Yeah. I'm barely in gold league and that was hard to watch. Even for me. I mean... once you got them locked into their own base like that all you need is a dozen lings. x_x
@@tarrker Could also take bases behind it and steamroll that way you don't always need to kill immediately crippling your opponent like this Zerg did is enough alot of times but in this case you're right speedlings would have cleaned up

My rush failed, so instead of spending 5K resources on Mutas and an army to rush his rebuild, he just sits and does absolutely nothing while Protoss is losing his mind trying to power-out units and buildings with the Nexus.

@@declanhiller4902 he could've won with 5k of zerglings. Even drone rush. Literally anything after the Protoss lost their nexus would've worked ;D

This is why I love view submitted games over the pros, you can't predict shit. Everything you know about the pro players goes out the window and the entire game is a complete gamble, I love it!
i think you learn more on these games too. plus there a riot compared to pro games.
I think the most impressive thing about this match was a zerg with almost 5k resources having less than 100 supply. OMG. XD

That protoss has potential.
Everything he did, he did it badly and he did it slow, but he DID do THE RIGHT things. He did the bare minimum of micro with his expensive units. He built workers, he defended fine, he attacked fine, he tried to counter the opponent.
If he plays more, he'll climb the ladder real fast.

last weekend i went with some friends to Amsterdam, and while they were all like "yeah we gonna get wasted yayyy" i was like "omg what do i do if i meet lowko on the street, i don't even have a pen to ask for an autograph"

That soda I was drinking nearly out right out of my nose when he said that.
I think the adrenaline from actually managing to trap his enemy in his starting base within the first 5 minutes caused ilion's brain to short-circuit and he basically turned into a vegetable for the next 15 minutes.
You should cast more of this type of gameplay. Sometimes it is freaking fun to watch gameplay that make you rolf~ hahaha!

There isn't a problem you can't solve with some photon cannons. If the going gets tough, put them in a crescent moon and you're golden.

The Zerg player is saving his resources for the next game i think. Dude's sitting on a pile of minerals and gas but he chose to do nothing with it.
i really wish lowko harstem and the rest would do more coverage of matches like this on the lower levels. Watching the pros go at it is fun and all, but watching low level matchs are a riot, and far more entertaining, along with being alot more informative as you can actually see what bad plays look like, where as in the pro matches, if you see a bad play, its still a great play compared to what a lot of the lower levels do.
These are the best casts. Anything can happen!

I have a replay that I wish I'd saved. Did a ling rush that got thwarted by early siege tanks. Ten minutes later I won through sheer determination and because my opponent refused to build a single air unit. LoL :)

This is like the how the tables have turned meme reminds me of that terran vs zerg where terran allowed a few drones to get away and managed to build an overwhelming army
Love how the zerg player made a fuck ton of spore crawlers in its oponent's main even tho there was no starport or air protoss units
Easy to armchair quarterback a silver game as a plat but I still like to frame stuff like this as "even if I was bad at splitting my attention, even if i was bad at micro, even if I didn't know when to expand..." all the zerg had to do was start cranking out 4 queens and piles of hydras and then a-moved. Seems like his biggest issue was NOT a-moving because he'd walk past stuff without shooting at it while also taking damage, like giving away half your hitpoints for free while doing no damage.
I guess the silver lining is it would be pretty easy for him to improve his play - spend your money, and know when to a-move (which is very close to always when it comes to zerg, especially at this level).
I remember this series from back in the day called 'When cheese fails' and this reminded me of it hard. I forget which YT did it though.

honestly? that protoss wasn't half bad.
sure he got absolutely ruined initially, but instead of panicking and giving up, he took his probes, went ahead and rebuilt in an unexpected spot, defended like a champ, didn't wait for the protoss death ball to build up but instead did genuinely good smaller attacks which in the end won him the game, he knows what upgrades are, he micro'd a bit, and he was constantly producing, or at least trying to, and he didn't even get cocky once he got a lot of void rays but instead was fully prepared to go carriers and tempests if his void rays were pushed back, he had the confidence that the void rays will clean up, sure, *_but he had a backup plan._*

One of the weirdest sc2 games plays i have ever seen
The opening was half decent for the zerg. The middle and end were epic for toss. Protoss op? Lol. You got lazy after taking, scratch that, during, the toss base take over.
As a Platinum Zerg player who likes to 12 pool, I find it harder to rush a Protoss who builds close to their Nexus because the probes are more easily able to defend the pylon.
Did that ravager just casually walk trough a queen there at 17:35
