Though it only works in HS4s as the spindle diameter on HS2 is too small for the valve stem it seriously transforms a worn carb into a brand new one almost provided the spindle isn't worn to smitherins it works pretty well! I be clocked 10,000kms plus with this patent and still going strong
Great idea. I need to do this on the hs4s on my spitfire and am a bit nervous about drilling out the carb bodies and fouling them. Definately gonna give this a shot to see if it works.
Its carburetor cleaner spray. will reveal leaks as its combustible and the moment it gets sucked in it will alter the idle speed. Be aware its extremely flamable so make sure you do not spray it on a super hot exhaust manifold or you will need a fire extinguisher to spray on the resulting fire too! I recon that won;t be much fun!
Hey thx for the tip! I have never laid my hands on an MPI engine as I ve only owened carburated 998 engines (pre 84) but I will certainly look up them brown valve stem seals! Thank you for the tip!
@@TheMiniDiaries No problem. MPI valve stem oil seal manufactured with original Dupont Viton, as fitted to the twin points engines, are the best material and seal you can use and although expensive are the best to date in stopping the engine smoking. Manufactured using original Dupont Viton which offers excellent resistance to heat, aggressive fuels and chemicals. A "must" for intake valves.
I’ve never heard or come across that tip for reducing air leaks on SU carby shafts. I’ll be sharing that one for sure!

Trust me it works incredibly well! I clock around 10000kms before i need to replace the stems on the carb shaft. Cheap cheap and reliable
What were you spraying out of interest, as I need to check for air leaks too.

Valve stem oil seal as used on MPI models ( Browm)
Should last longer.
Thanks for video great tip.
