This was interesting to watch...so much work to produce such a piece relatively simple in design . We take advantage of factory parts ...these guys are doing it manually...hats off to you guys.. impressive
Go to Agri Supply or any similar retailers and that factory part you're taking advantage of is exactly what you're looking at in this video.

When as industrial engineer you have had the opportunity to work in big factories as Owens Illinois or General tires and you see this kind of improvisation with so great skill, you can not feel but admiration and respect to this people without safety devices. Cheers from Venezuea.

It's not improvisation. A lot of factories around the world are like this, they just don't have the money to buy the most modern machines, but they do what they can with the machines they have.

As someone who grew up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle, I have never seen a powder coated plow disk. Painted with a rust preventative coat of paint but never with a powder coated and baked enamel.
That's how to compete with China. Made from better material and "Powder coated" Side by side for the same price, which would you buy?

We always bought the ones made from hardened steel in the United States by John Deere, that were spray painted black, since most of the paint would be rubbed off by the soil after a few weeks of use anyway, just like baked on powdered enamel would.
@@denniswilliams3934 In Europe plowing discs and similar parts made here or coming from China have a light coat of paint, just enough so they don't rust before selling them, although some companies offer on request their products with different, more luxurious finishes for exhibition machinery, and in some cases only powder coating or galvanizing doubles the price of those parts, for the end user it would be a nonsense to spend more money on something that neither improves the performance nor extends the life of those parts.
But in Pakistan and India they seem to love to purchase bright and multi colored machines to then paint them even more with custom decorations :-)
Makes no sense powder-coat will be sanded off in 2 days...
@@JusticeLogic819 I could imagine there be points that don’t make contact , and these would remain with some rust preventative paint. The contact points would continuously have rust removed , but not the other spots if there was no paint.
is probably one most professional factories I've seen, and even some of the guys are wearing boots

Apart from the obvious ones around the furnace, the unshielded chains, wheels, pulleys, and countless others are all present and waiting...
Unfortunately, were a worker to be killed, maimed or otherwise injured, they'd simply be replaced for pennies with another one needing money.
Replacements are far cheaper than safety...
So true. Life is cheap over there. They won't get paid much either. Sad really.

People don't realize the amount of infrared radiation these workers have to endure. You can hear the fans blowing air, trying to keep them cool, thing is infrared rays are unaffected by wind. They get HOT 🔥! These guys sure are tough!

@@maplemanz I too mentioned that above, but I just wonder whether 1070 steel is better left to air cool for such application.
@@chapiit08 The answer is a definite no. With ground engagement tools you want to maximize hardness without making them too hard and brittle. I don't know if this is a high carbon steel or not but if it is the proper heat treatment would be oil quench followed by tempering.
