You only realize his importance once you leave Qatar and move to India and realize, education is just purely business. School managements are only interested in raking in as much cash as possible, their is no genuine desire for them to see you improve & be successful in life. Principal Md Kunhi had that genuine interest in students. You realize we needed that tough discipline to succeed.. & believe me the boys section atleast was notorious. Had it not been for his strict and dedicated work, many of us would have ended up as huge failures in life.

One thing many may not be aware is that Kunhi sir hated the concept of tuitions. He believed teachers should teach in such a way that classroom teaching in school should be enough. I later realized in life how this was a flourishing business in India where school teachers would just take classes for the sake of attendance and attract students for tuitions where they taught real stuff. He firmly believed if school teachers were allowed to take tuitions the quality of classes during school time wud go down.
He further curbed tuitions by asking school teachers to take special classes for higher grades if many students were failing class.
Not just that he held parents accountable, he could shout and scream at you to discipline you with your parents standing next to you and none of the parents would complain as they knew he was right.
He was the first person to reach school and the last one to leave.
