    Just go for it Rob. For me, all slot cars have potential and it’s our job as hobbyists to make them go as fast as we can.. Not withstanding damaging genuine rare cars. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Touch up the M1's wheels with fresh gold paint & new tyres to bring it back to new. Awesome looking Tyrell F1 car. Good competition for the Lotus. Better to loose the "originality" of the tyres, rather than the drivability of the car I think. Looking forward to seeing them race against one another. Snoopy will look good driving around Ricard Valley Raceway.

    Thanks Rob, entertaining and thought provoking as always. For me, the ‘value’ of a slot car comes down to how it makes *me* feel combined with what someone else will pay for it. If I’m not going to sell it, then the second bit becomes irrelevant. Tyres and braids are consumables on any unboxed car. Do you have any worries about replacing the original lubrication (or lack)? Thought not, and yet you’re affecting the ‘originality’ of the car. Like taking the fluff out of the motor, you’ve removed history, but how important to you or anyone else is that fluff? As for refreshing wheels, replacing mirrors, wings and cracked glass, it’s more likely to increase a car’s market appeal and make it easier to release its financial value than to harm some imaginary number that only one or two people with a fanatical desire for unworking originality would pay. Restomodding is a thing, both in 1:1 and slot cars. Just do something that has meaning for you and there’s likely to be others that appreciate it should you wish to sell later. And if they don’t, they’ll likely buy the car and change it in their own way. So where’s the originality gone at that point? Great stuff, keep it up please!

    I raced the BMW in a class last year and it kicked but! Looking forward to see how you fix the front end slop.

    Hi Rob, checking in here from New York, to let you know I absolutely love what you do. I consider you the Grand Master of the slot car word!! You have without any fuss unseated CleveTech from that top position (Still love you CleaveTech).. Anyway, what I wanted to ask you is this, are they commercial adapters that will allow those old big and small Johnson motors found in the Scalextric cars of the late 60’s and 70’s to be able to use the more modern motors that are in use today?

      "Unseated Cleve Tech" No way, that guy is a GOD !! But thank you for the vote of confidence 🥰
      As for being able to use modern motors in the older cars, I do not know if they are made but I'm sure they could be drawn up and 3D printed. If I had the car and motor in my hand, I am sure I could get a motor into that car. Maybe you could send one so I can do it for you and make a video of it 😉
      Thanks Man for the support :-D

      @@SwiftSlots I was thinking more generic. If you are looking at a the small can Johnson motors, the mount in the chassis is the same regardless of the car. So I am wondering what would be available as an adapter to allow you to use a more modern short can/long can/Flat-6/or a slim can… after all the space and mount points for the old Johnson small and large cans is pretty standard from car to car.

      @BajanBert 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SwiftSlots Also recognizing that the old Johnson small and large cans do have different mounts

      @@SwiftSlots Also dont get me wrong, Cleve Tech is a building and electronics God… but you can create a car from scratch out of a solid block of aluminum, and make it lighter than a plastic slot car 😊
