Tough to see Thanh Le lose as he's a highly skilled fighter as well as a very likable person. He could have benefited from throwing more setup shots (jabs) and straight shots. Felt like everything he threw was a lunging/jumping looping power shot. A stiff jab will break a fighter down/discourage kicks, and a crisp cross will get there faster than a lunging hook.

Thanh Le is used old tactic to take down his competitor and Tang Kai has well prepared to counterattack Thanh Le 's attacks with kicks on both leg of Thanh Le. Tang Kai also has various blows counterattack to Thanh Le and Thanh Le felt down during the rounds of the competition Tang Kai blocked Thanh Le's leg attacks, etc. Tang Kai is a good fighter and Tang Kai is obtained the champion fighter. That is simple.
I think they are the best fighters out there. The decision was correct even though I am a Le fan. Tang fought brilliantly.
I'm Vietnamese... But objectively, the Chinese fighter fought with a cool head... Discipline and certainty... He clearly understood the philosophy of "know your opponent Know yourself, a hundred battles without defeat"... Thanh Le well done. But his speed can't keep up with his opponent

Tang stayed calm and was able to implement his gameplan better over the course of this fight all while using his youth and quickness over his older opponent to his advantage . He had a smart plan of weakening Thanh Le's legs to take away his movement and agility. But at the end, Thanh Le adjusted his feints and forward movement, started catching/punishing Tang's calf kicks and outboxed Tang in the fifth round. He had Tang off balance a number of times at the end. It was however, too little, too late. I would like to see how Thanh takes this information, builds off of that solid fifth round and adapts for the rematch.

Le was too focused on head hunting and ignoring on countering the kicks. After first round Le should have had a game plan on countering with take down and punches when Tai attempted the leg kicks.

Man some people may complain cuz there wasn't a crazy wild finish, but watching this live the TENSION was insane. Tang Kai was so calculated and careful trying to give as much damage w/o giving Thanh Le any openings whatsoever to capitalize. The cat and mouse game here was really something

Fighting smart ---> Dodges, blocks and chopping down opponent's leg till opponents gets a knocked down or tires out. Very high accuracy, meaningful hits.
Not fighting smart ---> lots of fancy moves/kicks but none hit or have any impact because it was blocked or dodged. Rushes in to hit despite expending so much energy for these fancy moves. Zero defense against low kicks. Low accuracy
End result? ---> Lose. People still thinking that the vet guy won. Watch the entire video and count how many times he was knocked down. 🤣😂

Great fight. Hard to make assumptions on comparative skills because Tahn Lee seems ill prepared. It would be proper to see how he adjust in a rematch and how Tang Kai would improve to such adjustments. I feel like I'm watching the rubber match of Joshua Pacio and Yosuke Saruta. Great match ups.

@@RickChavo fact... the leg kicks landed way more on Thanh then the other way around, even in round 1. A hit is a hit and also each one is a score of points. Therefore round 1 went to Tang Kai.
What round was the knockdown?
That was barely a competition. Le was on the back foot the whole match. A very well deserved win from Tang. What an epic battle that went for 25 minutes though. Legends
Tang Kai danced around like Mohammed Ali did, very elusive like a butterfly as Ali said he was. The kicks to the legs looked quite damaging. Quite a fight to remember!

Thanh, when he kicks you should lift that leg up higher than where the his leg is and then kick straight out from there. That is how Kong Fu taught us to avoid being hit in the leg or calf.

Both are methological. Thanh has heavier hand but Tang neutralized that with high mobility. Both have amazing speed and power but Thanh definitely was slower after taking those leg kicks. Tang seems to be prepared studying Thanh's fight. This fight is dynamite, hope there's a T n T 2 match up soon! Thanh does learn from his previous fights and work on improvement. It will be exciting.

Tang Kai is a true champ! He broke Thanh Le's leg in round 1. Forcing him to switch stance and just chase.
Thanh Le doesn't know how to cut off the ring isntead of chasing? Thanh tried to be a bully but got outclassed by Kai.
These announcers didn't give tang enough credit until the end. He outclassed le since round one with basic fighting mechanics. The odd of throwing a knock out are pretty slim when ur barley moving since round 2. Not gonna lie le has power but it greatly decreases when your leg are barley holding up. They kept saying for 31 minutes only takes one lol but tang took a few shots so obviously it doesn't only take one.
I was thinking the same, everything they said was about Le, pretty bias till the end.

Kai has to prove himself against the champion the current champ should always get the most shine by default dont try to see too much in it.
Well, the announcers were just being honest in their analysis. They both fought with two very different game plans. Tang threw his best shot at Thanh and Tang went flying in the opposite direction. I don't think Tang will be able to knock out Thanh judging from that. Tang's entire game plan afterwards was to score more points than Thanh, not even getting a finish. He executed the plan well and fully utilized his youth/quickness advantage here to oupoint Thanh Le. Thanh was treating it like a fight to the finish which he had the power to do, rocking Tang a couple of times at the end after he started catching Tang's leg kicks. I'm not sure the results would have turned out the same if there was one more round. This is what makes the rematch so interesting. Tang was the deserved winner on the scorecards but he experienced a little trouble in the boxing at the end. The announcers were proven correct.

After witnessing the altercation, Tang's evasive maneuvers seem perfectly reasonable to me. I mean who te hell wants to get hit from thanh le? You would have to be cra-zyy. He's clearly attempting to evade Thanh's formidable attacks, which could easily leave him dazed and seeing stars upon impact. Tang's decision to keep moving and avoid confrontation strikes me as a smart move.
