- Today we're giving a long-form response to a recent video posted by Emmanual Acho, in which he had an "uncomfortable" conversation about abortion with several women. The thing is, there were really no pro-life voices involved; everyone on the show, including, allegedly, a pastor, seemed to accept the progressive view of abortion and Roe v. Wade. And that's where we come in. We'll play several clips from Emmanuel's video and respond to things that he and his guests say, as well as providing sorely needed biblical commentary to the pro-abortion "arguments" being made.

I've worked in healthcare for 38 years. I've worked in utilization review, quality assurance and for the last 7 years I work with an OB/GYNE physician. I have never heard of any physician who did not understand that a tubal pregnancy is not a viable situation for the baby or mother and removal of the fallopian tube and pregnancy is the only medical solution in most cases. It is NOT considered an elective abortion. What this woman is saying are straight out lies!

I thank God for giving me wise parents who told me abortion was murder, and that sex outside of marriage could lead to murder if I chose to have sex before marriage and had an abortion. They also told me that a man who really loved me would respect my decision to wait. Thank God I believed them. So When hormones were raging as a teen and I really wanted to have sex, that's what stopped me. I never wanted to be in that position. It was worth it to wait! Then I got saved and was so thankful I could go to the altar as a virgin. God gets all the glory!

Rejection of God's Word is the reason for all of this in the first place! Sex is for marriage. Teens, especially, have no business having sex. They can't handle the emotional issues, much less any baby that may result.
Where were the uncomfortable questions like, "Did you know pregnancy is a possible side effect of sex, do you think having sex outside of marriage was a responsible decision, would you advise other young girls to abstain so as to avoid murder?" Scripture says, "You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord....And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them?"

The Olympian says she tries to be Christ like, yet killed her baby that was conceived out of wedlock. 🤨
Not condemning her, but it sounds like she's talking about a different Christ, a different Bible, or just doesn't understand the true biblical Christ and value of a life and to sacrifice HER "dreams" for the life of her child.
I'd like to ask her:
Was it worth it?
To lose your child and the race?
Are you aware you're deceived?
Do you not see this big lie being fed to women, especially black women, that this is indeed NOT "empowerment?"
IMAGINE being so deceived to conflate murdering your own child with a "life saving procedure." It's so heartbreaking. 😔

Her story made me cry. When she said she had an abortion so she could be the best she could be, I thought "YOU COULD HAVE HAD BOTH." She could have run in Beijing pregnant. There was a 5 month old pregnant lady shattering records. Who could possibly imagine how much of a blessing God had in store for her?
I , also, smh when she said she hadn't seen herself in that situation...of bring pregnant. How can you not? If you are having sex protected or not...there's still a chance of getting pregnant...just sayin.

Can you imagine if she had competed and won? She would have bragged on how she ran and won while pregnant. It's sad that she didn't have enough faith to trust God with her circumstances. Can you imagine the story she would have told her child? " Mom found out she was pregnant with you just before the Olympics. I was so scared but I raced pregnant anyway. You were in the Olympics with me!!!" Maybe she would have had a miscarriage, maybe she would have lost the race anyway and the baby would have been a comfort to her. Whatever the outcome, there's still hope for her to repent of her sins and come to Christ. God can forgive her and redeem her life. May we learn from her life and choose to trust God with unplanned circumstances. 🙏
And what if she couldn’t? Brazilian volleyball star Ana Paula gave up her career at the height of it, gave up on the Olympic Games she was looking forward to go - and would almost certainly win as she was a powerful player in a team of stars. All bc she found out she was pregnant. Pregnancy was one of the reasons that would lead to forfeiture of her contract with the team. She chose to not kill her baby, she forfeited the contract and all the glory that would come with it. It’s not about “saving” my life, it’s about doing what is right even when it doesn’t make bem happy.

They see God in such a narrow way. That He is only loving, forgiving, gracious, etc. He IS all of those things and He is ALSO a judge, corrector, teacher and is very clear in the difference between right and wrong.
They had the most confortable conversation ever with no challenge and all people who share the same pro-abortion view 😂
They would consider an actual disagreement as "violence" so anything less than "shout your abortion" is considered "uncomfortable"

It was uncomfortable conversation because he was learning from the male perspective and allowing women who have had abortion procedures for there own health.

I watched that video and as a fellow woman who went through a ectopic pregnancy I was VERY confused how one of those woman feel that she had an “abortion” when the embryo is not even in the uterus. (That woman being a doctor of all things)

Because that is how it is charted. A miscarriage is called a spontaneous abortion. The procedure to remove the non viable clump of parasitic cells is classified as an abortion.
I don't understand how that lie keeps circulating either. Even on the Planned Parenthood website, they explicitly state that treatment of an ectopic pregnancy is not the same as an abortion. They also explain a miscarriage is not the same as an abortion (how this is circulating is beyond me). Yes it's called medically "a spontaneous abortion" but an abortion is "the deliberate termination of a pregnancy" which is not the same at all.
I do not mourn with those who mourn their inability to kill the child in their womb.

