Did you also hear about Petsmart throwing away all of their small animal cages/accessories because they rebranded? This happened like 2 months ago! I work for a rescue and thankfully a worker contacted us to donate but it was everywhere. They could get fired if corporate found out they donated them 😩
yet my stores still treat their animals like shit.

I wouldn’t like use them for 2 but there great for rescues for one or used by a travelling cage.
... I haven't seen any changes in Minnesota at Petsmart, it's 2024 now. They have all the same started kits so idk man
I looked this up and I'm mortified. They were denying veterinary care to an extreme extent letting hamsters eat their babies and were given zero generators for if power blew out, which is some store it did, workers had to take how lizards to keep them alive and most died along with all the fish, they took dead fish out of tanks every single day, probably still do. They made no changes to requiring better vet care, only that a worker needs to dispose of bodies once a week now. I found an article as I was reading that know from 22' about how 47 dogs have died, during, immediately after, or the same day as going to petsmart for either a nail-trim or grooming. So far only 2 people have actually had charges and also been convicted. This was after a manager flew in to let a woman who's 12 year old poodle.. (very happy, energetic, spunky, Not sick dog) ended up dying on the table in under a 10 minute appointment. She left her dog for a nail-trim and shopped a bit, came back less than 10 minutes later, 10 minutes, and he was already limp and lifeless on the metal table. They were not empathetic or have a reason and of course told her to go to a petsmart owned vet that tried to revive him and couldn't. After this manger showed her the footage it showed the 2 workers, one just an apprentice who'd been just a bather for 9 months was new to this. They put her dog in a double teathered harness (it lifted his head/neck & his body all at once fully off the table... This should only be used for complicated, anxious dogs, and never fully unable to touch a flat surface) they didn't care he was quite literally thrashing around violently trying to escape and was whiping his head up and down, the workers simply said he would calm down and passed out at the time of the incident, no harness mentioned. The video footage clearly showed what really happened, he was having signs of critical stress, why, not because this had never happened to him before but because of the way it was built to hold up his neck and how they held his head and just continued to do the trimming and the fact that he had no footing underneath him it caused him to literally suffocate, the harness and his body position crushed his windpipe. These workers released and removed the harned and legit Shook his muzzle violently to try to wake him up then shoved his body and then the owner walked back there and took her dog outside and collapsed crying. That's when they told her "go to a vet"
I still can't get over the guinea pigs killing each other and dying of disease just to be frozen. But this, wtf is this

Watching him mix his pellets, I do the same exact thing with both Oxbow pellets. I also take an extra step and use a colander to sift out all the dust. I would like to think my piggies appreciate all the things I do for them.

I use “Seal-Once Nano+Poly” as a pet-safe moisture protector. It’s on our piggies' outdoor playpen. The label says it’s water-based, non-toxic, and safe around pets & children. That might be good for sealing the wood against pee.

HEY! As a Guinea pig owner I usually tend to do research on a lot of toys and I just wanted to let you know that the cupcakes contain non-toxic white glue which is safe for Guinea pigs but might not be safe for their digestion I’m only saying this as someone who has looked into it I’m not trying to give you advice I’m just trying to encourage you to do your own research on a lot of the toys in this video since I saw some other iffy ones other then that much love and i can’t wait to see more hauls in the future!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love using organizers from the dollar store for hay, the long rectangle ones fit hay perfect, are easy to clean, and are short for the little potatoes

I love Chewy because they always send the crinkly paper with the package and also a lot of times i get cardboard sheets. My cats love both of them and I always give them the packaging to play with! I also make houses with the boxes themselves

For the new wooden houses you can use oliveoil or any other oil you can eat to impregnate the houses a little.
And washing is always possible even with the vinegar-spray bottle of yours and rinse with water after a while

My piggies love those celebrations cupcakes too, even though they're such picky piggies, the only chew toys they like are willow, that's it. They seem to love those cupcakes, they also eat almost the entire thing, I was shocked!
For my heard of 23 piggies, I use the 50 pound bag of Mazuri Guinea pig feed. It’s great!

I use that big bag of oxbow pellets. We have 4 pigs so it lasts forever. They all seem to like them.
Thank you so much for mentioning the soy problem for some guinea pigs!! One of our sweet piggies had bladder sludge and finding information to help him has been near impossible. We switched all our pigs to Garden Select a few months ago now. Took him to the vet yesterday and they didn't visibly see any sludge or stones. Thank you, Thank you!

I'm glad you agree with no hay racks and briefly mention the possibility of injuries with some of them. It's up to us as pet owners to decide if some thing is appropriate for our little munchkins. I rescued a sow and boar Abyssinian from a family on CL. Of course the mama was prego, but despite her wide pear shape, she would actually climb into the hay racks when it got low and it scared the crap out of me! She never got stuck but did have 1 still born but 4 healthy pups. Made me wonder if that one was injured from her climbing in it. Naturally, hay racks are no more. They did little to prevent waste and spreading of hay anyway.
ive never had hay racks, mostly because i cant put them up, im grateful i practically saw this warning though. its a shame about the still born though :(
I’m catching up on some of your older videos and after seeing this video, I hopped right on Chewy and made an order for some of the things you mentioned. Thanks for making people aware of what happened with Petco and Petsmart. That’s so sad 😭 Chewy is definitely a great site and have lots of neat products that Petco and Petsmart never carry.

I’ve been ordering their food on Amazon lately because it’s so much cheaper and I get cash back rewards when I use the Amazon credit card. And all their hay comes from Tractor Supply now.

I’ve been using manuka for yrs, it is great even for humans. you can find it at all pharmacies here although they usually don’t display it, don’t know why really. 🤷♀️ But if you ask they always have it in the drawers under all the product shelves.

Someone asked to surrender their last pig to me so I took him.
The haul was 2 pk puzzle mats, two chenille bath mats from the dollar store, a good water bottle, epsom salt for his fungaly footsies and nail nippers for his thickened “old man” nails and spurs.

Hey so my Guinea pig died last week and we don’t know why but my other Guinea pig named zoomi seems really Down right now and we are trying to find her a friend and get some new toys. I am in the uk so we don’t have petsmart but this will help me with ideas, I love your videos and the pigs !
Another question. So how do you determine What type of fabric you need for Pee pads (and is it a different type of fabric then the fabric you put for them to lay on like bedding?. The guinea pig I rescued today has a bunch of that fluffy bedding down and I feel like maybe having fabric down would be easier to clean up poop and pee. So I’m just curious as to what type of fabric is needed and are those types of things sold or do you have to make it? Also, how do you potty train them lol. That might sound like a stupid question, but I read that you can potty train them to go in a specific location. I don’t know if that’s actually true. I’m sorry I have so many questions.

In april im going to spend around 105 dollars on my guinea pigs. But that is so they have food (pellets,snacks and hay) and toys (balls that they love to eat and play with) for several months to come.

Question for u we rescued my boy n he’s bout 3-4 or 4-5 we don’t kno but he’s not chewing that much is it cuz he’s old? I mean I feel like I’m waisting my money on toys n treats when he’s a picky piggy, like he don’t like the wood chews, or loofa, he sometimes likes the Timothy hay treats, am I doing sum wrong or is he not chewing much cuz he’s older he used to chew a lot n he don’t like the vitamin C tabs
