A very pertinent talk ...how, as Buddhists, to deal with the moral problem of violence in the world. Thank you again, Ajahn Brahmali, for elucidating the Dhamma in such a clear manner!

Thank you Ajahn and all those who made it possible. Pardon me, but the simile of the Saw was directed by the Buddha to the Bhikkhus which high standard of self sacrifice and of one's own, may not be applicable to laypersons. Perhaps the following Shaolin code may be more appropriate for laypersons - avoid rather than check, check rather than hurt, hurt rather than break, break rather than kill, leaving kill to the last and unavoidable. With metta.

Thank you Ajahn for the fantastic talk. Sadhu sadhu sadhu from Singapore
I think the Buddha gave king Ajatasattu the means to conquer the Vajjis more easily as he couldn't prevent him from going to war. So the next best thing would be to make it easier for him to win by subterfuge so that the overall amount of killing and suffering from a prolonged war could be avoided.

Too bad we can’t chat ☺️
There are mentions of the conflicts in Pali Suttras, not that impossible, but Buddhas view in the war is unique, as it’s up to individual realization what the person is doing in the war…

Sir, I believe you got the rohingya migration backwards. they originally used to live in burma but burmese military attacked them which is why they seeked refuge in bangladesh. now, in bangladesh they are also finding it difficult to adjust.

Another meaning for 'killing' is not teaching the dhamma to arrogant people according to the Buddha.
