    Great interview Mr. Carr. I’m not sure why I missed this from a year ago. Came back looking for it after watching Shawn Ryan’s interview of Christian Craighead. I can’t believe this only has 55,000 views. Every American needs to watch this.

      @sar4x474 i totally agree, i hope normies see this, or better yet she starts speaking out about the 2nd amendment and the sacrifices made on behalf of the people. our society has become so cynical and our culture so destructive and so fundamentally anti american if we do not win over the hearts of the next generations we will descend into further chaos.

    SAS 22 squadron are the best special forces unit in the world. Their training and techniques are taught to other s forces for a reason. On the day in question Chris was not out shopping, he was in his apartment which was around 30 mins away. He had just had a shower when his friend called from inside the hotel complex. He said there was a terrorist attack under way and he needs to get there ASAP. 15mins of advanced driving later, he arrived at the complex. the rest was history. Ironic that 22 innocent people died but 700 or more were saved by lone SAS 22 squadron operative Christian Craighead.
    Imagine my pride when I discovered he, like myself is a Geordie from Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England!

    • @Dr.Ian-Plect
      @Dr.Ian-Plect 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is not called "SAS 22 squadron". The word is regiment, the name of the regiment is 22 SAS. A squadron is a division, a sub-unit within the regiment. There are 4 squadrons, each further divided into troops, then patrols.

    What a woman! Amazing interview. I've followed the Nairobi event since the live feed blew my mind. The fresh info finally making it out is wonderful, this podcast included. Chris's book will be the final piece... until one hell of a movie some day!? Her sharp reflection and philosophical understanding since that crazy horrible experience is a breath of fresh air to hear. Massive respect to her for putting it in print and for now being able to articulate it so perfectly but still so personally.

      @@ALANL4460 The MOD don't like it because the establishment thinks it sets a bad example, because he was operating technically between what was "advising" which he was in Kenya to do and part of his orders, and direct engagement. However, as one of the other SAS (chris ryan) guys has said about previous missions part of their training is mission modification, Chris himself for example when advising BOPE in Brazil went on raids with them.

      @@lewisb85 One thing Chris Ryan said that I agree with is that if an operation is in the public domain as in the press have gotten the story etc the stories should only be vetted for operational procedures and methods still in use. Chris Ryan and Andy McNab were great recruiting tools for the army and SAS in the 90s as there was a huge bump in applications for selection as there was after Nimrod. Stuff in the public domain if allowed would be a great tool when the British Army has a recruitment crisis

    • @lewisb85

      @@ALANL4460 I agree I saw that thing on channel 4 news the other night where they talked about how applications to tier 2 (pathfinders etc) are down, so if the pathfinders and for example the royal marines mountain leaders' recruitment is down the two main filter point for the SAS, SBS and SRR surely that means numbers in the tier 1 units will start to suffer, I think the MOD should embrace Christian and get him on every podcast and program they can like the US army does with Tim Kennedy, use him as a full time recruitment tool.

    1:00:32 I'm a woman early 30s and I have been going through this exact shift in thinking the last couple of years, and wow, I'm a Brit but this conversation here had me tearing up. It's really something to feel patriotism, here in the UK being politically on the left in particular, my whole life it's like we've never been allowed to really say we feel proud of being British or proud of our military. But these sentiments Meyli expresses here are how I feel now. It's frightening I didn't feel it before, and frightening to look around and see how many people do not feel that way towards our service people and everyone in the West who is protecting and sheltering us and keeping the wolves from the door.

Nothing would surprise me about how dirty our corrupt governors are in world affairs.

    The paragraph at 59:39 was awesome. I’m glad that she now understands why our military and first responders are so critical to freedom. However, these defenders of freedom are only effective if we have the right politicians leading them. We are starting to see more and more government agencies being used against Americans. Voting the right people into office is far better then just saying thank you to our military and police.

