It’s really good to relate to curly hair revelations. Even I as a kid started hating my hair because of everybody around me. At home, people shaved my hair multiple times w the hope that the next time it grows, it’ll be straight(?) At school, I’d be bullied because of my curls. “maggi”, “malinga”, what not. It took like two decades of my life to finally own and appreciate my hair. From realising how most of the hair products, styles and all were actually targeted at the straight hair population, to changing my comb, shampoo and other hair products. Looking back, I actually feel bad for torturing my hair w straightening shampoos and serums only to end up w frizzy, weird looking hair. I kept my hair short for this reason. And then this one day, I went for a haircut and the hairdresser advised me to scrunch my hair up. I didn’t even know what he meant. I looked it up and tried it and I was legit surprised. I guess that’s when the .. uhm.. internal revolution began hehe. Anyway, it’s nice to watch curly hair stories.
I think this is what every curly haired person had to go through in their life. The little one has saw people saying me everytime to straighten my hair, that is how i will look more beautiful and what not. At some point of time i myself felt to be ugly because of how people make me feel about my hair. But things suddenly changed when i started embracing myself, my hair and how i am and not as per the so called norms of the society and that's when the same people around me started saying how beautiful is my curls, lol. But by then it was already too late for them as i stopped taking any tolls of their sayings and then onwards my curls and me started living happily ever after.😅🎉
