    Thank you so much for this. I have struggled with making my own corset backs. You make it so simple to understand. I have been watching your videos since I opened my shop. Thank you for helping me grow my clientele.

    This was awesome! Never thought of adding a corset back into the zipper area. Thanks for teaching me a new technique 💗

    Amazing! I’ve been sewing for 40 years and I don’t know anything about these things. I made wedding dresses 25 years ago. It’s a miracle that all my customers were happy.

    Your loop technique is brilliant! Love your work and your very realistic discussion of what alteration can and can't do.

    Thanks for this definitely looks easier and working without pins even better. The extra reinforcement and ribbing is great. Thanks for this another new technique. Thanks

    I’ve been looking around at some other videos for the same topic, but yours is the clearest, without anything being pedantic or redundant! My bestie’s sister wants me to alter her wedding dress with a corset back, but my schooling never touched on it, so this is super helpful :)

    I have been a sewest since my girls were 7 & 8 years old. I took it a bit farther by offering to creat custom (mostly sewing patterns) garments for them. I am now trying to get into the alteration and garment construction business. I really want to quit my job and do this full time, but currently finances wont allow me to do this. I have to work to pay for the equipment I need to get totally up and running. I have been following you for the past 3 years and I find your content very helpful. I look forward to growing with BST as I increase my sewing skill.

      That's so great to hear!! You are closer than you think! Most often-it is pricing that holds new pro sewists back. Typically, new sewists need to break out of theirr social circle and work for the public for 3x the price. I'm happy to help. ❤️

      I’m in my 3rd year of business. Thank you for alllllll of the help you provide. My opinion would be quit that job asap & you’ll never look back. Competent seamstresses are rare. People are thrilled to find us & happy to pay for our services.

    This is a great video… as usual. I make my corset kits too. Like you mentioned the colors don’t match & after reading review ls on some the quality is not so good. And dear sewers if you have trouble matching fabric to make l these hit the drapery fabrics or the curtain & drapery dept. I had a beautiful lace gown … w/ the lightest blush color under it. After many trips trying to find the fabric & nothing in my stash worked. I found a ❤beautiful sheer fabric in the drapery fabrics. The shade of fabric is perfect, but to sheer, so I cut out a couple little squares… laid one on top of the other till 4 was the perfect color? I bought enough to make the lace with the finished width about 3 in. Not too bulky to lace up but just wide enough to tie into a soft bow which my bride loved. Again, great job Brenda… this will be helpful to many sewers out there❤

    This is an amazing tutorial! I did something similar for a dress I was making as I coudln't find a corset kit to match the colour of the dress but I did it the hard way... this is so much easier! Thank you for sharing. I would be interested to see how you replace the zipper with the corset kit, if you feel like showing that. And also, how you would make the laces to tie the back, again, if you feel like sharing! But anyway thank you for this!

      It'll be a while til I can. Just take the zipper out and sew the corset pieces in. It's pretty obvious how to do it once you take the zipper out. You got this!

    If you stabilize the ribbon with an adhesive water soluble stabilizer (sulky makes a nice one) that would help with the bunching of the ribbon and it just dissolves in water 😊

      They are handy, but I find them cheaply made for the price - the loops are too wide for the ribbon laces.
      Personally I like the ribbon laces to be tight in the loops ➿.)

    I’m just confused about the fabric behind the laces. Maybe it’s in a supplemental video but none of the other TH-cam videos on this subject showed it either.

    • @BridalSewing
      @BridalSewing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, I'm glad you asked. It's probably not shown because it is so simple. It's called a modesty panel. It's literally a lined, triangle of fabric that has boning going across it on the inside. It's sewn down the left side and snaps in on the top right.
