Reminds me of Dan Hick's & His Hot Licks music!!! That's a compliment from me to you!!! I like your style!!!! Come to N. Mexico & you'll fit right in!!! Velva from Santa Fe, N. Mexico 5-9-16
Excellent rendition of this old Roy Rogers tune..... Did anyone notice that there is a white dog [unimpressed] dozing or asleep on the floor, right in front of this trio??
Whit does own a 1928 L5 Gibson but the guitar in this clip is his regular workhorse- a 1946 Gibson L5 that somebody sawed a great big cutaway out of the body. He has an added pickup for an electric sound.
@@NickRatnieks I have to give kudos to the soundman for being able to move each respective instrument in and out with perfect timing. I hadn't noticed it before, but it's quite apparent that brought up and then down at the exact right moment. Kudos.
@@alext8828 Yes, it does sound great. I have seen them three times and they seems to get a good balanced sound in their shows. I have managed to chat to them each time and they are great individuals. I have a nice signed photo of the band. I must try and see them again but sadly, they have not played anywhere near me on their most recent trips over here.
Daddy sang that to my sister and me when he put us to bed around 1950. First time I've heard this in decades. Brings back so many good memories.
Excellent... I’m disabled and my mobility sucks... but when I hear these folks play.... even my old crippled feet start moving
fantastic.. ❤️❤️❤️
It's nice to have a signed photo of Elana- she's a real powerhouse performer and a sassy woman.
Quality talent with great taste. A combination hard to beat !!!
I hope you're all still performing, Bob Wills would be proud.
This song takes me back to the good old days. Nice song. I like.
These folks are so good it's scary!Kudos to Larry for having them.
Always great to see them live. Favorite show was Happy Hour at the Continental Club in Austin. Swing dancing, and pass the hat.
I so want that guitar!! Great playing 'n singing all!
Love this fantastic dave from Sydney Australia
It doesn't get better than that. Bob Wills is smiling down on them. That L5 with the DeArmond pickup sounds so good.
Those folks, look like there having fun. Great Sound, love the style and the song.
One of my favourite groups and this show is excellent.
i just love these guys - so pure
Jimmy Capps sitting 2 feet from you watching your guitar playing - no pressure :~{D
I hope that some time they come close enough so I can see them live!
Good sound. More please.
Great playing by all ! keep em comin please !
Whit is a HIGHLY underrated guitarist. Impressive by all three.

I Like this. Real Cool♫♪♫♫ Thanks.♥ December 1st.,2020 ♦ From Brooklyn, New York.♫♪♫♫
This trio has more drive then a band 3 times as big. And no pedal steel or piano or brass section.
Yep. Jake's great URB playing (he's the bass player AND ersatz drummer) lets Elana and Whit be able to do that interplay so nicely.
That is gorgeous.
Composed (words & music) by the great Johnny Mercer. Lovely tongue-in-cheek tune!
Great fun and sound!
LOVE IT!!
Lyrics
I'm an old cowhand from the Rio Grande
But my legs ain't bowed and my cheeks ain't tan
I'm a cowboy who never saw a cow
Never roped a steer 'cause I don't know how
Sure ain't a fixing to start in now
Oh, yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
I'm an old cowhand and I come down from the Rio Grande
And I learned to ride, ride, ride 'fore I learned to stand
I'm a riding fool who is up to date
I know every trail in the Lone Star State
'Cause I ride the range in a Ford V 8
Oh, yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
Yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
We're old cowhands from the Rio Grande
And we come to town just to hear the band
We know all the songs that the cowboys know
'Bout the big corral where the doggies go
We learned them all on the radio
Yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
I'm an old cowhand
(Oh yes, Mr. Bing)
(Too hot for you, Uncle Fudd)
Down from the Rio Grande
Oh where the west is wild all around the borderland
Where the buffalo roam around the zoo
And the Injuns run up a rug or two
And the old Bar X is just a barbecue, yeah
Yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
I'm a pioneer who began from scratch
I don't bat an eye in a shootin' match
They don't call me Elmer, they call me Satch
Yippie yi yo kayah, yippie yi yo kayah
Get along little horsy
Get along little horsy
Yippie yi yo kayah, oh

This is so very nice. Tasteful and fun.
Just Great!
Not to shabby...
So smooooooooooooth...
Les meilleurs
Obviously excellent musicians! And great music. The only thing that they are missing is
a steel guitarist in the same tradition as Leon
McAuliffe.🎻🎸
Johnny Mercer wrote this song as satire.

That's Eva, Elana's dog.
@@pompal Now, sadly, deceased. RIP, Eva.
Gene Autry
I remember seeing them on Later with Jools Holland the guitar player sounds a bit like Les Paul , but a sound from just the 3 of them
It almost impossible, what they're doing here. (with three people).
:)
Carson Robison's is the BEST version.
When I saw the screenshot of the video, I thought that was John Cena playing the upright bass
I have no musical ability, Tried piano, banjo and sax. Nope. But if I did I would play this kind of music.
What guitar is Whit playing. I cant' see the logo on the headstock.
A vintage (1929) Gibson L5.

Whit handles the guitar and steel guitar parts. Too much
