I found a $10 bargain bin phalaenopsis orchid at a garden store. Nearly all his roots were rotten apart from two little nubby roots. This video is a life saver because I actually feel like I’m not longer in over my head! There’s hope for Alfredo the bargain bin orchid yet!

Alfredo has a pretty good shot with two roots! Orchids with no roots can make it!

I watched your video about taking care of rootless orchids and now my rootless orchid is no longer rootless. It has 5 roots and the stem is all nice and a lovely green. Thanks so much for all your suggestions.

This is the end all, be all best video explanation I have used on all my rescue orchids. I have over 20! LOL! Because I have been sharing my successes (new roots, leaves and flower spikes) with these plants with my friends, I recommend this video to help them step on their orchid journey with confidence! Thanks Danni for everything you do!

Danni these two orchids you’ve repotted are quite the specimens, the size of the leaves on the second one are HUGE, gorgeous plant, wow and the roots! I have 6 orchids now and I absolutely adore taking care of them. You have taught me to become a better orchid mama, thank you for all the informative videos you take the time to create, they are all useful and extremely educational, 🌺💐🌼

There’s so much different advice out here on growing orchids it was really overwhelming so I just decided to pick one person and follow their advice to simplify things for myself and since you have the easiest to use video layout (and most comprehensive), I’m going with your channel. ♥️

I am definitely saving this video. Last year, I purchased a phalaeonapsis orchid from the supermarket. Not knowing anything about orchids, I realised a few weeks later that not one single root was viable! They were all brown and mushy 😔 I cut them back and tried to revive the plant but, due to my lack of knowledge, I was not successful. I recently purchased another palaeonopsis orchid (from the same place 😂) and, this time, I looked for thick green hydrated roots. I am now enjoying my orchid and know what to do when it's time to repot it (which I will definitely do once it stops flowering...it is crammed into a tiny pot!). Thank you for this wonderful video ❤❤❤

❤ I am so happy I found you. I have multiple orchids that I put in terrible shape due to not knowing how to properly care for them, watering is one of the many things I have been doing wrong. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. I am hopeful that my orchids will eventually bloom again once they are healthy and thriving.

After my Phalaeonopsis shot three roots out above the medium, I knew it was time. I'd been hesitating too long and your videos have given me the confidence to repot. Just did it, gave it tons more room for its extensive root system and cut the flower spike that hadn't sent anything out in over a year. Now, let's see how she does. Love your channel, Danni!

Thank you for your videos, they are a orchid lifesaver to a new owner like me. I just got my first ever orchid as a birthday gift on my 50th birthday a month ago. I've been watching your videos to maybe have my gift alive till the next birthday too. My orchid is still in full bloom, though it dropped couple of buds before opening them and I think it was because it didn't have enough light. I live near Arctic Circle and we have only few hours of daylight in January and I didn't have extra light for my orchid. Now it is already many hours more light the flower looks much better again. I will go through many of your videos from now on.

Hi Danni, I've been watching your Orchid Beginners series but have not had much luck. I have beautiful green leaves but no blooms for over a year since I brought it home from the store. I repotted with Repotme products. As for temperatures to get them to bloom, I live in Florida and cannot let my house get down to 64 degrees let alone 74 degrees... I would freeze. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Your help is greatly appreciated, thank you 🙂 I forgot to mention that I have never had a new spike as well and I use time release fertilizer only.

Put them outside for a few weeks in the fall; that should do the trick. Once you see the flower spikes sprouting you can bring them in. I grow outside in coastal South Carolina all year and bring them in when temps go below 45F or so.

Got a phalanopsis the other day. Hope it goes well cause I tried orchids as a child. However when I was a child there was no youtube and no online care guides.

I just watched another video, he says to put orchids outside in morning or afternoon sun. Do you agree? Please help!! I have 5 typical size like yours and 2 minis. I live in constant pain and have neglected my plants, are in poor shape, I've tried different fertilizer but now know they need to be transplanted. I'm now working on all my plants, educating myself for each type of plant.
    Thank you!

Hi, no need to put Orchids outside unless you are looking for a cool down, a good place in your home is enough for good growth :)

I ordered the most expensive planting mix for my phalenopsis from Repotme.
I learned in the video that it comes "pre-moistened," but I am not sure what to do if I go ahead and use it in a new pot for my orchid.
Should I soak the medium before I use it to repot?
Do I water it right away after repotting?
My M.O. for watering has been soaking the perforated pot it's in in room temp water for an hour or so every week or week and a half, then draining it thoroughly.
I got it to re-bloom a year after I received it, and it bloomed until I drew back the sheer curtain that was between it and the window. I made sure direct sun wasn't hitting it, but the blooms dried and withered.
Because the potting medium was so expensive, I really want to get this right.
    Please advise.

Hey Danny, where can I find the Yen Shuai Sweet Girl and Smiley Tangerine? I need to have these beautiful colors of phalaenopsis orchids before I start purchasing the other kinds of orchids! You got me addicted now