The way these women twist and contort God’s word to justify the evil of abortion just to make themselves feel better is sick. This would have been a great opportunity for them to share their questions they may carry from their “choice”, or remorse. This was a pointless pro-abortion tea-spill.
These women are simply justifying their sin. I pray that God opens the eyes of their hearts and they repent and are saved. We cannot love what God hates and profess Christianity. I should know. I had an abortion as a teenager and it ruined my life. I thought I was a Christian. Christ saved me in my thirties and I truly saw my sin and hit my knees in sorrow for the life I took in fear. My son in college and I were JUST talking about this subject. He was being told at a Bible study that we need to have sympathy and compassion for those that are sad about the outcome of Roe v Wade..?? We agreed that as Christians, that is NOT what God calls us to do, but to tell them truth...so thank you for this episode!! It just confirmed (with so much good Biblical reference) that we were looking at this correctly. I have learned so much more about Biblical truth and being confident in sharing it with others since listening to your podcast. So thank you so much for doing what you do!! You ARE making a difference in this world.

Idk what kind of a Dr. She had with her ectopic but there's no way they told her they had to find a way to make this a "medically sound abortion". I had an ectopic pregnancy. Someone's lying or someone's a bad Dr.
Or that is Texas now. Not just Texas but West Virginia even put it in writing that ending an ectopic pregnancy is illegal. I’m glad you were able to have the life saving procedure. If you do not believe the woman speaking or me, please look into it. This is what these laws have done.
@@daneesledge1626 - Wth all due respect, what you have posted regarding The Texas Abortion law and Ectopic Pregnancies is incorrect. The Texas Law explicitly provides an exception for Ectopic Pregnancies. Sec. 245.002 (Item C).
"An act is not an abortion if the act is done with the intent to:
(A) save the life or preserve the health of an unborn child;
(B) remove a dead, unborn child whose death was caused by spontaneous abortion; or
(C) remove an ectopic pregnancy."

Additionally, this would seem to be a case of the doctor being ignorant of the law, which is actually very troubling if said person has practiced for any length of time. I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that there are laws in the US (certainly within the past 30 years) which codify the removal of an ectopic pregnancy as illegal. With that in mind, it should be incumbent upon everyone to ensure that they employ competent medical practitioners.

I pointed out that this woman, who lives in Texas, had to wait 2 weeks to get the care she needed for a ectopic pregnancy because her doctor was fearful of legal ramifications. That is what happened. That is her story. That is the truth of her lived experience. You may look at the law and say it is impossible or question the doctor, but that is something different than my point. My point is women are saying their lives are in danger and this is one example. I also know in West Virginia the law was ending an ectopic pregnancy was illegal. They may have changed it since then, but I know women in WV who are concerned. Again, you may look at what is written in the laws and say that women should not be in danger. But they are telling you they are. So yes, I do agree with you that we need to be careful about misinformation. Which is why I think it’s important to listen to the women who are saying they are not getting the care they need to save their lives because of these new anti-abortion laws.

My daughters are 5 and 6 and they’ve already been taught that killing a baby inside a mommy’s tummy is braking the 6th commandment- you shall not murder. They’re still young for the sex/birth control piece, but not too young to understand murder. And when I ask them “what if the mommy doesn’t want a baby yet? What if she has no room in the house or wants to wait a few years to be a mommy?” their answer was “It doesn’t matter- the baby is already there.” I was so happy my girls already understand such important ideas and spot what really matters. I pray that God’s keeps them wise and grounded in his word as they grow up in this world full of lies.

I can't help but notice that every question begins with a very leading "Do you feel...?" question. That in itself is a red flag. Excellent episode, Allie. Your touching on guilt vs shame & also women convincing themselves they feel ok about this was bang on.

Judah Smith and Chelsea Smith have stood for nothing for quite some time now. I grew up with Judah Smith and Carl
Lentz being the two most influential pastors for my generation and they have produced a multitude of Christians that also stand for nothing. Chelsea is the biggest fool on this stage for she has positioned herself as a teacher yet is a blind guide. These other women are lost and I ache for their souls and their perverted view of what being a Christian means, but I guarantee they are the product of leaders much like Judah and Chelsea Smith. As Christians we have to STOP giving our money and support to leaders/Christian Influencers like this. These people have forfeited their privilege to lead anyone!

So good that you addressed this subject biblically. It's been remiss of churches to make light of our sin even if it makes women feel better. Many comments here point to the need for healing for years afterwards. To my thinking, that shows us all that abortion is not the 'simple' solution young girls are taught it is.
And I love you so much for pointing out that a baby dies horrifically every time. I no longer call those who support abortion 'pro choice'. The behaviour and words of people like Elizabeth Warren are not pro any choice other than abortion. She hates that there are clinics which actually look at alternatives for women.