    Jack and Meyli should understand that CC was a highly skilled and experienced professional soldier, an SAS team leader accustomed to being given a task and completing it, determining the priorities, making decisive decisions, instructing his team, doing the task without innocent casualties, keeping his men safe, neutralising any threats.
    He was phoned by a friend asking for help so he did, arrived, armed, assessed and acted, primarily to get people out safely, acted as a team leader organising the unorganised and operated as a team of one inside the building, killed 2 nasties and suppressed 2 others into hiding, wounded.
    He stayed those 17 hours, attributed with saving 700, acted rogue solo doing what he was good at for hours before Kenyan special forces came and he stepped back to advise them.
    His biggest worries were acting without permission in a foreign country and in being shot by nervous friendlies. He also said that he operated flawlessly, a culmination of his army career's training and experience that perfectly prepared him for this moment, of 17 hours.
    Most true heroes are humble, unassuming, CC is no different, it was his job and he was good at it. He says that he has done 1,000 ops so I wouldn't tease him or ask him what his body count is.

    • @lewisb85
      @lewisb85 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What people seem to forget us that the SAS are trained to modify orders where appropriate, on assessing the situation he might have felt it would have saved time etc for him to lead the narobi special forces team as opposed to just advise. Chris Ryan did a similar thing in Brazil when he was teaching counter terrorism skills to BOPE, he was actually involved in several high importance raids.

    Christian Craighead was not there shopping. A friend of his who was trapped in the Dusit complex called him to tell him a complex terrorist attack was underway and there was no police or security response and to please help. CC had his kit all set and was not far away at his own residence, jumped in his vehicle and went to the scene. Shawn Ryan has a riveting interview with Christian Craighead on his TH-cam channel. CC remains very limited in what he can say due to the ridiculous UK Ministry of Defense shutting down his book publication or even speaking in detail under threat of imprisonment is absurd. Even with the limits on his level of disclosure, the 3+ hour interview is riveting. Another awesome interview is on Project-Archangel’s TH-cam channel with another foreign expat - Slovenian operator named Dan Prastalo, who was in Kenya working as a private security contractor who also responded to the scene and joined up with Craighead on scene (never having met each other prior). The Prastalo interview is also awesome and he fills in some detail but limits it saying the one who deserves 80-90% of the credit and ability to tell the full details for the counter assault and rescue is Christian Craighead. CC remains barred still from detailed disclosure. Strongly recommend listening to both of those interviews which are riveting and compelling. There are some incredibly special and brave and good human beings out there in this world.
    Edit: Prastalo makes it clear that the Kenyan police and security forces played a very limited role in the operation, with a very small number of exceptions, and but for those exceptions there was a fairly widespread level of incompetence and even cowardice on the part of a lot of the Kenyan police/security forces. He had a bodycam on that recorded both video and audio of his actions including numerous instances of asking the Kenyan police forces to more actively help and they in a lot of cases did not. Yes, a few Kenyans helped - including a few armed civilians - but it was mostly Christian Craighead and a few other foreign expats who responded led and directed the response which was totally chaotic. Pastrala, who had lived for years in Kenya to that point had to eventually leave the country because the survivors accounts corroborated that the rescue and counterattack was not really done by the Kenyan police who were totally embarrassed by the truth and he feared they would set him up to be killed or arrested on false charges.

      I think the fact his job in Nairobi was to advise helped in regard to that grey area, If I remember correctly chris Ryan was "advising" bope in Brazil. He actually went on and took part in raids with them.

    What an amazing interview, and what an amazing story. It always gives me hope to hear heroic stories like this, and it was really powerful hearing her talk becoming proud of the armed forces and feeling so patriotic. We really are lacking that heroic masculinity, and the love of country that comes from realizing the sacrifices made in order to shield everyday people from the brutality of the world. Also i love that shes pro gun now, we need to win the hearts of people especially the youth if we want to keep the 2nd amendment. All it will take is one generation who dont understand the constitution to vote our rights into oblivion.

    Great interview and a great book. Her story is amazing, all of it, including the recovery. In the audio one thing stood out to me immediately, she was talking about the completely wrong media coverage she learned of later. In it, imo, they clearly edited out the term "fake news" and instead used a thesaurus word salad phrase instead, to avoid any connection to what has been a 7 year proven history of that phrase.

    Anyone remember after 9/11 and the mid 2000s it was a thing for civilians who traveled to places like Africa on the company dime to get a kind of abbreviated SERE course?
    Maybe it would be something for someone to set up again and make ubiquitous?
