In a big band orchestration like the one presented here, the originally beautfiul piece loses much of its intimacy and mysterious undertones. It is sparkling now with artistry, shiny and talently polished, flaring out, but at the expense of emotional depth.
You could be right, the solos are more artistery than emotion except for Paquito. Tine Helset plays a fine version. It has to be the one with the small band - guitar, bas, drums... Far the best.

In contrast to the accordion, the case of the bandoneon usually has a square cross-section and does not have mechanically preset chords like the accordion , but only single notes, like the piano. @Jacob: Marcelo Nisinman is a real magician on the bandoneon!
They are skilled, no doubt about it, however there's a lack of soul in this. PS: Drummer's solo is way improvable. Listen to afro cuban jazz big bands man, you'll understand what i'm talking about.

it's not about the amount a solo can be "improvable", it's about feeling the music and sharing it with the world.

The drummer is btw dutch, the guitarist japanese and the bass is american. not really german
Germans can do a great composition. Latin included. No use to criticize them. Great performance.
