Excellent work. Wish I had installed Spal electric fan in my INNOCENTI 1001 and not a no name one which came with the aluminium radiator! Also your level of English is very good. Looking forward to your next ventures.👍🏻

Demetris thank you for your comment! i m really glad you liked the video and I do sincerely hope your Inno is safe and sound despite the fan predicament!! Trust me I've been there in the past with cheap brandless parts and they were always causing more harm than good so I m sticking with descent part suppliers if I am to have any chances of seeing my European trip through from start to finish! Stay tuned as more adventures are on the way!! Have a nice day ahead!

Nice colour! The cooling system of the Mini works beautifully as standard without any additional fan. You just need to flush the circuit every year, fill with classic inorganic type coolant (modern organic breaks your heater matrix and brass unions into pieces) and water pump in order. I'm using the 82º thermostat, live in Spain and my Mini never ever reaches 98º at the hottest point of the head cylinder in summer. Great video.

Robin thank you for the comment!! Its always cool to hear stories and experiences from fellow mini oweners from around the world! I do take care of my cooling system just like you mention but my radiator is way past its working life. It was never much to brag about honestly and its been giving me headaches since day one. it was one of those wrong purchases were cheap is actually expensive at the end. I will eventually replace it when i got some euros in my pocket but for now I need to make do with what I have. The extra cooling fans keeps my mind at ease during summer! Im glad you liked the video!

Excellent story UNTIL you grabbed the hammer! I was thinking to myself, "Run, Bob...RUN!!!" That was funny. What coolant did you use? It looks like the same color for windshield wiper cleaner fluid that we use in the US.

Well, being an engineer I can tell you that despite our progress as a species on earth, some archegonal tools like the hammer do tend to resolve issues in a surprisingly fast and efficient way!! :-) I use standard ethyl glycol antifreeze in Bob and he seems quite content so far with it! To be honest as windhsield wiper washer fluid i use a concoction of rubbing alcohol and water which has great cleaning and antistatic effects while being cheap as heck at the same time.

Can someone explain to me whats going on? Watched the video twice and I don't see how the problem (overcooling) is made better by an upgraded fan. I was thinking of blanking out my grill in order to not have air flow from the front of the car.

Thank you for having watched the video. The trick is that once you remove the belt driven fan , the electric one will switch on only when it gets a signal from the thermostatic temperature sensor which basically tells the fan when to come on and off. In super cold weather it works perfectly on mine. Just make sure you reinstall the belt driven fan when the weather turns warm again otherwise the electric one alone will not be able to cool the car sufficiently due to the side orientation of the radiator.