I watched Emmanuel's video before you made a response video. So, I am THRILLED to see you make a response to it!! His video title was so misleading. A lot of people in his YT video comments are calling him out for it, even pro-choice people. I am relieved to see that both sides recognize that this was not an "uncomfortable conversation". Also, am I the only one who noticed Chelsea didn't get an introduction in the very beginning, as all three of the other women did? Found that to be weird. Also, I got irritated because they were not letting Chelsea talk. I thought "she is pro-life! Let her speak!". Then when she did eventually get a chance to speak gosh I couldn't believe what she was saying
I wrote in his comments. I was happy to see even pro choices also give some pushback.
Thank you for responding to this.. I JUST got done watching his video and I couldn’t help but cringe at everything that was said. And the “pastor” highly misrepresented Christ. I didn’t appreciate her take on Him with the woman caught in adultery or her thoughts about the fact that His puts emphasis on love and compassion and not upholding that He is also a JUST God who will NOT clear the guilty… It was a terribly one-sided video.

Love this episode Allie, thank you for your work as a bold woman of faith who is willing to speak the truth. These “Christian” messages are so harmful.
Listening to Allie is like watching an epic boxing match. I know she doesn’t intend to slam dunk these people, and she speaks with grace and truth and love. But once she gets going it’s just right hook, right hook, upper cut, K.O. I almost wince at the thought of the people she’s reviewing watching this, because I can only imagine how humiliating and humbling it would be for them to have to confront their selfishness and lies by hearing Allie’s fire hydrant truth. But, I think it’s exactly what they need. They are leading weak followers and weak minded people straight to hell. I shiver at the thought of my 18 year old self watching that video Allie reviewed or listening to those people, because my mind and heart was so empty without Christ I would have followed their every word and called them kind and compassionate. Without knowledge of the true word, without the Holy Spirit and it’s divine discernment, the devil and its workers make lies sound so sweet and palatable.

Thanks Allie for responding to this as it's so encouraging to hear truth spoken. I started watching their discussion earlier in the day and realized quickly how one sided it was and recognized how they were trying to justify their choice. They weren't admitting any wrong doing at all, and so hard for me listening to the ectopic pregnancy story as even those who are pro life recognize that situations like that are entirely different. Pro choice arguments (at least what I have witnessed) never acknowledge the horrors of late term abortion or even second trimester abortions where the babies are being sucked out limb by limb, the huge numbers of abortions taking place that have nothing to do with a mom's health, or the sad statistic you mentioned about more black babies being aborted than delivered in NY. Super sad stuff. Christians should be united on this issue. It's not about my truth or your truth, but as Christians, it's about God's truth. And it is humbling as I recognize so many times in my life where I justified my sin to make me feel better about my choices. Beyond grateful for God's forgiveness and how he can change our hearts and perspectives as we seek him more.

I haven’t even watched this video yet, but I’m SO GLAD Allie is offering a rebuttal. I watched the “Uncomfortable Conversations” video the other day and was appalled and heartbroken at so much of what was said. So much evil is excused when it’s discussed in soft, “compassionate” tones.

Everything about the eptopic pregnancy story is off to me. I had an eptopic pregnancy and early on its treated with a shot which the doctor orders but the doctor never gives the shot you have to go to a lab. Also follow up hcg levels are required. If the eptopic pregnancy resulted in a ruptured tube you would need an emergency surgery. If it got to that point the women would have needed to be hospilized. Also her regular OB doctor or whoever she saw wouldn't probably be the person who does the procedure.
I was viewing the comments to see if the ectopic pregnancy was mentioned, and I would like to add my personal experience with an ectopic pregnancy. The timeline between identifying the ectopic pregnancy is suspicious to me as well. Mine was also in the fallopian tube. Before I even realized I was pregnant I was in such excruciating pain I could barely walk and emergency surgery was performed. Waiting two weeks for a doctor to decide what to do does not make sense. The pregnancy is not viable and is life-threatening to the mother. I had a salpingectomy where the ectopic pregnancy and the tube are both removed. Heartbreaking for me and my husband and never considered an abortion.
I had an eptopic but mine was in my ovary (super rare). I too had symptoms for a week and then ended up in the ER with extreme pain. I then had to get emergency surgery. I didn't even know I was pregnant. They told me I was probably only two weeks pregnant. I realize my experience was rare since it was my ovary and it ruptured so I never had a choice of how to treat it. It was surgery or death. But yes I didn't think you had several weeks to come up with a treatment plan
He also speaks to His Holiness more than anything! God is love, but it’s a HOLY LOVE. Abortion ISNT HOLY.
Might be smart to rename this podcast, “Comfortable Conversations with a Black Man”, where they find “pastors” who will join them in providing them comfort and assurance that their sin, even murder, isn’t all that bad because of “love”.
The true gospel doesn’t negate absolute forgiveness through Jesus, yet it still condemns all sin as punishable by death. The only reason we come to Jesus for forgiveness is because we realize we are all condemned as sinners. Christians are not to diminish the severity of sin, but to make it what it really is and then point to the only One who can forgive such sin. Like Allie said, this was an absolute failure by Chelsea to share the gospel.
Watching you react to the video is like seeing myself react when I watched it yesterday. Thank you for presenting a proper rebuttal for that conversation! It was very frustrating to see such a one sided conversation when we were expecting to hear two sides😔
Removing an ectopic pregnancy is necessary and therefore not a choice
I'd love to see a state legislature sponsor a bill that says they will change the language around miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. Right now they are classified as spontaneous abortion, which is different of course from elective abortion, but I know a woman who had 5 miscarriages before she was finally able to bring a baby to term and every time she got the medical bill stating she'd had an abortion it was a slap in her face and salt in her wounds. If we want to talk about compassion, let's talk about the medical community making it clear that miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies are not the same. But then they would erase their own pro-choice talking points, so I doubt anyone will have the guts to do that.
Can we get a shirt that says “abortion is not birth control”?

