The explanation starts at two minutes in - add a wah pedal (weeper) - hit "hamburger menu" button - click "bypass assign" - change "Switch" to expression pedal 2 - change "position" to 0% - change "wait" to 350ms - click "Learn" - Move your expression pedal ( physically ) - notice the WAH block lights up - move it back, notice the block shuts off - hit "hamburger menu" button - 2nd dial in, set it to "EXP Pedal 2" - Set "min value" to 12% - Set the "max value" to 88% - click "save" twice
Exactly what I was looking for ! I love Morley wah and now having bought a helix was worried I wouldn’t be able to replicate but this is perfect thanks !!
you are simply the best. Honestly..spent the last hour looking for free whammy preset but only took few minutes listening to you to accomplish this 😃thanks .. keep it up
Hey Jonny - Thanks for you video's. On this one I cant figure out what I am missing as expression pedal2 is also acting as a volume control whit the wah. When it is heel down everything { both wah and volume } is off. Any hints . Thanks
Great video! Question: what exactly are you using for Expression Pedal 2? I apologize if this was already answered in the comments. I gleaned quickly but did not notice anything.
@@TonyMouawad there’s no external pedal mate .. the helix will use the same pedal and flick between 1 and 2 .. so 1 for volume pedal , then push down and engage the wah on expression 2 . Sorry for the confusion
Thanks for this Jonny! Trying to set this to EXP 1 so I can use EXP 2 for my external expression pedal, but every time when I get to the "Learn" step and move the pedal it changes to EXP 2. Thoughts on how to correct? Thanks again!
No problem man , I’ve only just seen this comment sorry .. I can’t understand why it’s not working for you , you might have to manually activate the pedal you want to assign it to ? .. again I’m not positive..
@@aaronsteele9936 Thanks for sharing that video. Still haven't found a fix and living with it. On the upside on one preset I use often, the wah is now on my external expression pedal and is working in auto on mode. So based on the video maybe this has something to do with using an LT?
So, the workaround for me was to assign the wah to my outboard Mission expression pedal without the toe switch and assign the whammy to the onboard expression pedal. Works just fine.
It’s a compromise really , if you’re using the volume as a swell in or actually using it to back off volume in your patches then no . I have a switch set to kill volume between songs so a volume pedal isn’t actually needed .
Great video! Thank you for the easy explanation. On to hanburgers... I've heard the technical term is Elipsis. I've also heard it called the Hamburger. I prefer Hamburger myself. Less pretentious sounding.

No problem thanks for watching
This has got to be by far the easiest explanation of setting up a wah pedal on the Helix on the entire interweb...!! THANK YOU..!!
You’re very welcome , thanks for watching.

Awesome ! Thanks for watching mate I appreciate it.
Another BRILLIANT instructional clip on the Helix! Thank you so much for demystifying the Wah!
No problem mate , thanks for watching
Great vid. How do I get it to activate , with the toe? Click on it, goes on, click down, off. Thanks
You just move the pedal to activate it .. follow the instructions and it will work .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist Does it only turn off when you move it back to 0% or when the wah pedal stops "moving"?
When it’s back at heel position. If it’s in half way it will stay there if it’s moving or not . To be off has to be fully back .
Great tip, thanks for sharing. Do you happen to know you can also change a snapshot this same way?
The exp pedal can be assigned to control any parameter, so if you want more drive , delay etc , just assign it to the pedal .

If there’s a volume block ,remove it .
Hi Jonny, would using a cry baby pedal externally before or after the Helix be okay ?
Congratulations ;From medellin Colombia.I don't speak english ,but your video is wonderfull.thank you very much

The wah is assigned to expression pedal 2 .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist what is the make and model of the pedal you have plugged into the Helix for expression Pedal 2. I'm in the market to add a pedal.

hello Jonny can i activate wah, delay and boost at same time when i press on expression pedal also'?
I’ve never done that , I don’t see why not .
This was the highlight of my day, thank you for this. Cheers!

Wow super cool and useful! I love my Helix and had no idea this was possible. Thank you!

@@JonnyLeeguitarist i love the command center and deep you can go with this unit. It is a dream rig imo 👌💕

Is there anyway to make the whammy not turn off all sound when you have the pedal all the way up?
Reset it if it doesn’t work for you . Clear the block .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist god your quick at replying haha thank you! Il try it there :D

I have many settings with a volume pedal at the beginning of the chain (sometimes end of chain). Will this work for those?

Americans don’t say “wahr” pedal 😂
That’s true 😅
You owe me $3 for use of my Bernie meme!
I’ll send a cheque .
In America it's still wah, not wahr
😅
