  • ▼Tokyo-Station Overview
Located in the heart of Japan's capital, Tokyo, Tokyo Station is one of the largest railroad terminals in Japan, opened in 1914 and blending historical architecture with modern functions. The beautiful red-brick station building in particular is a popular tourist attraction. Tokyo Station is served by Shinkansen bullet trains, local trains, and subways, and serves as an access point to various parts of Tokyo as well as the rest of Japan.
The station is also home to a wide variety of stores and restaurants where visitors can enjoy Japanese souvenirs and meals. In particular, the Ekinaka (commercial facilities within the station) are well-stocked and convenient for travelers. Furthermore, Tokyo Station is close to the business district, with many office buildings and hotels located nearby.
The Tokyo Station area is also home to historic and modern districts such as Marunouchi and Nihonbashi, which are great places to stroll around. The Imperial Palace is also within easy reach, offering visitors a taste of Japanese history and culture.
For foreign visitors to Japan, Tokyo Station is more than just a transportation hub; it is one of the most important places to experience the history, culture, and modernity of Japan.
