Sam's PTSD I think stems from the fact she's lived a comfortable life, daughter of a rich family, only fighting is in the dojo. Her first real fight she almost got 5 holes punctured into her face, a guy breaks his spine, other guy on the run, so it's reasonable.
Yeah, she's lived a VERY privileged life. Even learning Karate it was only with her dad. She wasn't ready to face the real world like the other characters.

Demetri is definitely still holding out hope that his Eli is still in there. He is the type of person that doesn’t give up on people he cares about. Expecially after Hawk’s hesitation and his look of regret this episode it’s clear that Eli isn’t completely gone. Of course that’s not an excuse but I think breaking his old friend’s arm is the wake up call he needs to see what Cobra Kai truly is
About the whole Sam PTSD thing. I took it as that she's scared of Tory because of the fact that she used a weapon . She clearly has no problem fighting hand to hand, but it's the fact that Tory has no problem using whatever tactic she feels like and has the scars to prove it that terrifies Sam. Yeah, she got the last hit in, but mentally she lost that fight
Exactly. And to add to that Tory fights like she’s out for blood. She’s the type to beat you and torture you to the brink of death, if not actually kill you. She lacks the same kind of remorse that Hawk obviously has.
Yeah. At the end of season 2 Tory went to cobra Kai for class that night. Sam went to the hospital. Now, here Sam has come seeking a fight and Tory shows up and calls her out. Plus Sam has the guilt of thinking rightly and wrongly that the school fight was all her fault compounding it.
Well said! PTSD is a serious condition i know ive had it. Understandable why she froze up. Also had she fought tori again & beat her the outcome would still be the same for Dimitri & Sam would have been beaten by all the others as she was outnumbered 7 to 1. I think many of the fans I watch seem to react this way towards Sam without thinking it through.
Sam did start that fight looking for revenge, which is absolutely against miyagi teachings. So I think the point is that what happened kind of was her fault. “If you’re looking for revenge you should start by digging two graves”
It’s not revenge at that point it’s fighting back against getting bullied. Miyagi signed up Daniel in the tournament and trained him to allow Daniel to fight back against his bullies. Sam did the same just without a tournament

Sam shouldn't have initiated the fight actually. But at the same time, PTSD is real. It completely overwhelms you. But that is why you should avoid confrontations until you have fully recovered from it. Sam is a really good person but she is very indecisive and prone to make wrong decisions at the wrong time. That's what gets other people hurt.

The real reason why Hawk did that to Demetri is because that was the exact same position Miguel had Robby in at the end of season 2. Miguel showed mercy, then Robby put Miguel in a coma. Hawk didn’t want to make that exact same mistake
I know ppl don't agree with how Jonny and Miguel have this close bond but ppl need to realise that when everyone gave up on Jonny including Robbie, Miguel didn't he has always believed in Jonny and Jonny is the closest thing to a father that Miguel will ever have. Not saying that it's ok for Jonny to seemingly choose miguel over his blood son Robbie but Robbie's jealousy is going to keep causing him to push Jonny into Miguel's life.
People also should keep in mind that Johnny has always seen himself as a screw up, never had a great upbringing or even had a father figure growing up. Instead he had his crappy stepdad and Kreese, who he resented greatly. To him leaving Johnny with his mother seemed like the better option because it was guaranteed he wouldn’t be able to screw that up.
Agreed. from Johnny's point of view I get why he's always gravitating back to Miguel. Because even when he's trying so hard with Robby, everything just seems to go wrong whenever they interact. It never ends well for either of them. Just look at when he tried to help Robby last season. It broke up a building friendship between him and Daniel... It broke up his relationship with Carmen and it got Miguel critically injured. Than whenever he tries to help now. Looking for Robby. Ends badly. Visiting him in the soup kitchen. It goes wrong. I would get the feeling too that everything goes wrong in my child's life, seemingly because of me. I would stay away too. While in another's life somehow it seems yiy need each other to have at least a purpose in life. And that's Miguel for him. And Johnny for Miguel. I think people shouldn’t judge Robby and completely defend Johnny. Johnny may have had a rough up bringing and lack of a father figure but what excuse it’s that to miss not only the birth of ur child but years of his life also in the school fight, Robby tried to break up the fight after Tory called Sam out for her and Miguel kissing each other and Miguel and Robby both knew what Tory was trying to do but Miguel attacked Robby and then egged him on in the fight saying that Sam loves him not Robby so Miguel wanted a fight not Robby. Miguel showed mercy at the wrong time. He should have showed it before he starting mentioning Sam in the fight or before the fight so both Robby and Miguel are at fault for his injury. Robby makes mistakes but he’s not all to blame. It’s just that some people choose favorites and hate to see something happen to them. People think that Miguel is just this great character and I like Miguel to but he’s at fault too. He didn’t have to fight Robby but he did and he also didn’t apologize to Tory. He may have gotten hurt but he could have called her if he still really cared. He was her boyfriend so neither him or Sam apologized for the kiss.

