I had a die cast model of the Australian Lancaster but my nephew has it now. I also have Australian badges, coins and a ANZAC biscuit box. They come out every ANZAC day . And two Gallipoli books
Cheers Andrew, good stuff m8....I don't have much...I suppose its because I'm more interested in the European theatre of ww2 and beyond. The book shops in oz are nearly all just about Australia in ww2.....understandable I reckon but frustrating for a collector. I used to go to the biannual book sale at the local race course and as there wasn't the appetite for ww2 books about Germany v Russia, I got some bargains.....I wouldn't mind a slouch hat....but getting one in my size....probably ain't going to happen 🤣🤣🤣
My Grandfather fought at Gallipoli.. 155th (South Scottish) Brigade. 1/4th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. There were obviously many ANZACs there. My Grandad never spoke of the events he saw there. He once told my Dad that 'The Turks poisoned the wells' ..but that was all he got out of him. He later fought in The Battle of the Somme. Some lovely items there Stan mate ! ..the cigarette case is a classic ! A treasure to have the War Memorial brochure !!
Thanks for sharing Stan. nice collection of items 😊
Thanks Chris m8🙂🙂
