Regarding the APT, without seeing it happening or where, I would suggest a)making sure that all the bogies are freewheeling and that none are acting like the brakes are on. Also b)make sure that the train isn't rubbing against anything causing friction (like the tunnel portal for example) It was running pefectly on Jasons layout as you know so it does point towards the layout, whether its the gradient, corners or both or c)remember to clean up all the baby oil and lube if you get passionate in the shed! 😂😂😂😂
yeah it’s my layout that’s the issue i think, not worrying too much for now, would like her running at some point tho buddy

Hi GnR, I was thinking about your APT issue while watching this video. Depending upon which set you have, the recent Hornby 5 or 7 Car sets, or the older generation of the APT. If you only have the one NDM, a dummy unit that will not travel up your gradients. Do what I did and purchase the motorised second NDM from Hornby or other outlets. It does give the APT sets a better ratio of power and grip. If you wish to try before you buy, I can lend you my second NDM or if you know someone close to you with a unit to borrow. You can then try and run it with your set on D-Jtn to see if it makes a difference. My 7-Car set was wheel slipping to get up my clubs branch line gradients. But with the second NDM (which has the same coach number as the dummy in the sets), it made a big difference running on the club layout. So much so that I was able to add the extra coach packs, one at a time, up to the full-length APT. Later, I was able to buy the APT-U coach, which also came separately. It ran like a dream in both directions of the layout up and down the inclines.

@RGJTrains - Obviously Guys... 😅🤣😂 it wasn't hard to miss the tunnel issue, and as where Grace's Mountains. Which are sadly missed by us all, 😅😂🤣.

Hopefully you do not have any derailment issues with the S CURVE at the turnout.
nothing so far and it’s a far gentler curve than the original there, which was causing issues with the APT