The way Robbie was defending Sam Miguel was trying to defend Tori in that moment and did he say some things he shouldn't have yes does that mean that Robbie should kick him over a railing absolutely not Robbie does not get a pass because his dad was a jerk and because his mom is a jerk like no, Danny was trying to teach him how to be a good person then he was trying to help him and show him a better way of life notice how a split second of anger caused him to almost ruin his entire life. Now I'm not saying anyone's better than the other I was specifically saying that people need to stop ragging on Miguel and Johnny's relationship because they're upset that Johnny doesn't have one with Robbie that's all I'm saying.
LOL half these discussions are always about Sam character. In my opinion: Sam doesn't deserve the hate that she gets from people but she does makes mistakes that i get would leave people frustrated but to say that she's the cause of all is not fair, she is usually involved with all the causes but there were other people to blame as well, what this show does well is that there are many layers to the situations that happens and neither side is completely right or wrong!
You don't ever call her out on her wrongs either. So your doing what your saying others do also for your favorite character sam. Your calling the kettle black my guy 😊 but it is entertaining as hell. Every character has done right and wrong on this show and I love it

Yeah, I could tell deep down inside that Hawk still has feelings for Demetri but is trying so hard to hide it because he's probably worried that if he becomes friends with him again that his friends at Cobra Kai will feel betrayed and turn their back on him since they're supposed to be bullies and not befriend people from Miyagi-Do. Whenever Hawk is staring at Demetri he's not looking at him in anger, he always has this conflicted look on his face because he wants to be nice to him but just... can't.
None of the characters in the show is just good or bad. Like every other character, Sam is not perfect and Nathan is too easy on her. Tory started the fight in the school because Sam kissed her ex boyfriend. Johnny and Daniel fought last season because Sam didn't want to go to her house and Robby took her to his dad's house. Most of Cobra Kai characters are grey, except Kreese who is clearly the best villain out there.
I have a question for you. Yes tori started the whole school fight however she continues with her vendetta against Sam. There is no end to her madness. This has gone way beyond the kiss now. Why do you think tori continues to torment,bully & come after Sam? What is her end game?

Technically Chris initiated by texting Sam about Cobra Kai messing with him at work. Nate and Miles are also dead on about PTSD. You can't use the word "but" when talking about PTSD when you don't know the whole truth. Military vets can freeze up at a specific trigger. PTSD is PTSD. No matter with context.
Reading some of these comments makes absolutely NO SENSE. Like the girl told Daniel she knew something was wrong before she just thought she could handle it. She's a TEENAGER who doesn't know how to deal with PTSD and it's so obvious. People are saying, "you knew you had it" doesn't change the fact that she doesnt know how to handle it and it's so evident. She said she thought she could handle it and clearly not. So Sam wasn't to blame for starting the fight because she didn't know she had PTSD? That doesn't even make any sense. Sam started the football/soccer fight, then bitched about it when she got in trouble. She then started the lazer tag fight and then cried to her mum when it didn't work out
Sam should have never initiated that fight, the most they were doing was stealing some toys. She's part of the reason Demetri broke his arm. She led Miyag Do into failure

