I have a webb 24 and an atco, they are such a joy to use, such fine british engineering! , my grass was one not suitable but after a lot of work I have it like a putting green!!
these mowers are usually left on the same height, it is for cutting fine grass for example criket bowling strips, and putting greens. They are amazing mowers.
Interesting! I went golfind recently and had to pause and just admire how rediculously short the grass was. It must have been 3mm tall grass. It makes sense that a reel mower would be used, as it scissor action cuts the grass rather than whipping it with a fast moving blade.
@MihiLibertas Id agree with you there I run 2 of these regularly and they both need carb work about 2 times per season even though they are kept to a very good standard and are run on clean fresh petrol! they should put hondas on them and they would be the ultimate
@1:50 the man is walking at normal pedestrian speed. Any idea why - whatever tuning i make - i have to RUN after this exact same machine?? unless I only partially engage the bale bar, but I guess this is not recommended at all (damaging the machine). Any idea welcome!
geez whiz i mow my lawn once a week and i have automatic irigation and my niegbours call me anal haha,i should get one of these that will really get em going :)
I saw that too but as someone else noticed the facial expression on the operator was one of surprise. He was going too fast during that pass and it allowed the machine to hop.

I agree. The design is now owned by Allett and they've named it the Buckingham.
Great for well maintained yards. Not great for yards with sticks, rocks,bumps and holes. Damaging a blade is not a $25 replacement like most pushers.

i'm thinking of the atco club or balmoral, but i wonder if it's too much hassle... seems quite particular these machines...
I wonder how one of those would do on thick St. Augustine grass.

What one in 2021 so bad. I have a picture of my dad on one in the 70s or 80s obviously not the same mower but same cylinder ride on
