Sweet!! Just got a 4Runner 2023 TRD Off Road and looking forward to having some fun with it. Thanks for the tour, gave me some good tips and ideas.
I truly enjoy the up-date of what you plan will work and what actually does perform as you need it.
Thanks Mike
Nice rig! Like you, I found the power options lacking. I went with an Odyssey 31 AGM battery (R4T setup) and installed a little diode network (Voltage Booster Pro) that plugs into the fuse slot for the battery. But, because of my lighting demands, I've installed a DC Power, Inc., alternator. So, my battery now gets plenty of power as long as I don't use most of the lights. Plugging anything into the 12v/cigarette lighter plug is a joke. I installed a Renogy 2,000 Watt inverter in the back and I plug my battery bank into that while driving. Within 90 minutes, my Anker 757 is fully charged.
You might consider swapping out your radiator with a CFS all metal unit. It provides increased cooling capacity for the engine AND the transmission. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it. I looked into your setup and like it’s simplicity.
Try a larger alternator that puts out more power when it's charging the 4 runner.
Nice build. I am heading the same way with my 4Runner. It is nice to get ideas as to how I do my mods.
Sick rig!
Thank you.
Good video, thanks for sharing. Nice setup in the back with fridge, looks very organized. I’m running a 21 ORP same color.
It’s an very capable rig!
Second battery relieves strain on the charge system just my experience I have two yellow top optima’s that work great
For the amount of accessories I’m running, I won’t need a dual battery. I also don’t spend multiple days at camp without driving. I know other people may have greater power requirements and would be better off with a dual battery. But for most weekend warriors, this system should be enough. Thank you for watching!
I'm off road virgin but I love doing dirt roads everytime I do road trips on West Coast when I rent SUV. Hopefully one day I purchase a serious 4x4 but in FL where I live it's kind of pointless -I need mountains 😊
I live in Minnesota. So I know what you mean about a lack of mountains. The black hills in South Dakota are the closest mountains I have near me. But, I love road trips and don’t mind driving a full day to get to Colorado.
why is their such a massive gap from the hood to the front bumper
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure I understand the question.