As much as I understand the PTSD argument, she DEFINITELY knew she had PTSD BEFORE the fight (multiple flashbacks). She then told Demetri and the rest of the gang to come to that fight- as their leader. She should have been prepared to fight Tory, yet she folded. It was her responsibility to keep her dojo together, yet she crumbled when it mattered most. The lazer tag thing was Sam. Hawk and his gang stole from Golf N' Stuff, and Sam decided to start a full fight at lazer tag. I get that you really want to hop on team Sam, but her actions are really tough to defend up to this point.
Your right in what you say he can't keep defending Sam at least not in this instance still I can understand why Sam couldn't fight. Even if she did it wasn't just tori she would be up against there were 6 others & she would have been done for

If Sam simply called out to all the Miyagi-Do kids saying "regroup here then retreat", the Cobra Kais couldn't have separated them and done all that damage.
@@JustUs I wouldn't necessarily think overcame it (considering we see Kreese wo "overcame" his trauma but still flashes back to it many times), I would say she learned to confront it. But when it came down to crunch time, she couldn't find herself the way she did before.
Ok after rewatching these reactions I have to say that Cameron is right when he said Sam partially caused destruction because if Sam told Robby about the kiss before hand MAYBE things would have went differently with Miguel being kicked off the 2nd floor I’m not saying Robby would be completely cool with the kiss but he would maybe understand that it was hard for her to tell him and that she had a moment of weakness.(he would still be mad at Miguel but maybe at least a little bit more understandable)
Hawk probably was thinking about what happened to Miguel when he showed mercy they were also in that same position that’s probably why he broke his arm
He's stronger than Tory but I think Robby is a little stronger. However, both Robby and Hawk will know both Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do moves so they'll know offense and defense after switchibg teams
@@boyka235 well the thing is we’ve never seen the Robby and Hawk go at it really, they fought only two rounds in the tournament in season 1 and it was regulated and interrupted by Hawks foul play so we may finally see it this coming season
@@obiwankenobi6871 Robby was able to go toe to toe with Miguel who beat Hawk. Hawk only hit Miguel once, against the tree, and Miguel was still able to beat him. Both Miguel and Robby got really good hits on each other, so if Robby can go against the champion, he can also beat Hawk.
@@boyka235 good point, but Robby lacks what Hawk has already developed: a killer instinct, Hawk wakes up and chooses violence on a normal basis. Robby retains too much Miyagi Do to truly get the win over Hawk who isn’t shy about doing brutal things when needed(even unnecessarily as we saw in this episode)
@@obiwankenobi6871 Killer instinct and violence doesn't always work, sometimes anger can mess you up in fights. The style doesn't matter, look at Daniel and Jhonny. Different styles but pretty close power levels. Also in this episode, Robby adopted the strike first mentality when fighting his bullies. With Robby in Cobra Kai and Hawk with Daniel and Jhonny, both will know offensive and defensive.

Hawk destroyed Demetri project then they beat up the little kid and stole the money they were gonna use for Miguel’s surgery and then they show up where Chris works and steals stuff. Of course sam is gonna be upset and want her and her friends to stand up for themselves. Imagine you keep getting bullied by someone, you gonna take it or stand up for yourself? Jeez 🙄

Sam is the cause of everything S1 bring Robby to the beach party and they were holding hands Miguel got mad and attacked Robby while he was tryna talk to Sam. Sam kept budding in Tory’s business at the beach party that started their beef. She denied her childhood best friend in S1 got with Robby in S2 then kissed Miguel at the party then didn’t tell Robby the rest y’all will find out what happens with her relationship with Robby and Miguel all ima say is she’s a thoot Kyler Miguel Robby back to Miguel
Sam did go for payback Daniel initially wanted to learn karate for revenge. And I mean technically Daniel said revenge in karate kid 1 but payback and revenge is pretty much same thing both are looking for that pound of flesh. And Miyagi taught and was against either one of those reasons. So sam saying payback was totally against everything Miyagi taught and was about. He corrected Daniel on that too.
I hope you guys know that Cobra Kai's karate actually comes from Tang Soo Do, which is a korean derivative of karate, and I am pretty sure it's incomplete, as Kreese seems to only use the more vicious moves that comes from it. Whereas Miyagi-Do actually comes from the defensive side of Goju-Ryu, and seeing as Daniel has beaten both Johnny and Kreese with it, if you combine both styles, there's no way you can beat that....

