  • This video is a quick demonstration of the start up procedure and the operation of a diesel compact tractor. You will also get to see the hook up of a estate 3 point hitch mower. The Ford 1200 is a 1980 model with a 2 cylinder diesel engine. Hope you enjoy this video and I will include links to my other tractor videos.

I am glad you found the video. You are highly correct on the tractor along with the Shiburia engine. The tractor has served me well from mowing, pulling cars around the yard, and plowing snow for the last seven years.

Nice explanation of the tractor, I just emailed a fellow about a 1720, not many videos show the operation of the levelers and installing of the finish mower.

Hey so I have a 1210 that works basically the same that I just bought. My question was on the brake usage. I noticed that on mine when I release the clutch the tractor goes but if I hit the brakes on the right side and I really don’t get anything. Is that because my brakes are old? I was just curious because I want to make sure I’m using my tractor properly. Thanks for your reply

The brakes should stop the tractor and hold the tractor in neutral on a hill. I never had any problems with my 1200 tractor, but I also own an old Ford 8n. The Ford 8n did not stop well because the rear wheel seals were leaking, and the brake shoes were covered with oil. I hope this helps you out, and thank you for watching.
