  • Alan returns to run trains on his loft model railway. Buckland Junction has a running session for the first time in over six weeks. Alan has missed his railway layout. Now back he intends to to some more landscaping, first he designs the view by sketching it on paper to get a feel for the final outcome. Tomorrow he will start the construction of the under supports in wood and cardboard then moving on to his (PVA-Jaycloth Alan technique) followed by scenery, but will be weeks later.

Bonjour dear friend, Nice to see trains running again on 'Buckland Junction'. Vera loves your red rescue Jinty. Your design to have a little abandoned junction looks excellent. You could just suggest it without putting a point in. A piece of rusted overgrown rail joining up to the mainline - just a idea... Be careful with the 'level app' it just measures a spot. Great to follow along again. I've been working on 'The AnneliesVille RR' too. I'll send some pics on your email. All the best et bon courage my friend. Cheers, Vera & Filip

Good to see you back safe and sound. Looks like the Hymek train had a bit of a protest for being left for so long😉. The new plan looks interesting, it'll be nice to see it develop.

Hi Alan - I truly love those distant shots of your layout, I get more of an idea how it operates. But to be honest its how you would view it if you climbed up there. keep em coming mate.
Oh my goodness, its just like watching the news regarding your train crash. Bet you clear it up a lot quicker though.
To be honest you dont seem to have much problems if any.
Be very careful of the app on your mobile Alan. I trusted the one on mine called Laser level, but I could not work out why I was having problems with my incline so I purchased a digital spirit level advertised by Charlie Bishop. Oh my goodness all my levels were way out mate. Had to rebuild it all which is what I am doing at the moment.
Sketch plan looks good, now build it LOL
    Regards Chris

Hi Chris. My track has lots of issues. I laid it in a bit of a hurry just to get it up and running. I shall send out the permanent way team to sort it out, with some cant on the corners too. Masses to do this winter. Regards Alan :o)

I wish mine would run like that after 7 weeks of nothing happening! As regards camber (incline of track side to side) I added some 2mm rubber strip to the outside edge of some of my tighter curves, under the sleepers, which seems to help discourage faster traffic from throwing itself off if I get the speed wrong. probably not what caused your Royal Mail to derail though as it had fallen inwards. Just a thought - have you got a corner of the back scene which would take a sunset? Maybe you could get a still from one of the ones you filmed printed off and it would be a reminder of your tour?
