Can you keep the hydrangeas in the box for a couple of days before you process it, or do you have to take them out and put them in water right away?

I am sorry but you cannot. Hydrangeas are very sensitive to a lack of water. They arrive with a "Wet Foot" which is a water source on the bottom of the stem. When you get them you need to take the "Wet Foot" off and put them in water.
