  • We have been very busy building the drivers compartment divider, the rollover hoop and the steering column. Big thanks to Garth Bergstrom from GPE Engineering for always helping us out!

I've been searching for videos like this for so long time. I am sure a lot more people are like me too. Keep it up when you can and never change your style of filming, please.

    Man, I couldn't even get a go-kart when I was 10.
I didn't even know this kind of racing was thing. Twelve year olds in carbon fiber chassis, with machined parts and full fire-extinguisher systems. Wow!

      Yip me too!
My father thought racing was a waste of time but we love our racing!

I always dreamt of building F1 car powered by electric motors. You’ve really inspired me 😃🔥👍… I look forward to work with you some day 👍

If Gordon Murray had been born in the 80s.... I am very impressed with the work you are doing!!! What is your weight target for the car?

    • @miniindycarprojectza7793

Thank you for the compliment! Our target is 385kgs dry and 450kgs driver and fuel.

if electric the air dram would hold the batteries. adding proper weight to the car equally on both side.

How much have you spent on carbon fiber?

what was your monocoque finished weight please.

This reminds me of when they were first experimenting with Carbon. They made the monocoque so strong that it wouldn't even crack hitting the wall full speed head on.
I'd have gone with 3 layers and one kevlar, foam core, 3 more layers of carbon and a kevlar. It would get banged up hitting the wall wide open but it is much gentler on the occupant.
You are definitely master level skills putting so many layers together. I was thinking how can he possibly flow the resin out. It worked, wow.

Thanks for the compliment but definitely not a master just VERY lucky!! However I do agree with you. We did explore a 6 plie layup and due to the large variation of out comes, opted with extra is better philosophy. We do have a number of elements that will absorb large amounts of force on the exterior portions of the car and also will be using a "suspended" seat setup for internal along with impact foam in various areas.
