- Hello everyone, this is one of the biggest personal projects i've created so far. I listened to this song and because i'm currently working on so many Rottmnt connected projects, i immediately had an idea. Why not use these two little idiots and make a cute little amv out of their first date. And before you guys can say anything, i know it's insane, this thing has almost 4000 frames and it took me a whole semester, but here we are. Hope you guys will enjoy the video as much as i enjoyed creating it! ^^
Also thank you to @arysketchess for helping me with spanish translations so Usagi can have a cute nickname on Leos phone. x3 And we cannot forget the mental support while each working on own personal projects late at night, the only time of the day that students can actually use for themselves. xd Good times.

AAA they’re so CUTEEEEEE!! here have some of my thoughts: i love the idea they’re pining for each other but leo’s afraid of being rejected/losing usagi as a friend (real) and usagi isn’t sure if leo feels the same (he does but he laughs it off-also relatable). and the BEANIE oh the beanie is such a cool concept i’ve seen stuff where usagi “ties” his ears back but i like the idea of him wearing beanies he probs would. this song and the vibes r immaculate ✨ thank you for a cool animatic!! i’m gonna watch it again :D

Favorite scene in this is the one in the training room because Usagi being a sore loser and knocking Leo off his sword is so funny and it's immediately followed up with him feeling like his love isn't requited and kicking training dummy ass over it like omg!
But the cutest moment for Usagi was when he was lying in the grass and his ears were flopped out while the butterfly flew overhead. So adorable! Seriously loved this! I think I've watched it like 5 times today alone.

This animation is actually so good?? Like, there's actual MOVEMENT and you can see story and dialogue and a dynamic conveyed in the character's movements and expressions, and the shots are actually connected!! It genuinely feels like something you can continue with lineart and color etc etc into a fully realized animation, great job dude!!

I thought about it many times already, but u r right, it would be a big project. Definitely gonna ask for help, because it would take a long long time to polish it alone. Would also be fun to work on it together (if people are interested). x3

Ah yes xd, i was a tmnt fan before rise already, bc the 2012 show was my childhood basically, when rise came out and i as a TMNT fan and also 2d animator watched it, was just overwhelmed by how good this series is, think it influenced my artstyle and animation style very much as well xd so good, currently rewatching it and man, such an epic show
@@MelAtonin80 and that’s what’s weird to me… for some reason, most of the ROTTMNT supporters were saying that the show was getting a lot of hate at first but based on what I’ve been seeing the show doesn’t seem bad AT ALL… I haven’t watched it yet myself but based on all the comics, animations, animatics, etc… I’m actually looking forward to watching it, especially since my hyper fixation has FINALLY slowed down 😂💀
Uhh yes pls do, the thing is, i do get why some people might be angry, i myself watched 2012 and it was cool (some pros and cons), rise had a different approach for the characters but i honestly love the dynamic between the brothers and their personalities, it's rly energetic and funny, can only recommend to watch it, especially as a 2d artist (don't forget the movie, the animation is just nom 🤌✨ series as well, the movie is just going crazy with the animation at some points xd), i don't rly get why some people love one series but hate the other, bc in each version it's fun to watch them fight and be a family, i personally think it was refreshing to see rise do it a bit differently (again some changes i like more or less, but in general also a rly great show)

I like how Usagi and Leo both dream of themselves in a more vulnerable state-- Usagi with his ears down and Leo without his mask-- and they both dream of the other rejecting them/blowing them off.

Edit 2: I'm totally writing a whole analysis on this for extra credit in my english class. I noticed how in Leo's dream, he's hesitant to reach out to Usagi, and Usagi disappears when he does. Meanwhile, in Usagi's dream, he tries to reach out to Leo only to be blown off. So Leo is nervous to try and tell Usagi his feelings out of fear of losing Usagi, and Usagi is trying to communicate his own feelings only to be met with a wall (I think). And they don't move past that until under the tree, where *Leo* is the one to tell Usagi his feelings, and Usagi reciprocates.
Ah no worries! Makes me happy when people are so invested in the story that they interpret scenes and look at details, it's fun to read! ^^
These two scenes especially, because there is a lot there that describes their feelings towards each other and how they feel about themselves. So feel free to interpret as much as you want ✨\( ^w^ )/✨
