself!
I have hooded eyes and a low brow bone which makes it even harder to apply eye shadow. I can't make a crease because it looks weird with low brow bones.
Try to cover the entire lid/brow area up to the eyebrows then
i have hooded asian eyes and this tutorial is exactly what i'm looking for!! i am completely blown away with how she looks 10 years younger, her eyes doubled in size and her mouth is so much more balanced with just that little bit of lip liner to make the bottom lip more full. excellent tutorial!!!
Hugs from Peru. xx
Best hooded eye video that exists on the internet
just saw Stacha in Captain Phillips :) congrats!!!
Omg. You are ridiculously amazing at doing makeup. This woman looks like a celebrity now. Truly amazing!
I just saw Stacha in Captain Phillips and thought I recognized her from somewhere, then remembered this tutorial!
Thanks! Now I can help my mom ^°^
Thank you so much, it is SO hard to find makeup tutorials for hooded eyelids, because often the artists use a model that has a slightly hooded eyelid, but still have plenty of eyelid space left. This model actually has real, honest hooded eyelids.
Thank you.
I think she has a wide set eyes not really hooded.
Her eyes are wide set AND hooded. Hooded means you can't see the eye lid when your eyes are open because the skin folds over the eyelid.
They can be both wide set and hooded.
The model is so lovely, unique. Lisa's make up is great.
Your eyes are beautiful and you can wear eye makeup just as successfully and look just as beautiful as anyone else!!!
wow this is so simple but yet effective. love it! i'm a beautician and have lots of customers with hooded eyes that ask me for tips to make their eyes look bigger and less tired. will keep your tips in mind! thank you.
She looked beautiful. Easily 10 years younger. Lisa is just amazing and I'm so glad she's willing to share her knowledge. So generous.
She looked beautiful. What adorable features and a really endearing personality. No wonder she is an actress. She definitely has a special quality.