Nathan is right.... one doesn't necessarily know what every little could trigger PTSD. I've had PTSD my whole life and I don't always know what will trigger it. Especially before getting help. However she shouldn't have initiated the fight but I understand why she did.

About the whole Sam PTSD thing. I took it as that she's scared of Tory because of the fact that she used a weapon . She clearly has no problem fighting hand to hand, but it's the fact that Tory has no problem using whatever tactic she feels like and has the scars to prove it that terrifies Sam. Yeah, she got the last hit in, but mentally she lost that fight

Yeah. At the end of season 2 Tory went to cobra Kai for class that night. Sam went to the hospital. Now, here Sam has come seeking a fight and Tory shows up and calls her out. Plus Sam has the guilt of thinking rightly and wrongly that the school fight was all her fault compounding it.
Well said! PTSD is a serious condition i know ive had it. Understandable why she froze up. Also had she fought tori again & beat her the outcome would still be the same for Dimitri & Sam would have been beaten by all the others as she was outnumbered 7 to 1. I think many of the fans I watch seem to react this way towards Sam without thinking it through.
Sam did start that fight looking for revenge, which is absolutely against miyagi teachings. So I think the point is that what happened kind of was her fault. “If you’re looking for revenge you should start by digging two graves”

It’s not revenge at that point it’s fighting back against getting bullied. Miyagi signed up Daniel in the tournament and trained him to allow Daniel to fight back against his bullies. Sam did the same just without a tournament

Sam shouldn't have initiated the fight actually. But at the same time, PTSD is real. It completely overwhelms you. But that is why you should avoid confrontations until you have fully recovered from it. Sam is a really good person but she is very indecisive and prone to make wrong decisions at the wrong time. That's what gets other people hurt.

The real reason why Hawk did that to Demetri is because that was the exact same position Miguel had Robby in at the end of season 2. Miguel showed mercy, then Robby put Miguel in a coma. Hawk didn’t want to make that exact same mistake
I know ppl don't agree with how Jonny and Miguel have this close bond but ppl need to realise that when everyone gave up on Jonny including Robbie, Miguel didn't he has always believed in Jonny and Jonny is the closest thing to a father that Miguel will ever have. Not saying that it's ok for Jonny to seemingly choose miguel over his blood son Robbie but Robbie's jealousy is going to keep causing him to push Jonny into Miguel's life.
People also should keep in mind that Johnny has always seen himself as a screw up, never had a great upbringing or even had a father figure growing up. Instead he had his crappy stepdad and Kreese, who he resented greatly. To him leaving Johnny with his mother seemed like the better option because it was guaranteed he wouldn’t be able to screw that up.

Agreed. from Johnny's point of view I get why he's always gravitating back to Miguel. Because even when he's trying so hard with Robby, everything just seems to go wrong whenever they interact. It never ends well for either of them. Just look at when he tried to help Robby last season. It broke up a building friendship between him and Daniel... It broke up his relationship with Carmen and it got Miguel critically injured.
Than whenever he tries to help now. Looking for Robby. Ends badly. Visiting him in the soup kitchen. It goes wrong.

I think people shouldn’t judge Robby and completely defend Johnny. Johnny may have had a rough up bringing and lack of a father figure but what excuse it’s that to miss not only the birth of ur child but years of his life also in the school fight, Robby tried to break up the fight after Tory called Sam out for her and Miguel kissing each other and Miguel and Robby both knew what Tory was trying to do but Miguel attacked Robby and then egged him on in the fight saying that Sam loves him not Robby so Miguel wanted a fight not Robby. Miguel showed mercy at the wrong time. He should have showed it before he starting mentioning Sam in the fight or before the fight so both Robby and Miguel are at fault for his injury. Robby makes mistakes but he’s not all to blame. It’s just that some people choose favorites and hate to see something happen to them. People think that Miguel is just this great character and I like Miguel to but he’s at fault too. He didn’t have to fight Robby but he did and he also didn’t apologize to Tory. He may have gotten hurt but he could have called her if he still really cared. He was her boyfriend so neither him or Sam apologized for the kiss.

