I was in the same situation; unemployed for nearly 10 years after graduating high school. I was able find the problem caused by my being anti-social. When I was nervous, I would withdraw into myself. "Anger turned inward is depression. Anger turned sideways... is Hawkeye." - Dr. Sidney Freeman from, MASH. I found that I needed to turn my anger to the side; get it out of my way. Let my employers know that I WANT to work for them. And it's worked for me. Ever since then, nearly every interview I've had has led to a job offer.

It feels as though no one in society thinks about the ones fallen through the cracks. It's a constant struggle . Why aren't college kids taught on how to correctly break into the job market ? It’s such a crucial issue.

I am a 45yo 100% white BRITISH. I havent work in a job for 15 years. I get a few benefits from the government and is enough to fund my modest lifestyle. Our government love imigrants so much i will those lovely immigrants for and pay the taxes for me. My personal point of view , there is no point to work because you get free money anyway. A lot of my British friends also in the same situation and i encourage people to do have this approach.

If all those who are stuck on the Job centre waiting list could have the ambition of this guy, and hats off to him, then all taxpayers would benefit in the long run. Congratulations on getting your first Job, onwards and upwards now mate :)
But he was unemployed for 2 years , the system should make it easier because many people can do well if they are given a chance but on many occasion u become a product of fail interviews and it also leads people in roads they should not be and mentally down too. Young adult feel withdrawn. If trials jobs are there and steps of probations would be better than failed interviews. Job centre should do more.
ambition? you've clearly never been in this situation. doesn't matter how unmotivated or motivated you are, it's not up to you who gives yourself a job offer. you've never seen people bad at their job? maybe think critically. a lot of people who are unemployed aren't in that situation because they want to.