Thanks for calling it out as it is! I appreciate you! Besides not discussing what happens to the baby, there was no discussion of women who have been victimized by abortion. Women who were told it is just a clump of cells, and then later on they realize what they actually did to their own child.

As I am listening I think to myself that the lady that was wanting to be an Olympian, her story could have been so different. What a story it would have been to say I won with my baby. She was already conditioned in her body so there would not have been any harm to her or the baby. And as far as "I Identify!" You either are or your not :( Sad case
Need to address the PTSD that happens to women after an abortion. Abortion is not birth control, Adoption is an option. Being a Christian does not negate harmones and poor choices; better understanding of use of birth control meaures is needed.
So grateful you covered this video. I was enjoying Emmanuel Acho's "Uncomfortable Conversations" when he first started and I will admit I haven't watched him recently. Now I'm sad to see that he missed the mark entirely with this show. This was a hard video to watch because the lies are just so blatant.
Allie thankyou so much for this show! I've been watching you for quite awhile and appreciate your perspective. So many reasons that people give for ending a human life. It seems very very simple when I hear their arguments. Less simple is when it threatens the mother's life. Save them BOTH whenever is possible!

The female minister is totally misleading these women with wrong interpretation of Scripture and leaving out the rest of the Scripture she quoted, where Jesus told the woman at the well, “go and sin no more”. It’s sad how conversation was absent of Truth. Allie, you did a good job and all those sitting in that conversation needed to hear your response. If they have an open heart, they will be convicted.
Agree that Alli loves the truth and can show the hypocrisy of these people in such a kind but bold way. It is easy to speak with those who only agree but to speak truth is not always easy but God gives you strength when you do. Good job.

Wow! The ectopic one is a straight up lie! I had an ectopic in 1985. Diagnosis without ultrasound well, we women died. I bled internally for three days and at the eleventh hour a doctor literally Dr. Good, diagnosed it and my life was saved!!

These women sat and shared their stories. That was the point of the video. It was not to argue, therefore no rebuttal is needed. As a sister in Christ, I love that they were given an opportunity to tell their story. As a white sister in Christ, I am especially glad I got to hear the stories of those who don’t experience life like I do. I would challenge everyone to listen to their stories of why they had abortions with hearts to hear and love sisters as Christ, not to argue. Every time Jesus met people who were hurting and marginalized, he showed them love and compassion. He didn’t walk into situations looking for a fight. In American Christianity too often people want a fight to win. But that is not the example our Savior gave us. The fact this video exists grieves my heart.

@@jimlewis4765 comparing women who are humbly speaking their pain to the religious elite who thought they had God figured out and used the ancient scriptures as a weapon are two totally different things. When looking at the Bible, context matters. Audience matters. If these women had come and said that they are right and everyone who disagrees are sinners and God is on their side, then I could see comparing their actions to the Pharisees. But that is not what they did. They came and shared their brokenness and the nuances of why they had to make a hard decision. They did not try and force people to see things the way they do. These sisters in Christ were just inviting others to listen. And as a sister in Christ, my challenge for all believers is to listen to these women in love, not to fight.
Why was there no counterpoint in the panel? Or was this simply a show to allow these women to justify their actions?

Allie, I want to say a special thank you for expressing that the life of the mother and the baby are equally important and valuable because what I tend to hear makes it sound that the baby is more important than the mother and that has made it even more difficult for me to wrestle through the ectopic pregnancy issues.
