I have a vague childhood memory of the "German" uboat actually surfacing for the surprise attack then diving before it surfaces again to be attacked but it doesn't appear to do that on any video I've seen.

i remember this as a kid watching it with my parents. Looking at it now it would be better if there was some dramatic music too

There used to be on the little island with the piano, but that guy retired or left a few years ago
