This channel is all about fun and pushing the limits! We’re a family dedicated to Motorsport and I’m trying to help my son fulfill his dream of racing Professionally one day. We will journey into the unknown a bit and probably make a lot of mistakes but giving up isn’t an option! I’ve always had a passion for racing and projects so combining all of that, here we are, father and son, building the first Mini IndyCar in South Africa!
Caleb's Max Verstappen Inspired Helmet Design
My Son is Max crazy and we surprised him with this helmet! Its a complete wrap, no paint except for the clear coat. This was done by Vaughn Repsold from Lidicious Helmet wraps.

nice job mate
Great videos, lots and lots of hard work. So what ever happened to the project?
Did you track the expenses?
can i now the total weight of this monocoque ?? and what kind of resin you use? Thankyou😉
I see you made two round cutouts in the top part, cup holders I presume. I know staying hydrated is important and you really like having a beer down there but do you really need built in cup holders? :-)
4:28 what is this spray he use??
what would be the total cost including raw materials and manufacturing process ? for student formula car
What ever happened with this?
talking layers to the CF composite is kind of pointless when the light clearly shows it's riddled with air pockets on the surface much less taking an ultrasonic reading which would be pointless at this point... and then you have the gall to say 'massively strong'
Hi, I am student working in Formula Student team in India, We currently make Spaceframe chassis due to knowledge limitation and budget issues, But i want to change this trend and make a monocoque draft ready for future teams, Is it possible for you to connect and then we can discuss about it. Best Regards.
Hey, I am an engineering student interested in starting a similar project. I am familiar with CAD modeling and some FEA work but not a ton. I would love to know what FEA (or other) processes you used to determine the wall thickness at various points in the chassis. How did you calculate a safety factor without destroying the chassis? Any resources I could look to to help me answer these questions would be awesome. Amazing project and thank you for the videos
Does anyone know what happend? I really enjoyed their videos, sad to see there are no new updates
05:59 thankyou sir..i specialized looking for this techniq... I trying to make a 1:1 scale replica of F22 Raptor fighter jet replica project but I'm still confused about the strength of the connection joint between the body frame and the wing frame, whether the connection is strong enough if it's just bolted directly between carbon fiber and carbon fiber without any solid mounting bar installed. in a carbon body such as titanium or forged steel.
Awesome project, what type of foam is this, and its density please?
How is ur edges of carbon fibre is perfect
Just found this and its incredible. see that you haven't posted in a couple years and I hope that you were able to complete it! A mountains worth of work, but the thrill will be worth it
I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Why did you stop uploading? Will you be able to continue with the build? Many, MANY people agree with me that your videos are informative and wholesome with your son. I pray you’re all safe and healthy. Cheers.
Hi, what happened? Why did you stop uploading? I pray everything is okay and safe and healthy with you all. I along with many other people really enjoyed your video’s and builds. Please, if you can, try to update and/or upload some more videos. Anyways, hope all is okay and safe. Cheers.
Great build I want to make something similar with similar dimensions. How much did you spend on the carbon fiber material for this project?
good stuff my man. What's going on with the project? I'm stoked to see how you've progressed.
You can glue square tubes between the carbon sheets instead of the foam.
This is pretty cool... Did you use regular gorilla glue on the foam ?
Really enjoyed the project, sad to see that it ended like that apparently. I just hope they are all safe & healthy. Loved to watch this father & son duo
Such a beautiful job you have done! Amazing
Incredibly work, nicely done. But I´m a bit curious about the pvc foam core, what was its purpose in first place?
Stiffness of composite surface is related to its thickness^3. The foam core is a cheaper and more light-weight way of achieving thickness without adding layer after layer after layer of CF.
Amazing video! Where did you get that vacuum bag from? Whats its name? Thanks
good greetings magnificent car by any chance do you have the videos designing the chassis and bodywork of the car in cad?
The alumunium honeycomb core works better with pre-preg than VARTM
Top job🏁🏆!
Bravo Guys🏁🏆👏
Leka man my fellow south african!
What's the status of this project?
The year was 1977. I had discovered go karts and my cousin had a paper set of plans to build a wooden derby cart like the one you are building. The plans were lost to time and the kart was never built I was thinking of that the other day and here in my feed is build in carbon !
Hi. I can use eva foam instead of pvc foam?
What happened with this project? I do a search time to time, but there is no newer video than the helmet one. Nice background music btw. If I am not wrong, that is originally a Hungarian folk song. :) (A csitári hegyek alatt.)
Super nice work!!!
What were your thoughts on using aluminum inserts vs possibly using potted inserts
I too thought about this. I assume the necessity for all that extra fiberglass insulation is somewhat of a problem
Did the project die?
I guess so 😅
what kind of foam was used for the grips?
THIS IS SO COOL 👏🏽
You are a freaking legend.
Any update on your project?
Which method did you use for manufacturing of the steering wheel.
+1
wow where can i buy the products you use for the Monocoque?
The whole series should be filmed by BBC :) There was a great series like "A car is born" (as far as I recall it correctly) in there. I admire your knowledge and I wish I could do similar things with my son... Congrats!
That looks fantastic 👍
Aluminum on carbon is not good 😢
What program are you using to render?
Really cool project mate, how are you stopping the aluminium inserts from reacting with the carbon causing long term corrosion? I use a layer of s glass fiberglass just wondering if you have a better way.
@Matthew Watt he’s addressed it in another video, you absolutely do especially in a structurally integral life cell.
@Matthew Watt he just does what I do, fibreglass mating surface
Amazing, doing your own CF is super hard to do. So many steps and specialized equipment put CF out of reach for most backyard car makers. If you have the time, money, equipment, and knowledge, CF is usually superior to other types of composite manufacturing. I am most familiar with FG composite.