The way Robbie was defending Sam Miguel was trying to defend Tori in that moment and did he say some things he shouldn't have yes does that mean that Robbie should kick him over a railing absolutely not Robbie does not get a pass because his dad was a jerk and because his mom is a jerk like no, Danny was trying to teach him how to be a good person then he was trying to help him and show him a better way of life notice how a split second of anger caused him to almost ruin his entire life. Now I'm not saying anyone's better than the other I was specifically saying that people need to stop ragging on Miguel and Johnny's relationship because they're upset that Johnny doesn't have one with Robbie that's all I'm saying.
LOL half these discussions are always about Sam character. In my opinion: Sam doesn't deserve the hate that she gets from people but she does makes mistakes that i get would leave people frustrated but to say that she's the cause of all is not fair, she is usually involved with all the causes but there were other people to blame as well, what this show does well is that there are many layers to the situations that happens and neither side is completely right or wrong!

None of the characters in the show is just good or bad. Like every other character, Sam is not perfect and Nathan is too easy on her. Tory started the fight in the school because Sam kissed her ex boyfriend. Johnny and Daniel fought last season because Sam didn't want to go to her house and Robby took her to his dad's house. Most of Cobra Kai characters are grey, except Kreese who is clearly the best villain out there.

As much as I understand the PTSD argument, she DEFINITELY knew she had PTSD BEFORE the fight (multiple flashbacks). She then told Demetri and the rest of the gang to come to that fight- as their leader. She should have been prepared to fight Tory, yet she folded.
It was her responsibility to keep her dojo together, yet she crumbled when it mattered most.
The lazer tag thing was Sam. Hawk and his gang stole from Golf N' Stuff, and Sam decided to start a full fight at lazer tag.

In a battle between 2 sides, the more united side wins. If Sam simply called out to all the Miyagi-Do kids saying "regroup here then retreat", the Cobra Kais couldn't have separated them and done all that damage.

He's stronger than Tory but I think Robby is a little stronger. However, both Robby and Hawk will know both Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do moves so they'll know offense and defense after switchibg teams
@@boyka235 well the thing is we’ve never seen the Robby and Hawk go at it really, they fought only two rounds in the tournament in season 1 and it was regulated and interrupted by Hawks foul play so we may finally see it this coming season

Also in this episode, Robby adopted the strike first mentality when fighting his bullies. With Robby in Cobra Kai and Hawk with Daniel and Jhonny, both will know offensive and defensive.

Sam did go for payback Daniel initially wanted to learn karate for revenge. And I mean technically Daniel said revenge in karate kid 1 but payback and revenge is pretty much same thing both are looking for that pound of flesh. And Miyagi taught and was against either one of those reasons. So sam saying payback was totally against everything Miyagi taught and was about. He corrected Daniel on that too.

I hope you guys know that Cobra Kai's karate actually comes from Tang Soo Do, which is a korean derivative of karate, and I am pretty sure it's incomplete, as Kreese seems to only use the more vicious moves that comes from it. Whereas Miyagi-Do actually comes from the defensive side of Goju-Ryu, and seeing as Daniel has beaten both Johnny and Kreese with it, if you combine both styles, there's no way you can beat that....

Nathan is right.... one doesn't necessarily know what every little could trigger PTSD. I've had PTSD my whole life and I don't always know what will trigger it. Especially before getting help. However she shouldn't have initiated the fight but I understand why she did.

Ok, I know Sam has ptsd an everything but if you’re gonna stick up to your Bully’s you have to be I 100% ready for every outcome. You can’t go fight the crew that the girl you’re afraid of is in and not think she wasn’t gonna show up. @@JustUs that’s fine but she did know she had some type of ptsd she should of gotten her self to a 100% before going in blind an leading her group into a situation where no one wins really. An im pretty sure she knew she had ptsd for tori since every flash back she got was of tori an her fighting not her fighting Kobra Kai. I’m not trying to put the whole blame on her but if she’s going to be the”leader” for her group she’s got to be able to guide an protect them at all cost. Again it’s not her fault she has ptsd but she needs to be smarter on how she approaches situations. Like on the soccer field that was not necessary an reckless An what happened her team is the one who got punished not kobra kai. It’s interesting listening to your theories after I already finished the series, some of them are far off but some of them are very reasonable
